Mario Party 2 really hits different. The costume gimmick/theming is such a fun thing to spice up each world. And the winner of the game being able to fight against bowser in the ending cutscene is so much better than just being "the superstar." Great video - Your insight into these games is valuable.
I totally agree - Mario Party 2 absolutely brings such a unique aesthetic and such a memorable presentation & I think this definitely helps to make it feel like an upgrade from Mario Party 1 in every sense. Thanks so much for watching!
THIS is how you do a sequel. Aside from the selectable items from the first game, I can't think of anything else 1 does better than 2. While it's disappointing to have less boards now and six would become the standard from this point on, the quality is so much higher that the quantity really doesn't matter. I'm honestly stunned you never brought up the costumes as they were such a cute and fun idea that I'm surprised they never did again. It gave each board so much more personality and style, especially with the ending cutscenes. Speaking of the boards, my favorite is Western Land since I adore that type of aesthetic and there's a lot of junctions to move around in so you have tons of control. As for my favorite minigame, it's still Shy Guy Says, and I find being shot out of the sky way more amusing than being sent off into the ocean. Hexagon Heat is way more aesthetically interesting than Mushroom Mix-Up in my eyes too. I don't really mind that they brought back so many minigames from 1 since they are some of the most iconic in the series, and 2 allows them to shine so much brighter in a game that doesn't have nearly as many brown spots. That said, if I had to pick a MP2 original minigame, I'd probably say either Shock Drop or Roll or Speed Hockey for their frantic pacing.
thanks for watching!! I totally agree, Mario Party 2 is a remarkable improvement over Mario Party 1 in every way. The aesthetics are way more clever and fun, the minigames hold up a lot better and the boards are way better. I’m a big supporter of quality over quantity for the boards in Mario Party & I think MP2 is a prime example of this. I’m looking forward to talking about the rest of the series because Mario Party 2 definitely gives the series a lot of momentum.
I like MP2, but not to the extent of everyone else, theres something about it that makes it "good but not the most replayable" for me that MP3 has in my opinion
Another incredible video! I don't think I've played this one, but I'd love to play it at some point. While Mario Party Superstars includes some of the minigames and a couple of the boards, I'd love to experience the full, original game. Especially in those cute costumes! 12:18 made me chuckle from experience. XD
i feel like space land is much better than both pirate and bowser land, those two boards can be a drag and feel like you have no choice when it comes to strategizing
This entry is honestly my least favourite of the N64 ones. It's not nearly as chaotic as MP1, and almost everything it does better than MP1, MP3 does even better.
Fun fact Sneak N' Snore expects you to move slower and when you do you do go into your barrel in a speed that feels reactable. That's to make you not go max speed the whole time and why the timer is so high. Don't like it though even with that information haha.
@@LeoSantano by this time the character was still referred to as Baby Bowser. The named changed to Koopa Kid during the Gamecube era before cutting the character in Mario Party 8. Since then he has been retconed entirely as Bowser Jr.
thanks so much for watching! what’s your favorite Mario Party 2 minigame?
Hexagon Heat
Probably Tipsy Turny or Shy Guy Says

Top 6 Boards:
6. Mystery Land
5. Space Land
4. Pirate Land
3. Bowser's Land
2. Western Land
1. Horror Land
i feel like space land is much better than both pirate and bowser land, those two boards can be a drag and feel like you have no choice when it comes to strategizing
Your contents are gold!:D

By far 2 is the best for n64 and 4 for gamecube
I am the Princess! ❤❤
I wish the brought this vibe back to Mario Party.
Bowser Jr., not Koopa Kid 😉
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They are Koopa kids in the first 7. (Plus advance) Bowser Jr. Was not a character until 2002. These n64 party games came out in 1998-2000
It's Koopa Kid, I miss Koopa Kid, please come back Koopa Kids
