My brother, I love the reality and accuracy you bring to the analysis! People have continued to blame Dak for a combinations of shortcomings this team has had for years. The games are won in the control of the trenches! Offense and Defense begins when you can control the Line of Scrimmage! Well done brother!
Great video my friend. You guys had the best O-Line 10 or so years ago, and now if you go back to that foundation you will go back to having a chance every year.... Rooting for you Cowboys, I am in Miami so for the past 35 years I root for my Dolphins, but want to see you succeed because of Michael Irvine and Jimmy Johnson, I can never root against the Cowboys because of those two men...
I’m glad someone understands football, and doesn’t parrot the hot media takes. EVERYONE wants skill players, with all 10 picks. No one ever thinks about how all the skill players in the world can’t help you, if your offensive line can’t block, and your defensive line can’t stop the run or get any pressure on the opposing quarterback. I would rather have elite offensive and defensive lines, than 2 Jeantys or 2 McMillans or 2 Egbukas. You can’t do anything offensively, if you can’t block, especially at the second level. Gotta secure the A Gap and block the Mike, if you want to run any type of running scheme.
I’d pick Oline or DLine 1st round every draft, if not, go out and get them in free agency and Cowboys won’t do the latter so the draft it is. Right now they have 2 Olineman that are good, and 1 on DLine (Micah) and they have no good DT’s/NG’s. Too many holes to fill in draft alone.
The Cowboys will have another dominant era: There’s no question about it. They have the biggest fan base in the world and I don’t think that’s ever going to change so to keep butts in the seats, Jerry’s gonna have to let the coaches do their thing. Stay out of it, Jerry. Keep Stephen out of it too, Jerry. That being said, I feel like we’ve turned a page. I don’t care that. Everybody says that we get our hopes of every season. That’s what every fan for every sports team does. It’s not even a dig. It’s pitiful. So, looking forward to seeing what these changes will do for the team. I’m ready to see my Cowboys win again. Let’s do this! #DC4L
Hey Lou's Takes, I dig your incite of Klayton Adam's and what he will bring to Dallas. Really excited to see our oline and running game improve. Let's bring in a really good RB in the 2nd or 3rd & maybe bring Rico back & Dak will love how well the play action will work. Would be awesome if Graham fell to us but if not, Burden would be great too!
Great breakdown and I totally agree and happy to finally hear how important the Trenches are!! Most think the OL is doable this year and don't want to think about drafting high for quality OL (& DL) because we just spent a R1 on Guyton, BUT, for me, the OL is not even close to where the rich tradition of what a Cowboys OL & DL should be. The Cowboys have always been known for their strong and powerful OL & DL and it's been a long time since we have had that kind of quality focused on the trenches! Those trenches are the foundation!! If that foundation hasn't been given the attention to quality it has to have and it isn't solid and strong enough it will not be able to fight to bring up the rest of the Offense & Defense to the next levels! Without those quality players fighting in the trenches, it's harder for the rest of the team to rise up to the next levels and be able to stay there!
@@LouTakes Absolutely!! New subscriber and really liked your breakdown! I am also liking the coaches Schotty is bringing in for us! Keep up the good work!!
We grabbed an OC that loves to run the ball.. there are 3 damn good 1st round backs in Jeanty, Judkins, and Henderson.. all 3 can get you good carries while still utilizing dowdle. We can’t rely on Dak we need a franchise back
@ there are plenty of defensive dogs in this draft. We need to have an established run game to help open up our offense. If we don’t get a RB, Egbuka will be up and we need a #2 WR and he’s the kind you want to do that, bc he did that at WRU
@ I need us to get more active in FA for me to feel confident in the Egbuka pick . I feel there are so many needs on this team and for him to lead everything off in picks… I’m kinda worried
@ I get it. If jones is hell bent on Rico, which he is a great player, but I don’t see him being our permanent every down back. We would just need a reliable #2 for Dak who has all the intangibles we want. If we can get a WR in FA I’m all for it.
If Mason Graham or Abdul Carter drop to ten.. Move Up and grab one...If not trade back to 20 gain and extra 3rd.. Take Jeanty, Egbuka, Kevin Banks.. 2nd .. Treyvon Henderson..Tre Harris 3rd . tez Johnson...& Benjamin Morris
Unfortunately a coach with no experience and an inept GM will not improve the cowboys. A great team is made up of the best physical specimens. Jerry has let all these players leave rather than paying them. I’m a 50 year cowboys fan. But after 30 years of Jerry jones is the cowboy only problem is Jerry. He no longer cares about winning.
McCarthy and every coach knows you build from the lines out. Easy saying to build it up, to actually get it done is hard. The last times Cowboys had good Olines (‘07,’09,‘14,’16,’18) they still came up short. There’s a culture problem with this team and starts with Jerry.
@ over the last 25yrs I can tell presnap majority of time if it’s run or pass, yes some down/distances is a no brainer but if an avg fan can tell the other team definitely know. And the culture of having rest days and veteran days is foreign to me. I know today’s players are not of the past but Cowboys roster seems it’s a bunch of pampered pussies.
I saw plenty of times Dak had good protection and didnt do anything with it. I like Dak but ive seen other franchise qbs have horrible O line play and still do good. At some point he has to take blame for his own play.
You have literally seen no QB flourish with a good OL. If so the Chiefs would be chasing their 4th championship in a row. But the Buccaneers exposed their flaw. The stats show he never had any good protection. Even though you might think that he wanting better to carry my QB shouldn’t be a bad thing
@LouTakes Not true, Joe Burrow made it to the super bowl being the most sacked qb in the league. The year thr chiefs lost to the Bucs in the super bowl they had one of their tackles get hurt and one was a doctor who stopped playing football to help during covid. Andrew Luck always had a bad line and was 4 and 4 in the playoffs. Even made it to the AFC championship game. I also remember the seahawks trading away their center to bring in Jimmy Grahm and from that point on their O line was trash and making a conference championship.
@ Is that the goal? Because the Bengals lost the SB on the last play, not being able to block Aaron Donald. And they getting there was a proved anomaly and luck because they haven’t been able to recreate that magic. Also they HAD MULTIPLE WEAPONS.and it still proved to be not enough and their defense was playing tremendously. But it came down to OL play that separated the SB winner. The Chiefs, sure injuries, but they got SMOKED in the SB because they had 0 protection. Mahomes was running to his life all game. They disrupted everyone. The chiefs from that moment made an emphasis to not be in that position ever again. And now they winning Super Bowls. Sure the QB is great, but look at how many times they ran the ball or held up protection. Seriously Andrew Luck he almost lost his life due to OLINE PLAY and Thas why he retired early. I’m sorry man you proving my point
@LouTakes well it's further than we have been with Dak. So why is it when everything around Dak ain't perfect it's an excuse. But when everything is good around him the wins are all on him. I thought players taking up almost 20 percent of the whole teams cap was supposed to overcome those things. Yet every year for Dak there's a new scapegoat. I'm not going to continually blame other parts of our team when the qb struggles then give the qb all the credit and a huge bag when things go right. Thats taking money out of other people pockets and blaming them to protect the guy who makes the most money. I'm not with that.
@ sir it’s the QB market. YOU are propping up to position that you don’t even hold Mahomes to. Also look at the cap hit..it’s not 60 Mil and they can EASILY restructure to push the money down the road. The Joneses purposely don’t do this so they can BLAME Dak. They have done and absolutely terrible job in making Daks life easier. You cant compare these other QBs to Dak and ignore their situation. EVERY QB NEEDS A GOOD SITUATION AROUND THEM TO WIN
As a cards fan, I'll say this, you need some good tight ends. Klay Adams is going to want to run a lot of 13 personal and tight ends and a good guard are crucial for his play calling. Luckily, Adams is an O-line genius, I hate this move for us but really happy for him.
Matthew "24karat" Golden is a live-wire and just might be the next Antonio Brown. He is the dark/nice horse in this 2025 WR draft race. The Cowboys MUST target him FIRST. th-cam.com/video/oykqCfbkdB8/w-d-xo.html
