I could listen to you talk all day. You voice is so soothing and calm. You explain things so thoroughly. I just love your videos. You would be a great teacher.
I just found your channel as I got a Breville Expresso machine. Your videos are amazing. You explain everything so well and they're like relaxing? Idk but amazing job and I'm really glad I found your channel 😊
10 years experience with a Gaggia Classic and just bought a Gaggia Classic Pro after I did my 3rd rebuild of the former Gaggia. Never used the bottomless portafilter until NOW. Long story short: I have viewed over 30 "how to vids" I have bought all the gizmos for tamping, funnels, wire doodad for getting rid of clumps, leveler etc. Even splurged for "fresh" coffee shipped within 2 days of being roasted. I have filmed my pulls, tried "pre-infusions" on and on. Nothing I have done has stopped channeling and almost zero crema. I analyze my puck after every pull and with a few exceptions they look perfect. Any help ideas?
Bottomless means the cold metal will not change the temperature of the coffee when it touches it. Btw you can also recommend heating the coffee cup before pouring coffee in it. In Italy coffee cups are kept on top of the machine to stay warm so they don’t cool the coffee
Very informative and yep... love your soothing voice. I am loving more my 9 yr old Breville Express machine. Waiting for my new bottomless portafilter and holder and wire distributor tool... excited to be espresso more. Already 2-3 times daily
I tend to pull 1:2 and sometimes 1:1.5 like a ristretto 😊 I almost never pull 1:3, but sometimes I pull faster shots (closer to 25 seconds but still 1:2 ratio)
@@HijabsandAprons thats what I’m trying to do. But if I make it more fine so that the 25 seconds stops right at the 1:2 ratio, it doesn’t flow correctly. It flows very slowly like a under extraction :/. And if I make it more coarse, it flows correctly but it goes to 45 grams instead of 36.
@arlokkkk You've got to pull a manual shot so that you can manually stop it when you want to! Or adjust your dose slightly (keep the coarse setting and dose 0.3-0.6g more and let it run for the same time)
Hi ,i have delonghi dedica ec685 i have it 6 months , changed so many coffees and even bought bottomless portafilter for double espresso but stopped it since i like more single shot espresso. Yesterday i bought singleshot basket for bottomless but its terrible. Water run too quickly even with 7-8-10-12 grams still it run too quickly . In past i could make good coffee with bottomless but now its terrible idk why. But well in those 6 months i changed coffee everytime and even now still testing coffees , now i use lavazza crema but maybe that coffee make it bad and maybe some different coffee will change flow to slow and tasty. Any idea what else ir could be or how slow flow ? + I have even steel puck with i put on coffee
Firstly, make sure you're dialed in (input vs output vs brew time). Then assess your puck prep! Make sure you de clump your coffee grounds and that you're tamping evenly. Here is my routine for the Breville Barista Pro th-cam.com/video/H8TK-he9oio/w-d-xo.html
I’ve tried my bottomless filter but shots come out too quickly even w adjusting my inner and outer burr, using that whisk tool and tamping modifications. It comes out bitter too
I love the bottomless because it's a lot easier to analyze. The only downside is you can't split a shot. I feel lilt when you need to split then just switch at that time
Great question! I don't, but if I needed to then I would use the single shot basket. Out of curiosity, what do you usually do with the other half? Give it to someone else?

Lots of reasons to get one. Amazing! Do you still pulling 1:3 ratio expressos? I have a barista touch and I can't have it pull 1:2 shots.

Oh you might have to pull a manual shot to bail your preferred ratio!

@@HijabsandAprons got it! I will try. I’m liking this coffee “chemistry” thing now. Thanks again!

Hi - love your vidoes. Do you recommend the Crema or Normcore bottomless?
Both are great! I do really enjoy the hybrid option for the Crema ones, but of course it's an additional cost 🙃
Great channel. I bought a whole bunch of Crema products due to your videos.

You didn't see the "paid promotion" disclaimer?
I can run 21grams with my bottom less porter filter now 🔥
How about single shot? How do you split it?

Beautiful video 😻
