Zoom Multistomp as a Stereo Double Tracker

  • Just a short tutorial how to use the Dual Digital Delay as a Stereo Double Tracker. The key is to have short delays (below 50ms) for a tight sound and set both the feedback controls to zero. Use slow but deep modulation for slight pitch variation. The modulation depth control also determines if the effect is mono or stereo. Stereo mode will pan delay A hard left and B hard right. The mix control the dry/wet ratio, set this quite low for a more subtle effect.

Thank you for this no need to buy a Mimiq doubler.

Yeah I had that one for a short while, couldn't get a useful sound out of it. It sounded phasey in every setting and I couldn't dial it out. The doubler setting in my HX Stomp isn't that great either.

This is probably a really dumb question but, for the effect to work, do you need to be using the stereo ins and outs? If that's the case, would you need two amps?

For the full effect you should at least use the stereo outs and for an even broader sound you could use 2 amps. In this case I used 1 amp and around 0:20 you can hear how it sounds in mono when the depth control starts with an M for mono.

What does your signal chain look like? Do you use 2 amps?

Nope. My Ibanez RG470 goes through the Keeley Mini Compressor and TC Electronic Sentry into the Line6 HX Stomp with the Das Benzin Mega amp sim, which is modelled after a Diezel VH4, with the stock cabinet. That output is looped in the Boss RC-3, goes through the Zoom Multistomp with only the Dual Digital Delay effect and both outputs are recorded in my DAW.

Did you use the stereo outs or just the mono output going to your DAW?Thanks
      Edit:
Oopps sorry just saw your stereo cables 😅

I don't think I understand your question. You tried this and it sounded like Royal Blood? That was not the sound I tried to make in this video.
