    I have the newer version of that cart and a 7 cubic foot dump cart. I’m a 70 year old fairly healthy old lady gardener and I love both carts. The dump cart is new, bought on sale last fall. These carts allow me to stay fully active with my gardening! I think the dump cart is amazing. For me, it is so much better than a wheelbarrow and it has a flat, level bottom. The only negative I’ve had with it has been the ridges in the bottom as I use it to mix up potting soils for all my container gardening pots.
    BTW, I keep both inside when not in use.

    We're getting some snow over here in Milford for about 45 minutes now. I'm glad I loaded up my indoor firewood rack yesterday. Cheers!

      Yes sir. Snowing good here as well. Brought in a 1/2 cord load of Ash today and cleaned the chimney 👍

    I have this cart, it gets a lot of use mostly in the yard around the house, I think it was well worth the cost but the side spaces are not great for 16" firewood. My father has a DR versa trailer that is pretty neat, but it was a whole lot more expensive. He has had it for at least 8 years and uses it a lot with his ATV. It has different configuration options, dumps and articulating wheels. It's medium size, a little small when you have a tractor, but good for an ATV. He likes it.

      The DR versa trailers do look nice. There are a few nice ones in that style like the MUTS. As you said though, a much different price point, and requires a tow vehicle to use. The open sides of the GOR 1400 are a bad design for sure.

    Good morning Case. My Bri-Mar dump trailer started popping powder coating after 2 years and I don't use it on salt roads. It appears they didn't remove the mill scale from the steel. There was/is residue on the back of the paint when it peals and the parent metal is clean under the spot from where it was removed. Good video.

      Sorry to hear that Kevin. I agree, proper surface prep is key. Sadly it seems that many companies skip that step to save time and money

    Great review, thanks. I really like the wood sides you made. Most of these carts and similar GT trailers appear to be over rated with the weight limit.

    • @BuildALotAcres
      @BuildALotAcres  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. I miss the “built 5 times heavier than needed” manufacturing from years past. Todays manufactured items look nice and shiny, but never seem to last more than a few years.

    Not apples to apples, I used a 40"x48" two wheel trailer and mounted an IBC tote on it. Most of the trailer frames that size are rated for 1000# or so. Guaranteed I have put way more than that in it, slow speed in the woods. I liked it so much that I purchased used another trailer frame to do the same thing with.

      @BuildALotAcres  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very nice. I have a couple of tow behind garden tractor carts. Definitely handy. Good idea with the IBC tote 👍

    Great video Case. Powder coating on anything never Impressed me. Look at utility trailers of any size that are powder coated black. All are rusty in a few years. Could be the metal is rusted before it gets coated and/or powder coating is just no good.
    Just my opinion, everybody has one.

    • @BuildALotAcres
      @BuildALotAcres  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes sir. I’ve seen a few very good powdercoats, but they were never on oversea made products

    Anything we buy for outdoor use that is Made in China should be painted when it is brand new using Rustoleum 'epoxy' spray paint Before it begins to rust. The wheel hubs/shafts should be greased during assembly. For the Money it is a good deal.

    • @BuildALotAcres
      @BuildALotAcres  ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree. For the money I think it’s hard to beat. How many coats of the spray on epoxy do you do? How long have you found that it lasts? Thanks for the suggestions 🙏

      @@BuildALotAcres Reply: The Rust oleum epoxy paint is called/marked on the can as Appliance paint. I love it because of it's adhesion ability, I have never had it peel off anything I have used it on.. It is great on steel wheel-barrels also. One cost and them look it over for missed spots. It is a low luster semi-gloss when dry.
