Wilson was picked as QB1 in the pre-season. The only reason Fields started was because Wilson was injured. As soon as Wilson was fit, coach gave the position of QB1 back to him. I get tired of people talking about the steelers playing other teams in the north. Go back and look over the past twenty five years of history. We have owned every team in that division, year in and year out , including the ravens. We hold a dominating lead on all 3 of those teams.
Man, I thought I was trippin. After the Lions destroys the Cowboys and the Vikings, the undefeated team, just played “yesterday” as well. One of the “biggest” games of week 7 and we focus of popular franchise teams. The hate is real.

Russ stayed prepared because Russ was QB1. JF only started in the first place because Russ got injured. If Russ had started those games, the Steelers would be 7-0 right now. People act like JF got benched. He didn’t. He was always QB2. He just returned to his original spot. Russ’s 2023 stats were better than all three Steelers QBs’ stats combined! Theres a real probability that Russ would have led the 2023 Steelers to the SB, especially given the types of wins he racked up midseason, beating the Broncos’ toughest opponents. JF can’t spin it like Russ can, and if you go down and check all the mixes you want in a QB, JF wins maybe 5 out of about 25, and that’s barely. (1) Height: it hasn’t resulted in any great production for JF. He doesn’t even throw over the kiddie as well as Russ does. (2) Speed: His YPC are about 0.5 better than Russ’s, and Russ has a lower sack rate (9.1% vs. 10.9% in 2023) and much higher first-down% (47% vs. 37% in 2023). But let’s keep it 100, JF will juice Russ in the open field. The question is, how important is that in a balanced offense, especially when BOTH QBs can outrun first and second-level defenders? Russ was 8th in QB rush yards last season (2023) on almost exclusively non-designed runs, right behind #7 Mahomes. That means Russ was on his own and picking up yards. Btw, he only played in 15 games, and two of the QBs who finished ahead of him weren’t even full-time starters (e.g., Joshua Dobbs). Russ was ostensibly a borderline top-5 rusher last year. (3) Overall Size: Yet Russ has been the tougher, more durable player, missing just 7 of 195 games in his career until this year, and two of those were coach’s decision. In 3.3 seasons, JF has missed more games than Russ has. Again, what is the result of that overall size? (4) Likability: Russ is a socially awkward guy, but he isn’t nearly as disliked as the media will have people believe. Need receipts? Even after his Denver experience, players from multiple teams were RECRUITING Russ! That tells you how revered and respected he is for his ability and leadership. Even most of his Broncos and Seahawks teammates liked him, and despite their rocky relationship, Richard Sherman still defends Russ on occasion. JF is obviously beloved, and people can see why: he oozes charisma and humility. But he DID throw his Chicago coaches under the bus during an interview, which I believe led to his getting traded away. Still, he’s a very likable guy and a solid leader. (5) Youth: This one is tricky. I made a post about why this wasn’t the advantage people think it is, but I’ll give you the abridged version here. Only four QBs age 25 or younger have won SBs in the past 24 years: Brady: 23 Rothlisberger: 23 Russ: 25 Mahomes: 24 *Note that Russ won his SB in his TRUE second year while Mahomes won his in his third year. Russ played pro baseball before entering the NFL draft. Only 8 QBs have won SBs before age 30 over the past 24 years: Brady Rothlisberger Dilfer (29) Rodgers (28) Flacco (27) Russ Foles (27) Mahomes The four QBs listed among that list of 8 who did not win one at age 25 or younger were 27 or older when they did win, and only Russ, Foles and Mahomes were below the age-30 barrier while winning SBs over the last decade. If you include Flacco’s win from 2012, that still only gives us four. Two of those guys are HoF QBs, and Flacco is borderline. Only Foles is not a HoF QB and wasn’t when he won. These trends do not bode well for JF in the near future for one simple reason: With the exception of Dilfer and Foles, the other 6 QBs were showed HoF potential very early in their careers. Given these FACTS, what reason is there to believe that a one-dimensional QB like JF has the ability to replicate those other performances over the next 3-5 years, let alone this year? People get hyped up on young QBs, but BETTER QBs have all failed to win SBs recently, sometimes losing to so-called “old QBs.” Not counting Russ’s loss! Mahomes lost to Brady Goff lost to Brady Burrow lost to Stafford Cam post to P. As a steeler fan. Im glad we have both Russ and Fields. I look at Fields as the long term QB of the future of my Steelers. They have to undo the 3 years of bad coaching from the multiple regimes in Chicago. Russ can teach Fields and Fields will be better for it in the long run. I still would want the Steelers to pay Tom Brady to work with Fields behind the scenes as well. I also hope the Steelers go get Max Crosby and pair him with TJ Watt.

This show Speak is supposed to be lead by Joy & Associatetes. Give Paul Pierce an A for Effort being from NBA as player with Celtics and still learning. Keyshawn has been around with ESPN Sunday or Monday Countdown and Kellerman/Key/Williams Radio Show on ESPN. This is all Joy Taylor. The best Seasons of Undisputed with Skip and Shannon with Joy Leading. The Herd; Colin put me to sleep, yet Joy made that show watchable. Acho, McCoy, and Jones the Facility; formerly Speak. That is all Joy Taylor, from the second version of Speak. Colin Herd, Jason Wilcox, and Macelliis Wiley were horrible.
