I really appreciated how you spoke about trauma and you really gave validation for those who are survivors. Jazakum Allah Khair. When I became Muslim, everyone was like “just be thankful, no need to feel, your not grateful.” There is such a dismissive cultural attitude is how trauma affects our entire nervous system, which is not in our control. The reality of sexual, physical and emotional abuse.
it's because it didn't happen to them or their loved ones. my islamic psychotherapist forced me to forgive my abuser by downplaying the abusive acts by saying those things were just the past and it could had been worst and have the nerve to say "wait until I use manipulation method on you(to force my forgiveness)". I'll not forgive this therapist and will wait for Judgement Day to see how he'll answer his many misconducts to me in front of Allah(since he said the same to me when I addressed his actions). I'm grateful Allah makes a Judgement Day and really looking forward for that day. I hate manipulative ppl who are deluded esp. in mental health practises where ppl seek supports.Eating the weak=no balls.
@@knisayusufMay Allah, al-Haleem wa as-Salam help you find peace and patience until justice is served for you on Judgement Day. As-salam عalaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu
This episode is one of the most powerful and emotional ones for me. I literally broke down in tears when Ustadh Nouman explained the profound lesson on Ayah 58, about Yusuf A.S’s flashback and emotional trauma. Even though I never really had an experience like that so far in my life, I felt the pain of Yusuf A.S. How NAK explained it striked me so much it moved me into tears. I never connected with the Quran the way I’m connecting now. SubhanAllah. Alhamdullilah. I’m just so in awe and mind blown.
Now, I understand the why it is said that this is the best of stories. This must have been the biggest blockbuster then. Can't wait for the brothers to come back with Benyamin and their father.
The biggest lesson for me in these two ayat is "Be good to people despite what bad things they've done to you". And this called in Arabic "Ehsan" and it's the highest level of Eman. May Allah grant us Ehsan so that we can be close to him in Jannah. Ameen
Found these treasures 2 yrs later. Hope they stay for generations to come. Each episode is immensely valuable. This particular one though resonates the most w/ me so far! May Allah bless NAK & anyone who put any effort into it including the audience!
Ustadh WE are loving this series , Yusuf A.S and the words of Allah SWT so much more than before because of your efforts. May Allah reward you with the best in both worlds Ameen .

We can't even imagine the amount of patience Yusuf AS showed when he saw his brothers, no less abusers, after a long time. The abusers who scarred him for the whole life.. still, he didn't take revenge on them. May Allah make us one of those who can at least try to be like YUSUF AS.
Am loving these series with you ustadh NAK And a thought crossed my mind... can’t we act these series... so informative SubhanAllah. Seriously there is so much to learn and different people learn through different ways. Part of the daawa...

I am from Turkey and I try to translate your readings of this Surah for a website. Sometimes its difficult for me to catch up with you. Because you move so quickly from one thing to another. Because of that, sometimes, I can't finish the sentences. If I come to my main point, I didn't know much about this Surah, thanks to you, now I know much about it. I enjoy listening but on the other hand its quite difficult for me to catch up with you and translate. Hope I'll get better at this.
Could you put the series into one playlist (other than Ramadan series)? It might help some people like me who wants catch up with the Yusuf series (even though it's quite late)🙏
May Allah bless your work and your perspectives.. Hearts beat. And Bashar or Ensan have a cyclical core letter. And for anyone to achieve patience or anything , it will be achieved by returning to the closest to your heart. Allah reveals and hides what He wants, and Actions that are in the open suggest but one can fail short in describing those treasured hearts that seek Allah's path, and Allah is sufficient about one's wrongdoings.
Yusuf (A.S) sees his brothers. Their crime that led to a chain of events that resulted in so many bad things happening to him and ultimately being thrown in jail. The biggest hurt though not mentioned here, is the separation from his dear, dear father
Yousuf A.S kept it together during that time because I think that he always remembered what his father told him that it's all a plot of Shaitan and everything that happened to him, he believed Allah (swt) is with him and he was patient for Allah (swt) 😁
Can you sometime expand on how we need to be honest about how we may be the abuser. I think this juxtaposition is very important. I really never saw this before. Jazakum Allah Khair
Thanks for the beautiful lecture! Just to add, I am wondering how much patient was Yusuf (AS) that he suppressed his belongings to his father that they only asked his brother to bring their half brother, not their father or right after did not send someone to bring his father! Subhan Allah!

Yusuf a.s. probably was anticipating the coming of the brothers, for two reasons: 1. Allah had promised him they'd meet again but they wouldn't recognise him, and that'd be because he'd be so changed in appearance and rank. 2. the famine had reached Canaan and they would likely search for food in the only prospering nation.

I actually think that theory makes a lot of sense about the census and background checks, sometimes we forget that even though it was ancient times they had sophisticated systems in place too I mean how else did the Egyptian dynasty last more than any others
There is one thing i can't understand about this beautiful story. Why Yusuf (a.s.) is not saying the truth for the first time he sees his brothers? So that they can bring the family back. Why he tricks his brothers? Also, his father Yakub (a. s.) became blind after that incident.

Nowadays people will let their abusers know what was done and; the abusers will be so cowardly they go straight to denial as well as victimhood.
