The final 10 minutes were profound. The way Ustadh brings in human psychology and links it in with the Quran is genius.

Mashallah. He puts everything in such an easy and comprehensive way that leaves No confusion. I cried the entire time I was listening. I been wronged by my family over and over. I have tried to be patient but lost my cool every time. No matter how much my wife tells to keep my cool and I swear I will do so but when the time comes, I donot. At the end I feel hurt and sad and ashamed.Allah knows that I tried to to bury the past and all their wrongs but every time they hurt me, all the past wrongs come running to my mind and take over and then I lose it. I will inshallah do my best to be more Patient and Leave it all to Allah. He is all knowing. JAK.

    Summary(Important Points)
    S. Yusuf 83: Beautiful Patience Again?
[Jacob] said, "Rather, your souls have enticed you to something, so patience is most fitting. Perhaps Allah will bring them to me all together. Indeed it is He who is the Knowing, the Wise."
    Surah 12, Ayah 83.
    1. The phrases "Rather, your souls have enticed you to something" and "so patience is most fitting." are exactly the same to what Yaqub(AS) said to them before when they did what they did to Yusuf(AS).
    2. The word he(AS) says "Instead" raises the question "Did he(AS) actually reject the story of the brothers?". This is important as the brothers are telling the truth now unlike the other time. There are proofs that they are telling the truth unlike the previous time.
    4. Since, the situation is unlike the time before, the meaning of his(AS)'s words now is unlike the meaning of the words of that time.
    5. Like they attempted to kill Yusuf(AS) physically, they attempted to kill Bin Yameen's dignity.
    6. "The dignity of a believer is greater to Allah than the dignity of the Ka'aba." words of the Prophet(SAW).
    7. The brothers said Bin Yameen was a thief without a shadow of doubt, the words came out of their mouth so easily. This is just another branch of the evil they have. That is the first meaning.
    8. The brothers never attempted to fight for Bin Yameen. They abandoned Bin Yameen just like they abandoned Yusuf(AS) before. It is a convenient tragedy. This is the second meaning.
    9. The brothers did something wrong to Yusuf(AS) before, this can be a punishment for that sin. "You made this easy for yourself" means that "You brought this upon yourself". The effects of the sin they did is still continuing. This is the third meaning.
    10. The situation is that your own family members are hurting other family members.
    11. When loved ones hurt you and people around you are hurtful, then you should resort to patience.
    12. Patience is not complacent, just like the last time, he(AS) is saying that he(AS) has done everything he(AS) can and he(AS) knows that it is completely out of his(AS)'s hands now and he(AS) will do whatever he(AS) can to not lose hope in Allah.
    13. The brothers are still the same abusers as they were before but Yaqub(AS) is not going to allow the hurtful things they did, change his(AS)'s relationship with Allah. He(AS) is still going to have faith in Allah, patience is still beautiful. This is an important lesson that we should learn.
    14. It means patience is always beautiful but it is especially beautiful in ugly situations.
    15. When you are patient, you are doing something that Allah sees as beautiful. It is beautiful enough for you because Allah sees it as beautiful.
    16. The greatest fortune according to Allah is patience.
    17. When you love someone, doing what they like makes you happy. If this is about people, how much more is it when it comes to Allah?
    18. If you lose something, that is a loss in this life and it makes this life beautiful but if you replace it with something beautiful which is patience, then it beautifies this life and also it beautifies the next life too.
    19. Faith and patience are sometimes interchangeable in the Qur'an. One dimension of faith is having patience for what Allah makes us go through.
    20. Patience is beautiful because when you have patience, the end is beautiful. Yaqub(AS) knew this.
    21. If you have patience while being obedient to Allah then the end is beautiful but you won't have to wait till the end to see it beautiful, you already know it is beautiful.
    22. To Yaqub(AS), the most beautiful thing is seeing his(AS)'s children again, yet he(AS) put it next.
To Allah, the beautiful thing is patience and he(AS) put it first. That is submission of the heart.
    23. Patience is beautiful whether what we hope happens or not. It is timeless.
    24. Nothing in your life is constant except patience. Yaqub(AS) understands this.
    25. The fact that Yaqub(AS) had to verbalize this shows us that we all need reminders no matter how good our faith in Allah is.
    26. The real nature of our connection with Allah comes out when we are dealing with people who hurt us, not when we are praying.
    27. Don't have hope in the person that they will change, have hope in Allah.
    28. What Allah is planning for Yaqub(AS), it is full of wisdom. At the end, Yaqub(AS) is acknowledging that Allah knows everything, He knows the plan and Allah is wise, His plan is full of wisdom. Whether it happens how Yaqub(AS) wants or not, he(AS) is acknowledging that Allah's plan is full of wisdom.
    29. You will be getting problems again and again and you have to navigate through life.
    30. When you are going through the plan, you won't see the end, but when the end comes you will realize what Allah wants to do.
    31. Talk to Allah, have conversations out loud with Allah.
    This ends the summary.
Apologies for the font size of the Ayah, if you see it in the mobile phone then it is big enough to read.
Anyone who thinks I have missed some point is welcome to reply but please give the time in the lecture when Ustad Nouman Ali Khan talked about it so that I can be sure.
    JazakaAllah Khair

I saw your video after a long time and I really needed this. I was in a state of skeptism and doubt about human beings interpreting the word of Allah and that human beings can interject whatever they personally feel about an Ayah in tafseer but seeing this video today makes me feel that maybe it is Allah who put me here watching this video and really felt as if Allah was talking to me and counselling me through the Quran.

@Habiba Siraj InshaAllah, but we can try our best to at least find peace within ourselves in this life.
Btw, I'm sorry if I came across as aggressive in your other comment, I really didn't intend that.

    • @ArdoBlueMoon
      @ArdoBlueMoon 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@Habiba Siraj It's a fair question. Well there are 2 reasons why Yusuf pbuh stayed a slave- 1) Practicality, he was a young child in another country, he was treated graciously by al Aziz and when he got out of prison he became the Aziz.
      2) It was Allah's plan for Him to stay. Allah sometimes clouds certain ideas from entering a person's head, like such as when Musa pbuh told Pharaoh that Allah is the One who makes the sun rise in the East and set in the West. Pharaoh, if he wanted to, could have said "that's my doing, tell your Allah to reverse the cycle", obviously Musa pbuh has a potential answer but that would have created extra obstacles for him.

🤯mind blowing. Is it amazing that the tradition goes that half of the worlds beauty was in Yusuf AS. But we are so material and we think of the superficial beauty. But the beauty this surah is propounding on multiple levels is the Beauty of sabr and the pain and ugliness of the story gives us a sample of one side of the spectrum, just to give us an idea of the opposite side of this -the beauty of sabr here and in the other world.
Thankyou Ustaadh I wish I had this understanding 10 years ago

also what i imagine is that when they came to their father and told him ur son has stolen maybe their tone and their faces had this smug and proud smile as if they were happy bcz in their heads their father's love was placed in the wrong person. like imagine telling someone some bad news with a smile on your face, at first they won't believe it then they'd probably punch u in the face for laughing at their misery

@Amir Hamza You have a limited knowledge of logic. The genes don't equal emotions. When I feel excited that I am going to see my father 😊 after years of separation, this feeling is not reducible to the make up of the chemical components of the DNA because this claim means that you inadvertently believe that chemical reactions and neural electrical messages equal the feelings of love, care, joy, fear, etc. Go and read about the mind body problem that made your masters in the west in complete amazement.
The worst thing ever is a person like you who suffers from compound ignorance; you are not even aware of your ignorance 😄, this is hilarious.

    BENEFITS OF ISTIGHFAR
►Istighfar removes anxiety and Du'as are answered.
►Istighfar opens the door of sustenance.
►Istighfar opens the door of mercy.
►Istighfar opens the door of knowledge.
►Istighfar is also gateway of productivity !
►Istighfar relieves you when you feel that sadness within you, when you are disturbed and frustrated, and also when anxiety surrounds you. Always say Astaghfirullah Astaghfirullah…
    ~~Don’t leave Istighfar
    A man once came to
al-Hasan al-Basri and complained to him: “The sky does not shower us with rain.”
He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness (i.e. say أستغفر ألله).”
Then another person came to him and said, “I complain of poverty.” He replied: “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.”
Then another person came to him and complained, “My wife is barren; she cannot bear children.” He replied:
    “Seek Allah’s forgiveness.”
The people who were present, said to al-Hasan: “Everytime a person came to you complaining, you instructed them to seek Allah’s forgiveness?”
Al-Hasan al-Basri said, “Have you not read the statement of Allah? ‘I said “
Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Truly He is Oft-Forgiving. He will send rain to you in abundance; increase you in wealth and children; grant you gardens and bestow on you rivers.”‘” [Nuh (71):10-12]
There are two things in the earth that give a person safety and security from the punishment of Allah.
The first has been removed, whilst the second still remains.
As for the first, it was the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). “Allah would not punish them while you were among them.” [al-Anfal (8):33]
As for the second, it is istighfar. “Allah would not punish them as long as they sought forgiveness.” [al-Anfal (8):33] أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله… أستغفر ألله…
    Do not ever leave istighfar!
Please share and remember that you will receive the reward for all those who make istighfar, due to your reminder.
    Astaghfirullaaha wa ‘atoobu ‘ilayhi.
I seek the forgiveness of Allah and repent to Him.
(Recite one hundred times during the day)
It was reported in Saheeh Muslim that Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.) said: “I seek forgiveness one hundred times in a day.” [Muslim]
    Du'a for seeking forgiveness:
    Dua of Prophet Adam (A.S.)
Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa in lam taghfirlana watar hamna lana koonanna minal khasireen [7:23]
”Our Lord ! we have sinned against ourselves and unless You grant us forgiveness and bestow Your mercy upon us, we shall most certainly be lost."
    رَبَّنا ظَلَمنا أَنفُسَنا وَإِن لَم تَغفِر لَنا وَتَرحَمنا لَنَكونَنَّ مِنَ الخٰسِرينَ
    [SURAH AL-A`RAF, VERSE 23]
Du'a of Yunus (A.S) repenting to Allah in the belly of the whale:

LAA ILAAHA ILLAA ANTA SUBHAANAKA INNY KUNTU MINATHAULIMEEN” [21:87]
“There is none worthy of worship except You. You are pure. Verily I am amongst the oppressors.” [Al-‘Anbya’ 87]
Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessings be upon him) said about the Invocation of Yunus “None who is experiencing difficulty employs it except that Allah would relieve him of his difficulty.” [At-Tirmidhi]
Nooh (A.S) asked for the forgiveness of Allaah The Almighty, repenting by saying:
Rabbi Inneee A-o’od’u Bika An As-alaka Maa Laysa Lee Bihee I’lm Wa Illaa Taghfirlee Wa Tarh’amneee Akum Minal Khaasireen [11:47]
“My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking that of which I have no knowledge. And unless You forgive me and have mercy upon me, I will be among the losers.” (Surat Hūd, 11: 47)
We must recite this dua’a to have full faith in the wisdom of Allah under all good and bad circumstances because Allah is all-knowing; and humbly seek His help to keep ourselves on the right path.
Say: Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun, tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni.
(O Allah, You are Most Forgiving, and You love forgiveness; so forgive me).
Say: Astaghfirullah al-ladhi la ilaha illa huwal hayyul qayyum wa atubu ilayhi
It says in hadith, whoever says it seven times his sins will be forgiven even if he should have run away from the battlefield.
    Say: SubhanAllah wa bihamdihi
Whoever says it hundred times, his sins will be forgiven even though they may be as much as the foam of the sea.
Say: la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la shareeka lah lahul mulku wa lahaul hamdu wa huwa a la kuli shay’in qadeer.
And say the many other forms of repentance that are prescribed by Allah.
ALLAH HAS FULL ABILITY TO GIVE YOU ANYTHING YOU WANT! AND ONLY HE (ALLAH) HAS THAT ABILITY.
The Prophet ﷺ said, “Verily your Lord is Generous and Shy.
If His servant raises his hands to Him (in supplication).
He becomes shy to return them empty.” [Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi]

    3. You can hope but if Allah decide otherwise, you have to adjust your expectations of Allah again having to go through sabr again. Is it better to just believe in what Allah wills and having no expections or false hopes?

What i learned is:Do what you can, say what you think is right, but don't lose hope, and be patient if nothing else you can, then patient is good thing you have.
Hope for best, always hope big hope for what you want always pray from Allah, what you feel and what you want from Allah he will surely give you, its all mind game.
Like Maryum AS belive on fruits without season and Allah give him Friut (Essa AS).

Six ways to earn even after death:
    1. Give a copy of Qur’an to someone. Each time one reads from it, you gain.
    2. Donate a wheelchair to a hospital. Each time sick person uses it, you gain.
    3. Participate in building a masjid.
    4. Place watercooler in a public place.
    5. Plant a tree. You gain whenever a person or animal sits in its shade or eats from it.
    6. And the easiest of all, share this message with people.
Even 1 applies any of the above, you gain.
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him’. (Muslim)

    جزاكم الله خير كثير
It's common psychology to project one's short comings and sins on others and circumstances.
So Yaqoob said has made appear levelled in measure for you , your Inspiring Self and Ego to Command and act on the matter.
Asking the town in age, or the camel trade caravan in which the came upfront , is building a narrative argument for the Self and father.
The self protect itself at all costs and preserve the status quo and build arguments for its falling empty desires, taking advantage of people and situations. This narrative adorns and beautify the world view of the نفس , similar to شيطان the far Off right fullness and grieving for former status, projecting all his sins on the human.
And Yaqoob after reminding of fault in their thinking and behaviour says the beautiful conduct for a parent that in this situation patience that is beautiful ,in good conduct, and rewards for the future concerning his children and relationship with Allah.
Such beautiful conduct of Yaqoob, when most parents, would feel hurt, or angry or curse, or abuse, or give lecture, or appeal to emotions or appeal to caring and upbringing and try to possess children as property rather than Allah gift. Yaqoob will use patience with توكل on Allah to change the situation for him and his children by offering the best conduct. And keeping alive his hope that perhaps Allah will bring them all together. Indeed He is The Most Knowing, holding to Utmost Wisdom and that is what happened in reward for his beautiful patience and that of Yousuf.

    جزاك اللّه خيرا
It's truly beautiful, and I hope that Allah can grant us the sabr, understanding and wisdom of Yaacoub A'layhe Al Salam. I have a small nitpick and I don't claim to be at all a A'lim or anything of the sort, and this is not a nitpick on the premise at all, but I think that the Son of Yaacoub who stayed behind was, from my personal understanding of the Soura, actually sincere because in the Ayat that come before Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'alaa says:" So when they had despaired of him, they secluded themselves in private consultation. The eldest of them said, "Do you not know that your father has taken upon you an oath by Allah and [that] before you failed in [your duty to] Joseph? So I will never leave [this] land until my father permits me or Allah decides for me, and He is the best of judges."
It is as if he is taking a stance against their decision. I do understand the distinction in the coming soura of "our father" and "your son" but I still think it's coming from the sincerity of the eldest who stayed behind due to the oath he took not just out of fear of the effect on Yaacoub Aa'laye Al Salam. But as Always Allahu A'alam we say and sorry for this long comment
    والحمدللّه

My father spend all his life working to feed his ungrateful maternal family.
Only after he passed away is when he was finally free.
My sick and twisted mothers side of the family treat my mother like garage and have the nerve to use religious blackmail to control and walk all over her
Its put a stain on her financially as a widow and has damaged her health 60+ years of patience and still no hope of anything changing for the better.
The only way to have any form of patience is to cut out toxic people, to be happy then worship Allah is to listen to Allah and tie your camel then lead your life.
Selfish to be happy especially if your hearafter is at stake
