Thank you for watching. A topic that has been covered many times, but is essential to understand. This video has lots of on screen advice and tips - Enjoy
forgive me if you’ve answered this somewhere else..do you have a run down on your “H” harness and the bags? i’ve realized that i need to start working on another LBE kit..thanks!! just recently found you and your vids are EXACTLY what i’ve been looking for…i’m so tired of the rediculous music and thinly veiled political views on most of the other gun tubers
As a former 11b infantryman in the US Army, we were not taught very much camouflage beyond laying down and being still. This kind of field craft was not necessary to train guys for urban combat in the desert. I really wish we had been taught to a high degree of competence these basic soldier skills.
my all time favorite subject. My dad was an old-school CAF 2RCR sniper veteran, I'm not sure but from reading lots on the subject of individual concealment techniques; I think the Canadian army uses the British army TTP's. Dad showed me how to make a 'vegetation wheel' out of alder and gutted paracord, how to lift sods and lash them to yourself and then poke vegetation into them, how to use dirt, coal and clay to make face paint, the concept of (back then) size, shape, silhouette, sound, color and movement, the 5 V's of the body, how to use cam cream on any broken ends of vegetation so it doesn't dry and create bright floating ovals lol. He had unique ideas, too, like running cordage through your suit so you can tug vegetation up so it's vertical while you're horizontal or vice versa. He showed me how to utilize dead ground and micro terrain, how to use pantyhose to cover glass, all kinds of cool shit. I remember getting glared at for not stepping properly in the bush 😂 for using branches as hand holds that shake the tops of trees.
@@Echo_Mike thanks for making videos that aren't all cheesy and silly. Videos with a professional bearing that convey the serious nature of the subject matter.
I have made myself kind of a ghillie cape from an old camo uniform jacket with a hood. I can just throw it on my shoulders and close it with one buckle. I have spliced the sleeves completely open so the slivers will just hang freely on my sides and break the outline. Of course there are also all kinds of ghillie stuff hanging from it and natural stuff can be added.
The old cam sticks we used were so hard. Big dope was used to soften em up. Also I like how u carry your right shoulder CAT. Great video sir. Thanks again. Look forward to all the videos to come.
As a mountain hunter I will use all of your tutorials going forward. My face camo attempts have been atrocious compared to yours. Excellent video son 🙃
I think a lot of people over do it with the face paint. Setting a solid base is good, but don’t go too crazy with the darks. As you get further away, they will blend together and then you might as well have just put brown or grey all over your face. There should be a good contrast between them. So for us pasty white boys, use the green to get rid of the shine from sweat and your natural oils. Rub it in there, but it’s okay if it just looks like your face is a little dirty and not painted. Use black on the bridge of your nose and chin, brown on your cheek bones and then leave some space for your “dirty” looking white skin between your dark vertical/diagonal lines on your face. Again, too much of the paint ends up blending at distance, and then you can clearly see a face, just a darker color. It’s especially important for that not to happen if you’re in an environment that works really well with MTP/OCP/Multicam, since it is generally light in color that blends with some lighter browns/tans well and some patchy greens well, when looking at it against those color backdrops. But a dark blotch of face (because the colors blended together at distance) staring out from a light camouflage is NOT what you want. Think macro pattern. Or wear a camo mask with paint around your eyes, if it isn’t too hot.
Bam, first comment. Keep it up brother. I look forward to each of your videos. Got some webbing and a bergen all from JayJays. MUCH better than any of the chest rigs or any other kit I've bought. Been training all these techniques out in the woods. Feeling like an infantryman again.
You make some great points, especially about thermal - if I want a really good pair, that's almost a year's worth of salaries in my poor Balkan nation.
Excellent tutorial. I couldn't help but notice your very shiny arm badge when the cam cream demo was being performed. That has to go. or a subdued version needs to be sourced.
It’s in the works, I’ve had to digitise and translate it all. No English version exists (apart form mine) currently in 3 parts and some last translating to do
As someone who's gone hunting with thermals, I think they're overrated. At night, yes they're amazing but during the day the sheer amount of hot rocks, tree trunks in the sun, makes seeing something the size of a deer hard past a few hundred meters, let alone someone actively trying to hide.
Thermal vision works best at night but high grade military FLIR has vision modes to use during daytime operations….if your willing to spend 50k$ to 100k$ LOL…..

@@davidoftheforest appreciate that man. Thank you. That’s a big part of the reason I started this channel.
Move slow and let the camouflage do the work, love it
Camo hats give out characteristic dark straight line if not broken by foliage or nets.

There’ll be a few Section Commanders in Catterick basing lessons off this video I reckon 👌
Good job buddy!

Great video, thanks very much for this. Again, the basics, done to a high standard, practiced and refined over time.
God bless 👍🏻🏴✝️
Glad you enjoyed, 🇬🇧

JayJays is the absolute best! I built my forestry rig off of their patrol yoke and PLCE webbing lol I have storage capacity for days
@@davidoftheforestthat's rad you adapted it for forestry. I'd love to see that setup.

I am so erect rn. Well done mate, this encompasses everything I’ve been thinking about camouflage in NPE or EE situations for past several months.

That’s just the channel Echo Mike badge, it stays on for all videos

uploading/linking to the swedish manual would be cool
