It’s your boy uh skinny penis Most normal people don’t over sexualise people but go off. Koreaboos are disliked and having a race fetish or doing creepy stalker shit isn’t normal.
The real issue with the kpop situation was that he called the fandom a "gay twink fetish" I couldn't care less if he liked kpop or not. But if that's his idea of a joke it really didn't land.
@@sommerblume9671 but a lot of kpop fans do have a fetish for them. Like all they think of is Kpop and to be honest I personally think a good 40% of BTS fans in particular just like them because they a the biggest group right now and they think their cute.
@Kawi yeah, It's crazy. I personally don't like shipping people in general evening in anime or cartoons. Real life people though is when it becomes toxic.
Shelbylee Still does not bother me, and I’m Korean (American) and a late 90s/2000s kpop fan. You’re just offended because you relate your identity as a “kpop fan”. And it’s only offensive if it’s true😂 Btw they did hear that comment at 1:08:53 and still didn’t find it offensive
why didn't David actually like find out what H3H3 said and let Joe know? Cos it wasn't just along those lines :/ I feel like they talked about the topic without really understanding the full context of it
@@Laura-Yu oops guess I was wrong. my bad, I stopped listening halfway through. let me rephrase then, I wish they did that from the start and not 10 minutes before the end of the podcast
Korean youtubers have already said that the issue of the whole H3H3 thing is that one, they called the whole genre of kpop as a "gay twink fetish" thing (which bothers people because by Western societal standards, asian men are on the lower part of the totem pole but oh well) & have even commented about the suicide thing. Fans are often (always) hyping up their artists, then you have the antis the fans fight with, but NETIZENS are constantly criticizing these celebrities. Please do not undermine these suicides as being caused by "fans" when, esp internationally, fans are so upset about these issues. But international fans' opinions won't matter as much compared to domestic fans, the netizens, so this is where the community is at. I wasn't too bothered by Ethan though I am Asian because I do enjoy edgy content, but people don't seem to be mad about him hating kpop (which he clearly says). Its these comments, not to mention him talking about little girls masturbating which was odd but yk...I feel like you guys missed the point since you didn't really quote what Ethan said until listening to him at the very end? Maybe its because you guys like Ethan? Not sure but, people in the west do say things about Asian men being too feminine (as an example) or not masculine enough to be attractive even though that is our western standard attempting to be applied to the rest of the world. I think that’s also why people get aggravated about it, like that journalist. Edit: YES Jae from Day6 is so talented! Glad he met you guys :)
Funny how those 3 words he said made me write 2 whole paragraphs about it. You guys are overthinking it waaaay too much. People told him WAY WORSE after like, how he should kill himself, how all white male were disgusting, etc etc. The RESPONSE from the kpop fans was something so much worse than the 3 words he said. Thats something people gotta realize.
@@TheSmartCinema I don't understand why people's responses to what he said should change the fact of what he said (it wasn't 3 words, it was more than that) Crazy people who tell anyone (including celebrities or actors etc) to go kill themselves in general shouldn't be tolerated. I dont think your comment really added to discussion cause you're focusing on responses instead of content. I never said it was okay to make those kinds of responses either lol. And yes, I have a tendency to write a lot so its pretty normal, thanks for pointing it out
I honestly feel like theres always been "crazy fandoms," like i remember going on twitter a couple years back and there was the whole cutting for Bieber, and One Direction. I think because kpop is "the new big thing" that people are paying attention to it a lot more, and combining that with the whole "cancel culture" it's just a big boiling pot of toxicity. 😬
Jannet Rodriguez I remember the cutting for Bieber but not one direction. I was once a fan of 1D back in middle school but I immediately stopped when I witnessed a super fan. I gagged at the sight of them
for context, it was not about him disliking kpop at all. people constantly are generalizing fans down to prepubescent girls (that apparently are only there to get off to korean men, haha) and its just belittling? to fans AND korean artists? lol imagine being told ur fans only like you because they want to x you, not bc they acknowledge your talented. it may be a “joke” but i didn’t see anyone in the room laughing. and it happens all the time on twitter and by other big platformers and its just enabling their fans to be racist and derogatory. ive seen it firsthand and its so tired.
I think fans have been hardcore here in America I remember when Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez broke up they were both getting death threats and crazy shit just for example. People are insane lol 😂
I wish yall could've integrated the video so we could watch it on youtube same time yall was seeing it. And yall described it for the ppl on spotify or whatever
I think people got heated not because he really talked shit about kpop but because he made sex jokes about little girls or at least that’s what I saw the most on twitter, but then there were also a lot of people angry that he generalized their fandom to little girls idk
Def agreed on this video. Been a kpop fan for a while but I've def accepted the dark truths around it. The jokes weren't like funny to me but it wasn't offensive to me either. Wasn't worth attacking anyone over, just move on. I think it's up to fans to try to curb the negativity and promote the positive results of kpop.
Honestly, it's not even just Kpop fans who act delusional. Fangirls of Western pop artists are no different. Look how crazy Justin Bieber fans are or One Direction. They're CRAZY about them. I think it just seems like Kpop fans are like this because David is Korean and that's what he's most familiar about.
People are mad bc of the fetish thing and the little girls masturbating thing but I don't care if he or others like kpop. I just think that he didnt have to say that last part, but what ever. The people that went crazy are probably teens or very obsessive crazy immature fans. I love you guys.
I'm a little disappointed that David actually watched the video from the first topic but left the second one just for interpretation. It would have been nice to actually get his full opinion on the exact words he said, his body language, mannerisms, and the tone in which he said it. I honestly I'm not that much of a Kpop listener, though I do like it, I've grown out of that following phase, but the way home boy talked about it was really disrespectful, and though I understand it could have been a joke he made a lot of generalizations and also had his facts wrong about the suicide amongst Kpop idols. When David say the are mad because he doesn't like Kpop and generalized what he said he really downplayed it like it was nothing. And for me it really did come off in a offensive way. Though we all have our own opinions, that was disappointing to see.
I know brother nature started it but him getting stomped on in the head that many times, I’m surprised he didnt have to get admitted into the hospital. People literally die like that Edit: I commented before watching the whole thing, they mention this in 21:47
Well men overall is stupid... it is not worth to harm anyone just for ego.. force should Only be used in selfdefence and can you subdue without risking leathal damage to yourself and the others then do that... ppl forgets that they can kill someone and this is why we have police.. wish that asp Rocky called the Police insteed of fighting..
I"m not into Kpop, but I'm not sure if they would so quickly dismiss David Bowie or Prince or Glam Rock as gay fetish twinks, so there probably is some sort of cultural bias in play here also.
17:30 I think that’s literally how it went down on keems interview with the dude that beat up brother nature he says that his girl kinda went and riled him up
The first Kpop group/artists I knew were Koyote, Chae-Yeon, U;nee (she sadly sadly committed suicide too), and Baek Ji Young (Stephanie Soo did a video about her. It's pretty crazy because fans back then were almost as crazy). I also grew up up listening to Epik High (I love their new album. I actually heard of them when I visited Korea when I was in 6th grade and a student there told me about Epik High), BoA, 2NE1, Big Bang, and I few others.
I thought he was hispanic not lightskin... well whatever. Nice segment btw. There's always two sides to every story and as a great poet once said: don't start no shit won't be no shit.
As a kpop fan I CRINGE at those overly protective fans like just like the music like the person to an extent it’s like would you act like that in front of ur idol? If yes do u think they’d be like “omg thnx” and not have a scared look in their eyes. Like, bro. Some of you guys r creepy.
Booboo Dream Exactly, and people offended by Ethan’s comment are overly sensitive like those crazy defensive fans. I am a Korean American and a late 90s/2000s kpop fan and I wasn’t at all offended by Ethan’s comment whatsoever. Was it funny? Nah, but not at all offensive
Sorry David but a grown ass men joking about little girls in a sexual way is not okay, yes maybe he was trying to make fun of the fandom of Kpop but that joke was not funny or okay. That’s why most of us were upset, we didn’t care that he said he doesn’t like Kpop or doesn’t understand it, the little girls joke was disgusting.
*O' Okay_ I've just wanted to thank you, for being "1 of a Kind" also for "Putting me this Early" my friend. But! Nice job & thanks, for playing video.*
it's interesting.. for the first story, they pulled up all the video footage to see the full story and both sides about the brother nature guy. When it's about a fellow comedian and kpop fans, they don't bother to check the footage. It's immediately, I love his comedy, and kpop fans are obsessed little 14 year olds. Great research guys. It's sad that they had some good points to say about the industry but their credibility is shot from not understanding the situation before using it take make their points.
Basically why I quit watching JKnews. I thought it was funny at first but then I started getting really pissed off that no one at the table of 8 people knew the facts of the story before giving their input on the issue making themselves look stupid as fuck

I really wish they watched the h3h3 clip before talking about the topic and I wish he could of argued both sides how Ethan isn't wrong for having his opinion and that (non-crazy) people didn't like his choice of words, because they are in their right to have an opinion about that as well. I was a bad joke with offensive words. Also maybe branch out on the possibility that Ethans "Not understanding the how this is a thing in 'Western' Culture" is possibly a subconscious form of Xenophobia and how this is an American issue. Just how I would of liked to see the Podcast go
Just some insight from someone whose relatively active on specifically army stan (bts stan) twitter & has been a kpop fan for a pretty long time; the h3h3 is over party wasn't at all about not liking kpop and more so on many different factors of h3h3's statement. Nobody's hard pressed about people who dislike kpop for whatever reason, but there's also the fact that kpop is openly discounted for the heavily dolled korean boy groups & in general the fandom culture of those who are following these boy groups. People usually disregard any basis of substance with kpop because they assume it's just "manufactured" & these idols are wind-up dolls and their fans are just googly eyed in love with these men & women & the basis of their support is on physical attraction towards these groups. I'm mainly talking about boy groups because tbh their fans ARE the loudest. But honestly, from what i've seen, the most annoying/frustrating part of the kpop experience is when people just 1) assume that you can't be in it for the music; kpop isn't real music in the first place, we all know you like these boys because you think they're attractive (and if so? So what?) 2) immediately after assuming you like kpop for the pretty men, they immediately talk about how they're not really men, they're women bcos of the heavy makeup, or say things like they're gay, or other rude comments like that. I'm not denying that those types of fans exist, especially because of what the kpop "experience" is (with variety shows, reality shows, on top of music & performance & dancing & all that). Of course the market is selling these groups a "fantasy," but just because they are being marketed in that direction, that doesn't mean their fans are taking it in that way too. A lot of the "women" comments seek to invalidate korean men in the industry because they don't present masculine enough, reinforcing toxic masculinity & this concept that men can't do what's categorized as feminine. To more specifically address BTS fans, their reach on social media is massive because their fanbase is massive. They are incredibly loud and aggressive and sometimes for the wrong reasons, but their fans don't constantly chart BTS' discographies or mass-viral tweets or what-not because they think BTS are their "boyfriends." The reason ARMYs are incredibly aggressive towards people who use BTS' name/ add them into a conversation where they're unneeded / specifically use them as examples to perpetuate racism/ mysogyny/ etc. is because ARMYs are incredibly defensive when it comes to BTS' artistry. And for the climate of kpop fandoms, that is what is the driving force of anger that unites kpop fans to "cancel" certain individuals; fandoms can take all the stereotypes on who they are as fans, but they have no more tolerance for bigotry & there was no denying that h3h3 said things that perpetuated stigma not just on kpop, but asian men. It doesn't help that his statements allowed a forum for people to be openly racist under his tweets & while everyone is entitled to their own opinion and what they say, they should also be ready for the backlash that comes with what people can and will take these days. I just wanted to give my perspective on the whole situation from someone who saw it unfold & also wanted to clarify intentions of those who attempted to "cancel" this person. Though cancel culture in itself can be more harmful and also unnecessary given certain situations & I don't necessarily agree with cancel culture at all, I do see why people were so upset at someone perpetuating stereotypes to their relatively large fanbase. Not to say they were in the right for this; it's just a never-ending argument at this point. I'm a REALLY big fan of JK & David in particular & I know that some people like to give their opinions on only what they see (which is fair) but I really wanted to go more in depth on the situation at hand because I didn't see any comments explaining it from fandom perspective. I know this is really long & rambly & i don't expect anyone to read it either but I am a relatively younger fan & while I enjoy hearing Joe & David's opinions as it's always a learning experience to see things from an angle I would never think to look at, I also thought that I could also maybe provide insight!
As a Japanese American I feel like David does. This is why I stay out of fan wars and kpop online fights. I just listen to the music & would never do as they do and bully idols into depression and unloving feelings.
@34:24 damn I relate so much! Damn road rage...especially here in Cali. Once I threw an old banana peel thru this guys window...Poor guy didnt see that thing coming Side note: I don’t get road rage no more lol
I feel we have the same thoughts on the "Its fine if he doesn't get Kpop part" but I feel that that part wasn't the reason why fans are so mad. Most of them are rational people, but for those that really didn't commit suicide due to the positivity from the Kpop group I believe, like Joe defending Michael Jackson, they will fiercely defend their idol and that is on a another level, you are literally attacking their life saver. But David and Joe also make some good points, some fans are really toxic to other groups and stuff. Its really sad that idols committed suicide from the shit that toxic fans throw at them but we always have those outliers in any group and I feel that you shouldn't put them all in one basket. But other then that one point, they made a really good comment and explain themselves really well in their own context and understanding.
Id like to preface by saying idk a whole lot on this subject. Obviously someone wouldnt commit suicide due to positivity, what they were saying is that when a k-pop star does something those positive fans dislike, they are no longer positive and instead become toxic fans and send so much hate online that the k-pop stars they once showed love for end up commiting suicide.
I love Kpop and Korean music, and I was listening to Kpop before it blew up (started with SES, H.O.T., FTTS, 1TYM, etc.). I did not find Ethan Klein's comment offensive, but maybe it's because I'm getting old, and I think he's just joking around.
God hearing about HOT makes me feel so old. 😭 Also...growing up I hated the fact that I'm thicc. I have broad shoulders, a large chest, an ass, and I gain muscle and fat easily. I hated the fact that I couldn't be kpop thin. I had a serious eating disorder, but you cant change your bone structure.
This podcast would have become so much better if a kpop fan was actually having this conversations with you guys. We’d get to hear the good and bad from both sides...
I find it really ironic how kpop stans really hate being generalized but they LOVE to generalize other people. like. If someone doesn't like or can't understand why people like kpop, they're immediately labeled as xenophobic.
The other day, one of my best friends was telling me about this grew girl we knew that called her a "b*aner" (slur against Mexicans. My best friend is Mexican/African). A week or so later, the girl got jumped lmao. We don't even live in a "tough neighborhood". There are so many trashy Kpop fans. I love Kpop and I love some of their groups. My favorite right now is Sunmi.
I whole heartily agree Fandoms need to calm the fuck down. But mostly (and yes I said MOSTLY, not all) everyone on my timeline was mad at this particular comment Ethan made “How did this become a thing in Western culture, where all these grown men or little girls are j***ing off to little K-pop boys”. So at when joe read off what Jae ha Kim said (FYI she’s a Korean women and writes a lot for equal opportunity for Asian artist in the western culture), david said “what does that mean, why would you say that, that’s disgusting.” It seemed the whole time y’all wanted to call out the fandom. You actually said the comment was disgusting but then after hearing the actual podcast, justified what he said as he just doesn’t get it. Y’all continued to say the fans were mad because he said he didn’t like it, but it was repeatedly stated it was because of the comment. I hate what happened to Amber. That was hugely uncalled for & if the video was left up, those of us defending her could have shown she really didn’t know. But that wasn’t just the Kpop fandoms coming for her. It was the other toxic people on Twitter as well. Jae has said before that as an Asian person, she wants to see more Asians in movies, music & politics. But then we have people like Ethan that doesn’t get why western culture is accepting it. Now that other races come to the defense, we are all labeled as toxic 16 yr old white girls with a fetish. I’m 31, Hispanic & will like Asian guys & Korean bbq if I want to! Doesn’t mean I fetishize it. Maybe I fantasize about it but who doesn’t fantasize about big, delicious, juicy Korean bbq.
The suicides were not caused by Kpop fans but rather they had other issues (like sexual harassment and anti-feminist hate) blown up by the media and online general public netizens. There are crazies in the fandom but it's because we're so big that some of these stuff go unchecked. Also, please understand the context before talking about it. As someone who's Asian, and western media is so huge that you can't not consume it, it becomes exhausting when we have to prove why we like what we like to people all the time. I know we don't have to but we always have comments like Ethan's "it's a gay tw*nk fetish" and "little girls j*rking off to little kpop boys". Like no sir, don't reduce what we like to just those disgusting descriptions. It's upsetting. He can hate Kpop, he can hate BTS, he can joke about anything really, but it just wasn't funny and it sounded hateful and it caused a lot of his followers to start attacking others in the Kpop community.
I think that the westerners who complain about "the korean pretty boys " feel threatened by them in a way because they might not "fit the standard" anymore. But women feel insecure like this all the time. When you compare what you like and what you find ugly for example you said " skinny girls that look like 13 year old boys with flat ass an no boobs" "on the verge of death" are not your thing which is perfectly fine but the way you say it sounds like those very few that do like them are blind, creeps or something.. that doesn't sound good at all. So those who feel threatened by pretty men/boys should either learn to deal with it like women do or ask themselves why they care so much that western women are changing their preferences. Besides, changing preferences doesn't mean they'll be successful in getting into relationship with them, it's more like admiring from afar.
I'm really into kpop right now, I love it, but it was really hard to take other fans seriously when they kept posting cute videos of their favorite idols or promoting their own twitter on their tweet defending kpop. Some of them were saying some reasonable shit, but posting it with cute videos didn't help their case.
yo david i'm sure you follow the nba a little and was wondering if you were down to ever post some content sharing casual opinions on stuff going around in the league. i can see that shit being funny/insightful as hell #holdmadick
Its kinda hard to explain when you only have one prespective but the whol h3h3 thing wasnt about him not understanding or liking these groups. Its kinda about WHAT he said and HOW he said it. I think most didnt gove a fuck whether he liked them or not. Most of the demographic of certain groups is 20+ and 40+ guys/girls/nonbinary Its true a good amount are manufactured but lately a good amount have complete creative control of their works 🤷🏻♀️ idk its hard....
What you don't realize about kpop more about BTS is that what is happening to them the " idolization" has always been a part of the culture but it was always to the white boys. The fact that asain boys are being idolized has never been seen in pop culture and thats why it's getting a lot of attention. I honestly think it's alot to do with growing up around racism that its difficult to process that a bunch of girls find Asian guys attractive. There is alot of crazy fans in every fandom. You are just not exposed to it. Look at the crazy sports fans. They are actually violent.
I’ve been a huge kpop fan but also I’m not stupid and know this is all manufactured. When I was younger my dumb ass would get but hurt when people hated on it but the new kpop fans are fucking crazy to the point I still love kpop but I now distance myself from it. These new fans are fucking psychos sometimes. I agree with y’all completely. But also those idols do work hard af and I feel bad for them for how they get treated by both their companies and fans. People need to learn to take jokes and fucking chill
luckyxxxxk yup. Older fans are hardcore and dedicated by buying merch, going to concerts and watching live streams while having a job and life (so they can 100% support this life style). It’s kinda like a hobby actually
Linda Thai yea I knw bc that’s what she does duh. We just went to a jay park concert last month. I’m saying she does not participate in cancel culture or drama dealing with social media. That was the point of the comment.
western culture was introduced to the more androgynous look by the beatles compared to their predecessors, and parents liked that their kids were becoming fans of them compared to elvis who was considered blasphemous at the time compared to the beatles who were viewed as "safe". so this kpop thing aint that new HOWEVER these fans are da cray cray
Saying kpop fans attacked h3h3, didn’t he attack them first? Everyone’s opinion aside. If kpop fans have to listen to the music and shut the fuck up then why couldn’t H3h3 shut the fuck up? I dont know. Maybe cause it’s his job 🤔
Sucks how TheRealTarzan aka mike Holston got attacked and defend himself and he still went to jail meanwhile this dude brother nature assaults someone on video and walks free
Crazy fans existed in every generation in pop history from beatles to new kids on the block, from britney spears to justin beiber..the difference is current kpop exists in the world of social media. That's the difference, the toxicness of fandom is not unique to Korea.
Thanks for the Jae/Day6 shout-out but… You claim Ethan does his homework before speaking, well he, the western media and you got it all wrong. Kpop fan culture and the system that create idols are toxic af but you can’t make a casual, blanket causal statement that “fan comments/culture” led to the idol suicides. If you wanna talk about the real issues, let’s talk about the culture of toxic masculinity that drove men who aren’t even fans to curse out, riot, criticize and belittle female idols who read feminist books or choose not to wear a bra in public even though she is otherwise clothed, and created men who went up in arms over Kim Ji Young, Born in ’82 because it spells out the toxic culture in their faces and all they can do is say how dare women even feel that way and that they don’t suffer inequality except in their minds and men who were so triggered they wanted the movie banned before its release. Oh and how about a culture that doesn’t believe mental health is a real health issue and that if you’re “rich” and famous you’re not allowed to suffer mentally because you have “everything” even when an idol openly admitted that she is depressed and all they can do is criticize her on both her live IG stream and on the articles about her even though a close friend of hers committed suicide a year ago. That was courageous of her especially given the culture yet people put her down instead of cheered her on. The women who recently passed all received such BS criticisms not only from general netizen comments but the reporters who clearly framed their articles to throw shade at them. Blaming suicides on kpop fans or the kpop system and spreading this idea is terribly misguided and doesn’t raise or address any root causes.
Just saying toxic masculinity from the west would never shame a girl for going braless, that is eastern ideology. I dont know nearly as much about the topic as you seem to for the record, but do you really think that the majority of hateful things such as to curse out, riot, criticize and belittle female idols came from people who are not invested in any of that scene and it is a result of toxic masculinity? I mean i am a prime example, and if i were to see a load of hate about a person i have never seen before for doing something like reading a feminist book ( which by the way is - or should be about equality ) or going braless, then id be appauled as those two things are not shunned in western culture as far as i have seen and are things i personally agree with. The main cause for these kpop stars suicide was due to the harassment they faced, and it makes little sense for anyone who isnt a kpop fan to send hate to this person, and therefore the kpop fanbase, or at least a large majority of them - are sending hate to these people and caused them to commit suicide. The second half of your message you kind of lose me, if you are saying that western culture thinks that mental health isnt a real health issue and that rich people are not allowed to suffer then that for 1, is a blanket statement, 2 is not true, if youd like an example, david so himself, a person raised in western culture said on a recent podcast about depression that even if you have everything that does not alleviate mental health issues - nikki limo on her podcast also said that people in the richer part of where she lived struggled with mental health issues. Appolgies if i misunderstood. Critics and kpop fans are the only people who would actually care enough or let alone notice what these kpop stars do and say, and therefore are the large, large majority of the hate which causes these unfortunate suicides to happen.
@@Jkcmd you've completely misunderstood, my comments are all about Korean culture/society and clearly stated as so with examples among female idols. I never mentioned Western culture except the media who jumped on the bandwagon to claim that kpop kills. Hate has roots that are beyond public comments.
Why do you view kpop as "factories" and view, on the other hand, something like sports where they are doing essentially the same exact thing in a positive light? I think the criticism on kpop is OD. I think there's valid argument in that not enough of them get ownership of their art (I think some of them do). But beyond that, why view it negatively and not like a school or a gym? It's something they're choosing to do and they're learning how to perform at high levels. Afterwards, they have the skills to do whatever choreo, whatever song, English and Korean, learn regular celebrity stuff, etc. I feel like a lot of the times as Americans, we see something being approached a different way and assume our way is the "normal way" for something to happen and then find ways to criticize the way the other people are doing it. But we might be doing the same thing in a different context but then make excuses for why "thats different."

😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kpop fans are intense.
They're fanatical. Not a good thing.
Their Oppa doesn’t care for them, only their money.
"shout out to jae from day6" YESSSS DAVID!!! jae is fkn hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
54:44 I LOVE EPIK HIGH
TOO!!!! 🤩🤩 Omg, you should go on the Tablo Podcast!! Lol
I gagged at the sight of them
I feel like and hope most of the fandom will grow out of this phase because most of the directioners and justin bieber fans did.
1:03:19 “you mean the song they didn’t write, or produce, or choreograph?!”

A great way to officially start my morning. I just finished school yesterday and it's my day off 🙌🏾
They are talking about Sulli, Hara and Jonghyun for anyone who’s curiously
for context, it was not about him disliking kpop at all. people constantly are generalizing fans down to prepubescent girls (that apparently are only there to get off to korean men, haha) and its just belittling? to fans AND korean artists? lol imagine being told ur fans only like you because they want to x you, not bc they acknowledge your talented. it may be a “joke” but i didn’t see anyone in the room laughing. and it happens all the time on twitter and by other big platformers and its just enabling their fans to be racist and derogatory. ive seen it firsthand and its so tired.
Shout it to the people in the back! Amen to that. 👏
Ami Leopard periodt
ANDREW ANDREW yeah visuals and concepts are a part of kpop that people like to indulge in but keyword in my comment: only.
would love to hear ur opinion abt lily singh's late-night show and her top quality monologues
P Banwait she’s not funny what so ever. Good for Indians tho
Alejandrizzle26 agreed w almost everything except she bad for Indians and I’m saying that as an Indian 😭
P Banwait really? Explain?
I love listening to you guys on my way to work. It’s a great way to get some insight on your perspectives and enjoy the ride. Much love!
David’s toes got me distracted
Lol
Salote Sua no never 😂😂
Send em sum socks plz
Oh god. Now i cant stop noticing them. Ugh.
Julia Chow sucked on them
I think fans have been hardcore here in America I remember when Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez broke up they were both getting death threats and crazy shit just for example.
One day I hope to see Kim Jong-Kook on this podcast.
@Snowy Days Maybe someday, I know Gina is Kim Jong Kook’s friend. So it’s possible.
Nah have Park Joon Hyung from GOD. David gonna fanboy like hell.
45:37 for h3h3
People literally die like that
Edit: I commented before watching the whole thing, they mention this in 21:47
Well men overall is stupid... it is not worth to harm anyone just for ego.. force should Only be used in selfdefence and can you subdue without risking leathal damage to yourself and the others then do that... ppl forgets that they can kill someone and this is why we have police.. wish that asp Rocky called the Police insteed of fighting..
I"m not into Kpop, but I'm not sure if they would so quickly dismiss David Bowie or Prince or Glam Rock as gay fetish twinks, so there probably is some sort of cultural bias in play here also.
17:30 I think that’s literally how it went down on keems interview with the dude that beat up brother nature he says that his girl kinda went and riled him up
DAVID - idk if you know but Tablo from Epik High has a podcast, it would be cool if you could get him on lol
Firstname Lastname bro are u dumb
Pastor David really came out in this one.
I agree. It was so disappointing seeing them carry on the rapid/crazy k pop fandom narrative - it's so old.
Amy Y. They.Did. Did you not watch the podcast? 1:08:50
@@Laura-Yu I know they did but it was AFTER they talked about it. My point being they could have watched it BEFORE they talked about it.
Basically why I quit watching JKnews. I thought it was funny at first but then I started getting really pissed off that no one at the table of 8 people knew the facts of the story before giving their input on the issue making themselves look stupid as fuck
@@Unforgiven11 its called "JK" news it not supposed to be taken seriously. The narrative of the show is just a bunch of friends talking, your not supposed to go there for actual info and insight but for comedy.
Just how I would of liked to see the Podcast go
8:56 when Joe said that it fucking CLICKED, my brother-in-law, does a lot for his community but on the low he
also be doing ALOT of cocaine.
Lemme get my snacks for this
As a Japanese American I feel like David does. This is why I stay out of fan wars and kpop online fights. I just listen to the music & would never do as they do and bully idols into depression and unloving feelings.

i've been waiting for this🤗
I feel we have the same thoughts on the "Its fine if he doesn't get Kpop part" but I feel that that part wasn't the reason why fans are so mad.
@@Jkcmd Yup I actually meant that as well but kinda bad phrasing on my part
Thicc is in girl.
Work it!😊
Joe is my MCM.
This podcast would have become so much better if a kpop fan was actually having this conversations with you guys. We’d get to hear the good and bad from both sides...
Haha "why are these fans so angry?" "You make Korean people look bad" If only David So knew he is the one who is doing that.
I find it really ironic how kpop stans really hate being generalized but they LOVE to generalize other people. like. If someone doesn't like or can't understand why people like kpop, they're immediately labeled as xenophobic.
human nature and natural selection just sorted out brother nature , how ironic
The other day, one of my best friends was telling me about this grew girl we knew that called her a "b*aner" (slur against Mexicans. My best friend is Mexican/African). A week or so later, the girl got jumped lmao. We don't even live in a "tough neighborhood".
There are so many trashy Kpop fans. I love Kpop and I love some of their groups. My favorite right now is Sunmi.
This video made me so proud of A.R.M.Y.
At minute 23 LMAO!
Besides, changing preferences doesn't mean they'll be successful in getting into relationship with them, it's more like admiring from afar.
you should try to get markiplier on here i always forget he’s korean but he was talking about wi spa and i was like he gets it
I'm really into kpop right now, I love it, but it was really hard to take other fans seriously when they kept posting cute videos of their favorite idols or promoting their own twitter on their tweet defending kpop. Some of them were saying some reasonable shit, but posting it with cute videos didn't help their case.
When ur not into K-POP anymore bc of the fandom and negative energy
I don't care for KPop, I don't get it either, but I think H3H3 is straight up trash. Everyone is wrong in this situation.
yo david i'm sure you follow the nba a little and was wondering if you were down to ever post some content sharing casual opinions on stuff going around in the league. i can see that shit being funny/insightful as hell #holdmadick
Not a kpop fan. But how can you say its comedy when the "joke" was straight up insults??? When, in the world of comedy, do we say "that's not funny"?
It's funny because for me Suga from BTS is a pretty boy. But I find him handsome mostly without all the kpop get up. 😂😂😂😂
I work at target and we sell Bts dolls and some old white lady in her 40s cussed me out cuz we didn’t have Bts dolls
😁😂
One of the idols that committed suicide was actually Amber's former leader in f(x) Sulli
Edit* bandmate not leader
Sulli was not the leader. It was/is Victoria
23:00 fuckin love joe LOL
Its kinda hard to explain when you only have one prespective but the whol h3h3 thing wasnt about him not understanding or liking these groups. Its kinda about WHAT he said and HOW he said it. I think most didnt gove a fuck whether he liked them or not.
Most of the demographic of certain groups is 20+ and 40+ guys/girls/nonbinary
Its true a good amount are manufactured but lately a good amount have complete creative control of their works
🤷🏻♀️ idk its hard....
I physically cringed so hard when David started reading Kpop stan comments out loud, that I accidentally hit my head on the wall
Jae was at the JK office?
I'm curious what do u mean by factories ?? I'm always confused lool
100% agree with David and Ethan on the whole Kpop situation
Peter chao retired the character and showed his real face and voice because his grandma pass and he wanted to be open about it
I’ve been a huge kpop fan but also I’m not stupid and know this is all manufactured.
You’ll be surprised at how old Kpop fans are. I know army who are in their late 20s and they are hardcore, dedicated fans lol
I didn't realize being in your 20s would ever be considered OLD. 😁😂
Salote Sua they’re not, but compared to 12 year olds, they kinda are LOL
luckyxxxxk yup. Older fans are hardcore and dedicated by buying merch, going to concerts and watching live streams while having a job and life (so they can 100% support this life style). It’s kinda like a hobby actually
@@Gaengar
So what you're basically saying that's it just a bunch of kids crying. 😁😂
Linda Thai yea I knw bc that’s what she does duh. We just went to a jay park concert last month. I’m saying she does not participate in cancel culture or drama dealing with social media. That was the point of the comment.
Two of the worst things about kpop, the prostitution ring, and the fans and how fanatical they are.
I want David to be my big brother.
Who is this Ethan dude I can vibe with that twitter post
western culture was introduced to the more androgynous look by the beatles compared to their predecessors, and parents liked that their kids were becoming fans of them compared to elvis who was considered blasphemous at the time compared to the beatles who were viewed as "safe". so this kpop thing aint that new HOWEVER these fans are da cray cray
Saying kpop fans attacked h3h3, didn’t he attack them first? Everyone’s opinion aside. If kpop fans have to listen to the music and shut the fuck up then why couldn’t H3h3 shut the fuck up? I dont know. Maybe cause it’s his job 🤔
Brothernature still dating daisy?? and that's why he acting sus? Just curious...lol

Crazy fans existed in every generation in pop history from beatles to new kids on the block, from britney spears to justin beiber..the difference is current kpop exists in the world of social media. That's the difference, the toxicness of fandom is not unique to Korea.

i'd rather get fisted than watch that imbecile
Thanks for the Jae/Day6 shout-out but…
You claim Ethan does his homework before speaking, well he, the western media and you got it all wrong.
Hate has roots that are beyond public comments.
k i love yall but h3h3 is beyond not funny trust me ive tRied to watch because they have very nice merch lol
Kpop would be mistaken as a gay thing in the 90s tbh. 😊
Maybe he's just old fashioned, as in true artist are born and discovered.
Not made.
@@salotesua9480 That's not true. Dancers take classes. Singers take lessons. Celebrities go through PR training. This is just all of that in one intense competitive infrastructure where they choose the top of the class.

I had said "old fashioned". The traditional grind so to speak. Im talking Old school, talent is discovered, not made.
