I had an L5-CES maybe 10 years ago. Mint. Mine had gold hardware. I think Michael's used to have that. Worn off, I guess. Stunning instrument. Carved back and top. Maple, as I recall. To be honest, I'm a loud blues guy. The instrument was lost on me. Lost. All I could do was look at it. Sold it, of course. But these are very real works of art. But if you want to impress your guitar friends, and others, get one and leave it laying around.
Hope Saxon gets to play that before it leaves. When I think guitar, that's it. Sounds great. A really good example of a top quality product. Enjoyed Jen and Mike. From wet cold east KY USA all good.
A 1966 with a Venetian (round) cutaway...unusual, as these mid-60's guitars typically have a Florentine (sharp) cutaway. Also, not sure what to make of the tailpiece, as these typically have a gold tailpiece with a non-gold metal insert, whereas this guitar has the opposite. The other metal parts appear to be non-gold as well. Perhaps a special-order guitar?
TOO MUCH REVERB! The jazz guitarist that played guitars like this used very little reverb if any at all. I want to hear the guitar, not a reverb soaked amp. 🤨
Man I love the deep sound of this guitar it's rich and deep . 🤘🏽
Wes’s Unidentified guitar solo is one of my favorite things to play “poorly”.
I get a lot of compliments when I tinker with a guitar at a shop.

The middle PU sound, wow!
The tonal range is out of this world. Flagship Gibson. Go Bumpin’ on Sunset w/ that thing Mike.
I’d love to see more these. The sound is distinctly different, richer.
🔥

It’ll be tough….it’s bigger than Saxon! 🎸😝
@ckelly5141 he will manage may have to get a stand like Stanley Jordan and a ladder.
@ 😝🎸👍
Michael, What is the name of the first song that you played?

PAF’s? 🎸🤔
Not old enough -- the PAF labeling stopped around '62'-'63.
@ O.K. I wonder what these ones are?
@@ckelly5141 -- Pretty much the same pickups as the last bunch of PAFs, but without the labeling.
