- A brass band from the small town Säffle in the west of Sweden! Here playing the famous hymn "Abide with me" at a concert in the City Church (Centrumkyrkan) in Säffle. Conductor Kjersti Skarpnes.

Thank you, from a grandson of a Swedish Salvation Army officer who was a missionary first to Japan, then the United States.
He helped abolish the Japanese custom of the poor selling their daughters to the rich around 1900.

I believe this tune, which I know well, was played on the deck of the sinking Titanic.

Thank you Hugo for the kind words!! However we think that it might have been "Nearer My God To Thee" that according to the tradition was played during the Titanic disaster. They two melodies have a very similar musical structure. Have a nice summer!
Wow! Fantastic performance of this great hymn. Well-balanced and blended wth the occasional Trumpet (?) rising over the chorus. Great for memorial services (mine??)
