- Julian Edelman joins Colin Cowherd just ahead of a big Thursday Night Football face off, where the resurgent Cincinnati Bengals will take on the Baltimore Ravens. Edelman talks how the Ravens and Bengals prepare for tonight's game with so little time to rest in between, and shares his expectations for Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson. Plus, C.J. Stroud is showing some teeth as the NFL season rolls on, and Edelman tells Colin he owes the Houston Texans quarterback an apology after his recent win streak. Edelman also details why Mac Jones has lost the New England Patriots locker room after their Week 10 loss.

k at Justin herbert new stats! He leads the NFL with the most passing yards in 1st 4th seasons in NFL history 16,438 passing yards in 1st Completion right now 1532. With a 3rd oc and without Mike Williams and a broken finger.
Edelman living off of Brady just like Josh McDaniels lol. Trash
Julian is by far, FAR, the best guy out there doing this bits. Always insightful, cool to watch.
Yup
Mark Sanchez is fire too
I can watch every single Julian Edelman interview more than once. Literally can’t get enough.
Same. Respectful, insightful, candid and always interesting.
Yeah, he’s always entertaining yet informative.
Straight up baller. Literally and figuratively.
I’m a Jets fan and love him.
Settle down beavis.
This has turned out to a be a must-see segment
Edelman needs to start his own podcast! Constantly see him on other people's podcasts. Always entertaining, animated, & honest. Plus his Belichick impersonation is hilarious! Lol.
He does (I think it's called 'Games with Names'). Def has some great commentary & good interviews
he's had one for ages... i promise you, if theyre a pro athlete, they have a podcast. Theres only about 15 ones that are actually decent though
@@justmedee What's the name of it..? I've never heard him on his own. Always been other people's podcasts...
@iamteao Good Lookin out!👍👊
Games with Names bro. It's actually quite good. Not the best athlete pod but definitely not then worst. @@ryanschultz4119
Great stuff
-a Bruschi Story
-a Aaron Hernandez Mention
-a newfound love for CJ stroud
Great interview this one
So no one's going to talk about how CJ Stroud totally debunks Collins whole theory that quarterbacks can't succeed with defensive coaches???
He just said a defensive coach won’t win a super bowl in todays NFL. Not that they couldn’t win games
@@airgasmYT No way he's said that young QBs struggle with defensive coaches. Shroud debunks his theory.
An exception confirms a rule.
@@tekoa.9450 Big Ben + Tomlin. Lamar + Harbaugh. Brady + Belichick.... too easy.
@@tekoa.9450no an exception is an outlier
Edelnut always delivers.
I would love a 2 hour show or The Volume podcast episode with Julian, I know he’s just at the tip of the ice berg with those New England teams & id love to hear more
His pod is called "Games with Names"
“ay Rook, you ever touch me again im gunna cut your arm off” -Tedy Bruschi 😆😂
“Aaron Hernandez…I know we’re not supposed to talk about that” lol
The streets will never forget Chico.
@@rashdaddypogboom2375 I know it's wildly unpopular to say it, but he was a phenomenal player.
@@sassylassie3061yeah he hand killer hands 🖐️
@@MauricioSandoval-xc9ihdied during his appeal so legally speaking he's not guilty
Edelman is an amazing guest
Oh lawd he mentioned Aaron 😂😂😂😂
my favorite part about the Cj v Bryce debate was Cj was docked for having more talent like Bryce was playing at Wyoming State lol. Dude was at Bama.
Mannnn listen! People just disregard Alabama and their stacked roster.
Dak had the best OL in football and Elliot. CJ plays with a people that didn't play together before this year. 12 free agents picked up this past offseason are starters. Texans also start more rookies than any NFL team.
I love this interview, he got into the insights of what NFL players feel and do to be great, loved it.
Edelman is one of the best interviews on TV, period, not just football.
I can hear Edelmans patriots stories all day
Comparing CJ to rookie Dak is laughable and a horrible comparison. Dak had the best line in football and the bear RB in football that year and was just asked to not turn the ball over. CJ is being asked to sling the MFing Rock and is 2nd in league in yards. CJ is averaging way more passing attempts and yards per game.
Dak is horrible he can’t read defenses an he can’t beat a good team an he can’t win in clutch moments so definitely suck
@@sheenaherrera7457I’m not the biggest dak fan and I definitely hate those cowgirl fans but he’s not horrible, he’s got one of the highest winning and qbr percentages in the league that’s gotta mean something
Does it really tho? Man has stacked teams every single year@@AtakeVsTheWrld
@@sheenaherrera7457I can’t tell a lot of y’all just repeat the stuff y’all hear from the media and haters Dak in his career definitely beat good teams and he’s so horrible that he top 10 in nfl history when it comes to touch down to interception ration and at the top of the league in game winning drives since he entered the league
Hey everyone can say what they feel in the end he NEVER DO ANYTHING HAVE HE WENT TO THE SECOND ROUND IN THE PLAYOFFS HOW BOUT WIN A SUPERBOWL AN HOW LONG HE BEEN IN THE LEAGUE WHAT 8 YEARS AN STILL CANT READ A FUCKN DEFENSE
That segment gave me goose bumps. GREAT!
Having Edelman as a guest is a truly great day on the Herd
20 min with Jules! Always quality content!
No NFL team will ever be the same as the 2016 patriots, idc what you say. Everything that team went through not only physically with injuries but the mental component was just completely unmatched. Walking into the locker room at half time being down 28-3 and still knowing with the injuries and the absolute beating they took getting absolutely embarrassed on the biggest stage and still looking each other eye to eye and believing “we can still win this game” was the embodiment of the most special locker room I can remember in all my years watching this sport
💯
julian has this presence where when he speaks... you listen and understand immediately
Please keep these coming 🙏🏼
18:30 there’s only 1 man that comes to mind when he describes this…. EDELNUT!
Julian and Mark Sanchez are the best guests…
Julian is so good.
everyone that watched college football last year knew CJ Stroud was the best prospect...especially after that Georgia game.
FACTS. Everyone hating on CJ just had anti Ohio state bias. CJ is a truly elite arm talent with the ability to make every throw on the field with the right amount of touch and timing. Plus he’s a solid athlete and extremely hard working and humble
hindsight is always 20/20 especially in the NFL. If Stroud was struggling and Young was balling out, thered be an entire different set of people preaching their predictions. Russ was a great example, many knew what he was at seattle, called it early, he went to denver and flopped and they felt vindicated. Now hes playing well again and you have those that concede hes playing above their expectations or those that claim they knew he was going to come good all along. NFL fans are the most vocal when theyre right. Youll rarely come across a football fan admit theyre wrong. Even Tebow and AB still have staunch supporters 😂
@justmedee so you're projecting and telling the future? Wow. You're amazing
i never understood the bryce young hype
Edelman needs a podcast. I get Mcafee vibes. He could be big time.
They’re obviously forcing this guy. Guess he’s the next company approved “ex-player” talking head
he has a podcast. Games with Names
Fantastic interview. I love hearing the athlete perspective. Jules keeping it real.
Wow, what a session with these two! Just awesome honest conversation. Loved the insights of a great football player dedicated to his work and describing one of the greatest football team cultures. Excellent video; the best ever Colin show!
Love listening to Edelman talk. One of the greats
Put some respect on Louisiana Lafayette of the tech industry
JE11 is a great guest
Mac Jones is about to play for the Indian Football league
He’s gonna be the tb12 of that league
I remember the 2009 season very well. The Pats got demolished by my Saints 38-17. I watched the game at the Chinese buffet on Camp Foster in Okinawa. It was one of the easiest wins the Brees ever had. 18-23, 371yards, and 5 TDs without breaking a sweat.
Ok rainman.
Monday night right?
Brees always got up for Brady. I hated seeing the saints on the schedule
I think the person hes refering to was Adalius Thomas
You were at a Chinese buffet in Japan???
Mac Jones is not ANY good. Colin always says real QBs elevate and overcome. Mac deflates and gets overcome.
Whenever Colin brings up ESPN, he sounds like an angry ex. Lol
And I can’t stand modern ESPN
Edelman is such a good story teller
Very well spoken; I enjoyed Julian’s insight.
Edelman is just a no nonsense, straightforward kinda person! Gonna miss his plays man, sooooo underrated!
Colin throws so much shade at ESPN every chance he gets. It’s hilarious 😂
I think CJ has the best throw I've ever seen. He SHOULD have a lot of confidence based of that basic skill, and I think that's the main reason for his success.
CJ is one of the best QB’s I’ve ever seen. I’ve been watching the NFL since 85.
“This is CREAM SEASON” is a wiiiiiild statement lol
Now Colin needs to apologize 🖕🏽
THANK YOU @ Julian for mentioning HERNANDEZ ❤❤❤
He needs to be on every week!! Love hear NFL stories. A lot of them have something that you can take and apply to your daily life.
At this point, Zach Wilson is playing better than Mac Jones.
❤ you Julian !!!!!!
That Bruschi story😂😂😂
I didn't KNOW for sure that Stroud would be this good this fast, but it sure seemed to me that from his first year in college, he was the best q.b. in college. And keep in mind, I HATE Ohio State.
He’s a great interview
Met teddy a few times when I worked at guitar center. He was friends with a guy who worked I drums that was teaching him and his kids guitar. Super nice guy
One of my favorite players ever...ED WAS THE MAN FOR NEW ENGLAND A LITTLE TOUGH SON OF A GUN...
Love how Edelman called the chargers from San Diego
Amazing insight by Edelman.
Edelman took a lil shot at Randy Moss from ‘09 eh? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I peeped that also lol
If Julian Edelman was in first things first I’d probably be pretty happy
It’s goofy because Colin forgot to mention it was Travis’s bye week.
8:07 What is Edelman talking about he rarely has to go to his third read???? He's going through so many progressions every game and distributing the ball to every one. His top four targets has between 400 and 650 yards.
Looking back getting rid of Anthony Lynn was a mistake Steichen was the best OC Herbert had.
They should get Ben Johnson
Easy like for the Hernandez reference
CJ is playing like superstar.
@18:31... was he referring to Randy Moss? 😂
The nuculous lmao
as a buckeye fan...everyone is a hater at some point...theres no need for an apology lol Stroud was the second pick its not like he was underrated.
I want apologies!!!! Go Bucks
He was precisely one pick underrated 😂
As a buckeye yes tf he does deserve an apology
@@FATMANSCOOP88 only apology he needs is from Jim and the boys for stealing wins and a Heisman from him
Oh boy. Again with the Dak Prescott comparison.
Shoutout to all my back up producers and copy editors
Nice job
Did this dude just say Herbert didn’t have the talent around him Wtf geesh the media loved making excuses for Herbert Wtf
Apologize to someone selected #2 overall? Every player has their haters and critics.
That’s usually how it works when somebody is wrong about something or someone
He was getting a ton of heat
Are you a casual or what?
I am glad the Texans organization never listened all the bash about CJ being dumb . The Media kept digging dirt on him.
I mean it wasn't hard at all to figure out why he apologized, he literally explained why 🤧
Great stories. Julian has a knack. His takes on the current Patriots should be tapped more as nobody can disect that offense better than he.
It was Trav's bye week cut him some slack 😂
What Edelman thought CJ Stroud would be is exactly what Mac Jones and Bryce young are!!! Easy to look like a NFL ready QB when all of Bama Wrs are 1st and 2nd round picks!!!
Purdy is learning to hit the curve too
Its cream season is crazyy! 😂😂😂
Hall Of Famer. No question.
Key Notes:
“ cream season “ , “ this is when the cream rises to the top”.
stroud has regularly gotten to his 3rd read. hes seeing the whole field, thats why what hes doing is so impressive.
Edelman always superb.......and on distractions, may I present the case of Dennis Rodman.......it's unusual, but some guys not only can, but also need to be themselves in-season
Edelman for Hall of Fame!
Will be interesting to see once that OC leaves the Texans for a head coaching job. Didn’t work out well for Josh Allen.
I think they are dismissing the fact thst Cj Stroud has great tagets to throw to. Very underrated receiving and TE corp. Obviously hes making great reds and throws but he has weapons
Man I wish it was San Diego
Difference is Purdy and Dak were surrounded with All pro players as a rookie. Stroud is making Noah brown and tank dell look like pro bowlers.
New england is a tough gig. Its not for everyone or the faint of heart.
Nico collins is a very good reciever so is tank dell
As a chiefs fan, i like julian edelman sooooo much more now that hes retired and not a patriot.
Colin was looking for Julian to talk negatively about the Pat's coaching staff imo
Cowherd definitely tries to bait whoever he interviews to go along with his opinion.
Love me some Edelman
I bet hockey players laugh when they hear football talk about the Thursday games. Their schedule is just crazy
" all the super bowl teams were the best teams "....that had me dying with laughter.
Best locker room but close
2009?? Edelman was a rookie in 09. Not sure how he could say what he’s saying on this subject.
Love Edelman but at 1:50? WTF. Herbert didn't have the talent around him. No, not completely around him but I'd love to hear how that statement made (at the time) 3 x, Pro Bowl WR Keenan Allen feel or Mike Williams or Austin Ekeler?
Mac just doesnt have the mental toughness. In alabama he didnt have to do much with all tht talent. He is who hes always been.
Edelnut from Moss
Brock is one of those that got hurt too you know.
Lol so he has beef with randy????
Bryce Young looking like Seth Curry out there not Steph😂
If anyone owes CJ an apology it’s Colin for saying he isn’t talented enough post draft
