I don't say LTD's are bad, they are really good, but compare them with an original ESP is just out off place.

Love that he looked into not only the heavy distortion but clean tone as well. You want a pickup that has it all.

+sergio doto I remember hearing Hammetts tech saying he changes his strings after every gig, so Hetfield probably does too!
+sergio doto They do it for Hammet and Rob, so I'm 300% sure that Hetfield gets fresh strings for every gig too. Besides, he hits the strings much harder than the two others so why not switch strings every gig having all that $$$?

@@rudycastillo6369 I need to put some in my Ibanez AX120 and if I get an Ibanez RG I would put the Het Set in that because not too many Ibanez guitars have EMG's because Ibanez players love Dimarzios but not me.

I like the snakebyte but the older esp explorers are my favorite. Since he pretty much reinvented the image of metallica into something that fits the modern world, I think it would be awesome if he made a snakebyte guitar in vintage white with a witty phrase written on the lower part of the guitar, just like the good 'ol days as sort of a nod to the past.
It's too bad that Gibson loves lawyers as much as they do
I don't care what the guitar looks like during recording, you have to admit that there are some brief sections in "Spit Out the Bone" where James recorded layers and layers of guitars on top of each other (the "Wall of Guitars") and the chromatic and melodic playing over the top of the doubled-up downpicking, with Kirks solo sendoff and Rob's bass all howling together in different pitch and tembor sounds incredible.
Absolutely cannot wait.
In my 79 les Paul custom , the sound is great and the vintage look with the brushed gold looks perfect!

I met James last year, and he is actually a really cool guy, he talked to my girlfriend and i for a few minutes and even congratulated us for our first baby, too bad he doesn't like pictures.
I've had EMG's in the past. I bought a Les Paul Custom that came with EMG's. I'm starting to like them more and more. Great video. 😎👍🎸🎸🎸🎸.

I wished he talked more about pickups and how he evolved to the Het Set. The headstock story is pretty nice though, didn't know he came up with the shape.

I put the gold Het set in my Epiphone Lzzy Hale explorer and they are my favorite metal pickups! The 60 in the neck has more character than an 85.

I always call Matt directly too when there’s something wrong with my ESP. Luckily I haven’t had any problems with my M-II, but it’s comforting to know that I have a hotline whenever I need him.

The EMG Bone Breaker is an AWESOME pup. I have only found 3 pups I would use in the Bridge, Carvin M22T, Ibanez V2, and the Bone Breaker, which is wonderful, because they don't make the Carvin M22T any longer, or the V2, and the M22T is the Bridge Pup in all of my axes, until now:)

Love all EMG pups. All my guitars have them in. Rob turner is the active genius pup builder period. For me 81-85 are the bees knees end of.
I love the 81/60 combo. I had the EMG 57/66TW set and Fishman Fluence Modern set and the classic 81/60 just does it for me. Nasty metal tones and dreamy cleans. That's about all I need.
I like the 60 over the 85. Piano like cleans. Waiting for my het set to come for my ec 1000. (And my ex black metal to come).

I honestly think that all ESP models should use EMG's pickups. Nothing against the in-house ESP pickups, but I think they should put them in more than just the higher end models

I have the LTD Snakebyte and it's pretty damn heavy in my opinion. Maybe because it doesn't have that contour shown at 4:16.
