Thanks for posting. I actually came looking for one of these videos as I was sure someone must have uploaded one. I visited the Star Trek Adventure many years ago while visiting California and saw them film this mini movie (with a different set of volunteers of course). It looks like they always pick a little kid to be in the landing party. During the filming I saw they told the four crewmembers beaming down to remain completely still as the transporter effect is filmed and then the little kid waved goodbye just like in this one so I'm pretty sure they're told to do that to make it funny for the audience. In fact, the whole thing was very entertaining. The guy running it was really good, he'd deliver color commentary on the "acting" and give hilarious stage direction. The names of the three alien beings were also intentionally hilarious. I don't remember the other two, but the third one, said to be the most powerful one was named "Iacoca" which got a big laugh from everyone. They also replay the Klingon captain's longest dialogue (the one with the laugh) three times, each time with different subtitles. I always wondered if someone who speaks Klingon could translate what he's actually saying.
Thank you for sharing that story I love hearing about stories about their time at the Star Trek Adventure I never got a chance to experience myself but I love hearing about everybody else's experience so bad that they don't do something new get fans when it comes to an attraction ride as an old Star Trek not the new crap LOL. I'm glad you enjoyed watching the video to. I did have an original copy that I found out of your thrift store and I was able to track the family down that originally owned it and was able to send it back to them. that was cool!
