Yea Idk where he’s taking things honestly, but given how there’s questions from Kingdom hearts 1 that still haven’t gotten pay off I don’t hold out hope that any of it would make sense in the next FF7
Filler Fantasy 7 Repadded. Triple A devs would rather give you a 200 hour padded game you only bear to play once than giving you a 10-20 hour game you'll repeat 1000 times
Nomura didn't write the story 💀research isn't hard to do. In fact, Nomura actually wanted it to stay nearer to the original than it ended up being. Regardless, I still think the story is great and well written.
People running cover for him doesn’t make the story any better. Whispers are just like heartless are just like unversed are just like nobodies. It’s a trope and just one and a very bad one. Who it’s assigned to is irrelevant
@@Djamp_htx I understand that covering Nomura doesn’t make the story good but I don’t think the story is bad at all. And honestly, your point makes no sense to me at all. Since when are Heartless/Nobodies/Unversed connected to fate within Kingdom Hearts? And even if they were, how does that make the story bad? The whisperers are a completely different concept.
@@KingdomKeyJT they are small, almost cute mook enemy that they insert for plot purposes. Their literal purpose is to protect and subvert plot elements. It’s corny, hyper-metaphorical writing. Similar to KH. “The lifestream contains all our dreams! Not just our memories!” Is a line that would not sound out of place in KH, and now in the rebirth series. Them being a different concept entirely is why they feel out of place in FFVII
@@Djamp_htx Thank you for stating what the purpose of the whispers are in the writing, that totally explains why the writing is "bad" 💀. Secondly, you call the writing corny but isn't that completely subjective? I could say ANYTHING is corny and it would be completely true in my eyes because it's a subjective topic. Remember, YOU are the one claiming that the story is factually "bad". Start giving me some criticisms that contribute to why the story is factually "bad" instead of just calling the writing "corny". I also don't think the writing is corny at all. Also, I don't think the whispers feel "out of place", the planet has ALWAYS been established to create beings in order to protect itself (the weapons for example), aren't the whispers the same thing? Like, how would that be out of place your points seem weird to me.
@@Djamp_htx You don't think its important to debunk the entire premise of the video, that's literally in the title? And what you say about the writing could be applied to the old FF games. You know how Tidus is a "dream" in FFX?
most of the "filler" and mini games are almost all optional. Just cause they "feel" like they arent optional for you, doesnt mean they arent optional. That just means they did a good job with making that content more enjoyable, like who doesnt want more side stories and time with these characters? That's the best part of the game. Also the OG had a ton of mini games as well so they were faithful in that sense. Why would you expect definitive answers for the 2nd game of a trilogy? The story isnt over, there's one more game that will give you all the answers, so thats a weird criticism. Also just because you don't understand it doesn't mean its nonsense. Sure we don't know exactly what will happen, but again that's because there's still one more game. So why not look up some fan theories and enjoy the mystery of whats to come? Just because you didn't understand things, doesnt mean no one else did. Getting others perspectives and opinions will help you realize this. Trash take dude. It's going to win GOTY.
If side stories with characters make a good game then Ever Crisis would be GOTY. OG had side activities, not huge resource and development intensive minigames and like 30 of them in which some of the best gear and material are locked behind. Saying “the story will PROBABLY be good if you pay $70 for the last entry where the devs again admit they don’t want to deviate too much and wrote this way specifically to generate discussion rather than with a vision” is not the own you think it is
@@preslim84 I completely agree with everything you said here, except sadly, Rebirth won’t be getting GOTY. Astro Bot is more likely to get it (despite me wanting Rebirth to have it more). And no, this isn’t me saying I think Astro Bot is a better game, I’m going off of game critic reviews which are the most important factor when it comes to the Game Awards choosing GOTY.
This game is a huge disappointment and failure and the degree with which its defenders passionately defend it and dismiss its criticisms nearly a year later is testament to that
@@Djamp_htx yea I loved remake, but the execution for Rebirth was very poor in my opinion, I had to actually force myself to beat it, the entire game felt like a slog because it kept pushing me out of immersion by forcing players into these filler sections where your forced to play as every other party member but cloud, Red xiii, cait sith, aerith, there not fun to play as at all for me, and then the execution of the story just made it all feel not worth it, like it wasn’t worth putting myself through horrible gameplay segments. To then get cutscenes that made no sense and weren’t engaging, like all the good is buried beneath a ton of bad
@@theofflinewarrior so did I! The previous game ended with “the unknown journey will continue” then rebirth proceeds to be 90% the same story except a few scenes being different or censored. Forcing playing a character in each chapter even if it doesn’t really contribute to the story, Red XIII changing his entire vocal octave. The game was written with the intent of generating discussion and buzz while they make part 3 a recent interview the devs admit this. This is why things like beach chapters when you’re supposed to be chasing Seph, shipping mechanics that don’t affect the story, flashy minigames and multiverse/dream world nonsense are so prominent. They really should have done a straight remake and just added elements of the other Compilation stuff like crisis core or Before Crisis etc in there.
You haven't done the research. Nomura didn't write Remake or Rebirth, Nojima did. A quick search on even wikipedia will show that. Nomura was only the creative director, not even the main director, and he actually wanted the remakes to be closer to the original. Kazushige Nojima is the sole writer of the game, and has done most of the FF7 Compilation with some contributions to Kingdom Hearts also. People always giving Nomura the blame cause its easy, when the structure of a development team is way more complex.
When the credits roll his is the very first name in Giant letters that pop up, and the definition of creative director is “A creative director is a leader who manages the creative aspects of a project or organization, from concept to completion. They are responsible for the artistic vision of a project and ensure that the final product is consistent with the company's brand” so the story and direction that game goes is Him

They took an original 2 disk 1 part game and turned it into 3 separate 70$ games pure money grab filler game especially cause it’s the second in a trilogy part 3 wil for sure be much better but it all Should of been 1 full complete game
I think they could’ve finished the story in this game honestly, and its possible they could have finished it in 1, Dragon quest 11 was like 3 games in 1 with a story that took close to 150hours to do alone
Mini games are optional queensblood is optional ! Game can be beaten in 40ish hours . Respectfully ... i would never say theres too much content its there if you want to do it!
