Pale and dark blue for the sky and some dark dots and a bit of white area. A pale grey building on right hand side. Some light trunks on right hand side as well as on left side. More dark trunks on right side. Dark long trunks on left side. More dark trees with leaves on both sides. Two lovely hills on both sides with bushes. The shape of these hills leaves a nice road in middle of this lovely scene. Beautiful shadows which make this scene looks more realistic and vivid. A very genial way to draw a building with no difficult detailsThank you Steven for this wonderful New video and instructive demos.
It has been far too long since I have watched one of your videos and as usual you never fail to amaze me. You start with a sheet of watercolour paper and put in the sky...by the time you get to putting in the trees my mind wonders how on earth is this ever going to look good...and then you add your bit of magic..some grasses, shading and a few other touches and before you know it your painting is transformed. I certainly do like your style of painting. Thank you Steven.🙃
For buildings I feel keeping shadow side and light side in my mind and getting variation into the color improved mine greatly. I have used your technique of scraping them out of a dark area with a card to great effect. Its simple and gives a unique impression. Scraping them gives them quite a unique texture to add a little color over the top of.
Steven, in spite of having a couple of ways to feel peace, the one I love best is while watching you painting and trying to follow you at the same time. I did that twice but my paintings are far from being like yours. Thank you for all
Steven I think it's a wonderful idea to draw "distant building in the same tone with no detail while the paper was still wet to try and create a misty, hazy look to the scene ". I'll follow your advice and technique because I don't like to draw buildings. I am watching you painting this "Winter Walk" Watercolor and I like very much the way you draw the building and trees around. Thanks for the great demo in painting the thin black trees on both side of this lovely scene. It's also a beautiful contrast with the pale background as well as the sky. Beautiful vivid colors you paint over these thin trees. Great demo with your brush adding some black color on trees and for banks on both lands. Love this painting Steven and thank you for sharing the video of this fabulous scene.
I like this effect, Steven. I think I might have taken more time with the tree masses and defined the limbs, etc. with a bit more care (detail). Overall it looks really nice, though. Love your style of painting. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Tony. Yes I think there's always a part of my painting I think I could have improved but I try and get as much of the detail to happen by chance.
Can i substitute daniel smith lemon yellow for cad yellow? I don't have a tube right now of cad yellow. Thanks for the incredible painting! Love your work.
I can only say give it a go and see how it works. I've always stuck to the same colours so I can't really compare them unfortunately but thanks for watching and very best of luck with your watercolours
@@StevenCronin Thank you for your reply. I didn't like how that color worked so i will have to wait until i can get a lower price on cad yellow. I just got DS raw sienna light and love it. I used up my cad yellow in a hobein half pan. so the tube next. May i ask which cad yellow u have light or dark? Thanks for your beautiful paintings.
To be honest I don't know if the yellow is light or dark. On the tube it just says cadmium yellow. I've never tried any alternatives so I can't really say unfortunately.
Very pretty, was wondering, the building in the background, it appears the light is falling on the top to right of it, however your shadows are opposite for the trees.
To be honest I just jump in head first into these paintings and don't really plan them so there are probably many errors somewhere in most of the videos but thanks for watching and very best wishes

Exactly my words. Always such a fine hand on the brushes!
I really enjoyed this one Steve You have a real talent for creating a scene with just a few strokes .I am thoroughly enjoying your tutorials
Thanks Catherine
Me encanta tu estilo suelto y espontáneo para pintar, por ejemplo las ramas de los árboles. Siempre te admiro y sigo tus tutoriales

Beautiful result! I like the way you break down the painting when it's all done. Wish more TH-cam artists would do that. Great Brummie accent btw! =)

I'm looking at a photo but unfortunately it's not one of mine so I can't show it for copyright reasons. Thanks for watching and happy painting!
