    I wonder why these heaters are unavailable in the United States? They only offer us the pool heaters that cost $1500.00 usd ridiculous when we pay only $450 for a large pool on sale then of course the pumps that come with pools are insufficient and a waste you must invest in an appropriate pump for pool volume and then to heat a purchase of at the cheapest begins at $1500.00 is insanity...but it checks out along with the countless other injustices we citizens born in the USA endure. Dont ever look at the United States as a place to find heaven...well, wait, IF YOU RELOCATE FROM A FOREIGN COUNTRY TO THE UNITED STATES YOU ARE TREATED LIKE GOLD...BUT IF YOU ARE BORN HERE IN THE UNITED STATES YOU ARE WORKING TWO TO THREE JOBS YOU RARELY SEE YOUR FAMILY OR FRIENDS YOU ARE SO EXHAUSTED THAT YOU EASILY BECOME ILL AND BY THE TIME THEY ALLOW YOU TO RETIRE YOU HAVE NO WHERE NEAR THE PENSION AMOUNT TO EVEN SURVIVE ...AND BY THE TIME WE RETIRE WE DO NOT LIVE MORE THAN 18 MONTHS FROM LAST DAY AT WORK SIMPLY DUE TO THE CONSTANT HARDSHIP STRESS AND ABUSIVE AMOUNT IN OF HOURS WE HAVE BEEN FORCED TO ENDURE JUST TO PAY BASIC SURVIVAL AND IN FACT TO NOT EVEN BE PAID ENOUGH TO HAVE FOOD AND SHELTER AND TRANSPORTATION...THE CRIMINAL COST OF LIVING AND OF UTILITIES SHELTER RENT AND PROPERTY TAXES AND CITY STATE COUNTY TAXATIONS DO NOT BALANCE OR COME CLOSE TO THE LIVING WAGE WHICH WE NOW HAVE RENAMED THE KILLING WAGES...THERE IS AN AGENDA TO STRIKE OUT THE MIDDLE CLASS AND ONLY PROVIDE A LIFE FOR THE WEALTHY HANDFUL AND TO GATHER ALL POVERTY LEVEL CITIZENS INTO AN AREA OF JUST POVERTY LEVEL HOUSING IN TRADE FOR SLAVE LABOR. THIS IS THE PLAN FOR US AS TRUMP AND PUTIN HAVE DECIDED FOR US.

      That’s a shame. The power for this is only suitable for the UK so can’t be ordered to the US unfortunately.
      Same here in the UK. Since the idiots of our country voted to leave the EU prices have shot up way beyond wages and we now live in one of the most expensive countries. We don’t have a great climate for growing foods so rely on shipping and are now being taken advantage of.
      We have the same problem with the rich getting richer and little or no help lower down the chain. We’ve had the ‘credit crisis’ and the current label here is ‘broken Britain’.

    Nice video filled with good tips & trix. I'm setting up a solar powered pool heater right now and my goal is 30°C / 86°F in the pool. I'm starting with 250 meters / 820 feet of 20 mm / ¾ inch PEM hose in a flat rooftop setup. A 20V rainwater barrel pump (2,000 liters - 528 gallons / hour) will be connected directly to a solar panel, so it's a completely automatic system controlled and powered by the sun.
    No sun = no pump = no heating.
    Since I'm located at 60° latitude in the northern hemisphere, I'll guess it'll be some problems and math to solve along the way, but it'll be fun.
    I've spent 250 USD for the hose, 50 USD for the pump and 50 USD for the solar panel. If it works, I'll have a pool heater for 350 USD that doesn't require any manuel labour and it'll run for free. You can follow this project and more on my new channel.
    Keep up your good work

      120V is not enough to drive a 3kw heater safely so they wouldn't mass produce a product for the 120V market - needs a 20 amp double pole breaker and a 220V circuit, proper wire gauge, it starts to need an electrician to get involved.

    Some updates I did with my intex heater, or rather the pool. I wrapped the pool in several layers of bubble foil, that I had on stock, and on top of the solar foil, that I am using all the time, i placed 2 cm thick expanded polystyrene blocks. Plus I covered the pipes with isolation too. Below the pool, there is a 2 CM thick foam carpet. There is a huge difference in heat resistance, and heating speed. The heater becomes very effective this way, and the more, the pool stays hot for long time, even if you turn off the heater...which I really advise, as if the temp goes over 35, the termo switch will turn the heater off, and will turn back on only, when temp drop to 28 degrees. Better turn it off manually on 35, that way you can turn back on even if drops to 34 degrees.

    How many degrees Fahrenheit did the heater increase with the index heater? I have a pretty large above ground swimming pool that has 5596 gallons of water and I need a heater that will definitely be able to increase the temperature like enough to make the swimming season at least 2 months longer so I need the heater to be able to heat the pool water up like 20 degrees Fahrenheit at least

      @@ChronicBongitis420 Just to know power converters (like the $100-200 ones) are rated for a short period of time (like 30 minutes). Continuous use would cut the rating of the converter by 1/3rd. So you need like a 9-10KW converter, and you start to spend $700+. Plus they can't be outdoors unless you get marine grade $$$. For North America just get a cheaper 5KW real pool heater and have an electrician install it. Be safe with pools and electricity please

      @MrCoreyCoreyCorey 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @October Bradshaw Yes, you can find them on ebay. I just bought one (in Canada) that a guy ordered from overseas. I'll tell you though, I didn't understand what I was getting into. The 3KW is the perfect size as I also have a 12' pool like this one. I started out with a connector adapter and then learned I was only getting 1/4 power. I should have just got a 5KW heater for a larger pool and have an electrician install. Now I will likely run a 20 amp dual breaker for 240V to the outside rewire the heater, and I need to research all the code rules regarding shutoffs/lockouts/etc, which I don't recommend anyone do themselves.

    • @MrCoreyCoreyCorey
      @MrCoreyCoreyCorey 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      For anyone else in the US/Canada, I'll explain all the headaches I've had in trying to get one to work. And I'm no electrician, so I'm sure people who really know this will correct me/explain in detail how dumb I am and how costly this is! In the UK running 230V it's safe to have 3KW on their normal duty plug because it draws about 14 amps I think. In CAN/US At 120V with an outlet adapter first the heater gets 1/4 of the power so it's too weak. You can't run a 240V circuit to it because the UK 230 delivers on one hot wire and has a neutral return, and US/CAN 240 delivers two 120's, no neutral. If you get a power regulator (which I did), you'll find that yes, the heater starts to get 230V, but then it draws 25 amps at full power, and trips the common 15 amp circuits that are the common ones in the home. So to accommodate the heater you need a 30A circuit, 10/2 cable, a 30 amp outlet (very uncommon, you won't find a regular 3 blade grounded outlet at 30 amp, you need a specialty RV type plug, L530). So you run a 30A circuit to a L530 outdoor weatherproof outlet. There is some expense to this!. Then you need a 10 gauge extension cable (like for a generator) to get to your power converter, and the converter is not outdoor rated so you can leave it outside unattended. Now you can run your heater. The heater I have has a schuko plug so you need to get a converter that accommodates that, because all the plug adapters (if you were thinking of a schuko to something else) seem to be only rated to 15A. So $$ spent on finding the heater, a new circuit, a power converter, a heavy duty extension. I really should have bought a 5KW US heater and I would have ended up with a reliable, permanent and safe solution of better quality. I ended up chasing this thing gradually after having found the heater on Kijiji and the guy told me it worked with his outlet adapter (which it did, but at 1/4 power), and have made so many mistakes and spent too much $. So I really don't recommend anyone else to try and pull this off!

      I saw this site online that had suitable leads built for hot tubs etc. toughleads.co.uk/
      be very careful, an ordinary indoor extention lead could cause you problems and could also be quite dangerous
