I found it helpful to just mix 5 and 6. Be careful when doing this because my friend got a hammer (he thought you needed to hit it hard) and broke his Xbox). I couldn't help but laugh Though. What did he think would happen when you hit an Xbox with a hammer? Lol
For unrecognised disc error....just insert the game and get ur remote and hit it slightly on xbox until the game don't start but if it doesn't work then take a postcard and put it in the xbox's disc tray and put it as deep as you can and smack it up and down.....hopefully it will work...It worked for me.

Here is a couple more tips that work: 1: Open the disc tray and let it open most of the way, but don't let it open all the way. Push it back in until it stops trying to open. It pauses for a second, then closes itself. No idea why it works but it usually does the trick. 2: Hitting the top of the xbox (above the disk). Your console will be fine, the reason why this works is that there is a magnet in the disk drive (underneath the sticker with all the specs on the disk drive) that connects to a magnet beteath the disc. It doesn't work properly over time, and hitting it will knock it into place to allow the disc to rotate properly. Do this immediately after inserting the disc, just don't hit it so hard that it scratches your disc. 3: Unplug and open the Xbox, then carefully clean the laser with isopropyl alcohol on a q-tip. There are tutorials for taking it apart here on youtube. 4: Clean any dirt/dust in the disk drive, including the magnet on the cover of the disk drive. The metal and plastic pieces that hold the magnet twist off. Hold the metal piece with a tiny screwdriver inserted into one of the holes and carefully twist the plastic side counterclockwise with a pair of small pliers inserted into the grooves of the plastic. Do not try to grab the outside of the plastic or metal piece with pliers, and be careful not to bend them. 5: Replace the laser in the disk drive 6: Replace disc drive (Look into it because there's something about encryption keys that need to be flashed if you use a generic drive. Make sure to also get the same model number of the disc drive that is inside your xbox. There is a sticker with info on the disc drive

tip 6 took me about 10-15 try’s and knocking on it a bit harder and it finally worked kept changing to different game discs in between as well!!
