God, this brings back memories, the golden age of Max Power, Revs and Fast Car magazine, when getting 18's to fit was considered an incredible achievement and when people had sound systems worth more than their car!
2 years a ago there was a dream that max power would come back straight away people said no way no one is interested it's gone its to expensive, but after the first max power reunion it started to grow even the younger generation have changed there minds,fast forward to this show and it shows that it has come back people are buying those old cars and making those mad designs again,just shows we were right,bring on more builds and more fun
Its like fashion it comes and goes but the best builds stick around

Brilliant! I was never really a Maxer , Iv been involved with the British Rally Championships since the mid 1980s . But I often bought the magazine through the 1990s and always enjoyed the cars , the girls and the madness ! Great to see ya’s back 😎❤️😎

I think it’s brilliant that some people have held onto their modified cars from this era. Although by today’s standards, most people would laugh and say this show is a rice fest but I personally think most of these builds are so cool. The body kits were so daring and so much time and money was spent building them. Most cars had full custom interiors costing more than the car and had PlayStations hooked up to them. How times have changed 🥺
Plenty of people starting to build cars like these again mate - realised financed Mercs aren't that much fun when everyone else has one that looks the same ;)
got my first car at 18 and still got it at 37. managed to get it into the show 🙌

This was the car scene. So fortunate to have experienced it in my teens. Yes they are OTT but it was just a different vibe ❤️
I worked in a body shop from 95-2007. As well as insurance work we fitted a lot of ( very ill fitting ) body kits to various cars. Although I’ve always been in to sleepers, I can really appreciate the blood sweat and tears (& cash) that have gone into theses motors.

Wow that brings me back so recognized so many of them from the magazines, loved seeing that many R5's.
My friends older sister used to go to the local car cruises in her maxed saxo or sometimes borrowed a Escort Cosworth off her bf and took me out to these events when i was too young to drive and always remember it being a right laugh and for a young teen the best thing ever on a friday night especially with all the sexy girls haha.
Was a great time to be young, life seemed so much happier in the 90s and 2000s.

Nice to see down to earth people, not these wannabe TH-cam famous Wollies trying to fight each other or racing each others strapped up motors.
Early 2000's man it was a new drivers dream back then. It was the little mods that you done to your car that would really transform how it looked. You'd save so hard for a set of 17's and a lowering kit and drive around feeling like you'd made your car a million times better. Cars back then were so much smaller too look at a saxo or 106 against the latest small hatches
To be fair, manufacturers have made it harder as they make pretty decent cars out of the box nowadays!
Remember the orange Corrado well, dream car of my youth. The spec in it was ridiculous

Brilliant! Who remembers MAX POWER LIVE? I remember going there in early 2000’s and have some footage captured of the event .

The R5 GTT just looks as fresh now as it did back in the 90s. So good to see all them motors was a max power fam back in the day. Fiat uno turbo was mine, don't see them now!great to see the Astras escorts novas golfs R5 and 205s. Running a mk2 8v GTi myself never let go!
Think most Uno Turbos rusted away unfortunately.

I wish Monky could've taken Project 2000 to the show. Would've completed the lineup nicely! Also, for all the rivalry you guys had with Fast Car and Redline back in the day, the fact that everyone still calls it the Max Power era shows who won that rivalry 😉
Yeah, would have been cool to get that along. Maybe whoever wins it will take it next year. And agree on the Max Power thing...guess that was partly due to the huge success it had in the heyday versus the others. It was good having three or four mags covering the scene in their own ways

Good day but I think last year's event at Towcester Racecourse had much better vibes. The cars were bloody amazing mind you but I think the overall atmosphere needed a more old skool feel to it, certainly in terms of music being played for example.
Have to say, we also preferred the previous venue and layout, but this was still great
The max power scene was successful when there wasn’t really social media, Tik TokX TH-cam, We wonder how much difference that could make now if it did properly come back???

93-97 were the golden years, monster engine builds - then insurance got crazy coming up to the millennium and that’s when the body kitting standard motors got silly. Then the scene died.
@@exgtt2061 it's true they were golden years and insurance was a killer. We still featured plenty of monster engine builds after that though, just probably more styled cars too because of that insurance issue (plus the interest in modified cars grew massively.... so perhaps the types of cars from those golden years didn't disappear, they just got a bit lost in the huge influx of young guys getting into the scene)

ive legit been following max power memories pages n watching videos this past few years i love it im buying a 1998 toyota levin BZ-R blacktop as my first car coming from my first love of motorcycling, ive always felt like ive missed out on the cool era of cars as i wasnt born and too young to remeber the end im glad there making a comeback hopefully stronger than ever! ive full intent on doing my levin up and taking it to maxx shows, i try looking on internet for old skool radios etc but not easy not really that massive amount of info on how to get this kind of stuff, if anyone would help point me in the direction id be much appreciated, old pioneer stuff etc, cars these days r so boring every other lad is in a vw sumthing full tints lowered shitty asf rims rtard sticker cross the front window meaning absolutly nothing with reek pouring out of it rust trailing after it lmfao i absolutely hate it, but its all u c in northern ireland lmfao, ps what ever happened to the car seen in ireland like where did underglow lights go just not a thing no more
