There is a weep hole on the bottom of the water pump. Water was probably coming from that. You can get a rebuild kit to replace the seals. Then use the old pump as a spare. And don't you love boat yoga? You're doing great sir, always a pleasure watching your videos.
Hello thanks for the videos I have a yanmar ysm8 and I'm having issues with finding parts did you order offline or did you go through a dealer any info would greatly be appreciated
I ordered parts through a regional authorized Yammer repair shop. I don't know about the ysm8, but parts are readily available for my engine. The dealer was readily able to ship the parts I needed anywhere I needed them.
Its a good idea to double your clamps on thru hull fittings.
Thank you for documenting the restoration of your boat.
I'm happy to do so. Thanks for watching

Thanks Rich! You're spot on. I haven't found a rebuild kit. The Yanmar parts breakdown doesn't seem to specify any internal parts. I'll research more.
Good to see you again Owen, the motor looks and sounds really good, Thanks
Thanks a lot, Ed!
