The greatest enemies of the Prophet Muhammad have fiercely insulted: magician, liar, wizard, crook ... but they never tried to blame him for marrying a 9-year-old girl because the marriage at that time with girls of age was normal as it was in the days of Abraham, Moses and Jesus (Joseph, who was 93, had married Mary, the mother of Jesus, who was only 12 years old according to the older manuscripts).

Joseph Yossef asalam alaikum brother. Aisha(رضي الله عنها) was not 9 years old. Actually before going onto that point we as Muslims agree that the Qurans teaching should come first then the hadiths. So if there are hadiths that are in conflict with the Quran then we simply reject it. So when allah in the Quran says not to marry kids who have not entered puberty then we don’t. Also there are also other hadiths that day Aisha was much older than 9 for example some said she was 18.

    • @kaeyreYao

@@myko702 Yes brother but even.if she was 9yrs old it wouldn't be a problem, because if women at that age already reached the age of puberty 200yrs ago, then the same is more applicable to people from the 7th century.
Age of 9 doesn't necessitate prepuberty.
Coz we have clear preconditions such as biological, intellectual, spiritual readiness.
If one of those is missing, marriage is null and void.

Though the marriage and consumation are 2 different things and the latter is acceptable with maturity of the body in cultural terms and until now in the third world. However the age that the prophet married Aisha was not 9 but it was between 17-21 years. There is only one man's chain of narration and the sahabi that narrated has been an aged man in his eighties/nineties and his memory was not good. Which is a condition of suspicion not his character i.e the sahabi but his memory because of age and the sahaba and tabi'een rejected this notion until in later times when they accepted according to the mainstream norms, which in many places depend upon many social and legitimate bases. Like the number of single women decrease compared to men. The luck of resources and taking care of women of need through marriage. Making peace and lineage with a opposing clan to increase social bond and security. Orphan women who need a mature man to protect them. N.B these societies weren't always urban lifes. 95% of the folks were nomads, peasants and rural people and life was tough before 18th century and we may fall back to that life again. No one has garantees but imagine how that life in the past was compared to our urban, cosmopolitan lifes or modern with internet etc. So, presentism is a bit unintellectual but accepting that Muhammed married Aisha at 9 isn't strong or likely because the prophet married 8 other women at least and none was young, but they were all divorced and widows. So, it is only a matter of memory and figurative language that made this mess. As a muslim, i don't think that neither the hadith nor the character of the prophet nor the other hadiths that show Aisha as a teenage girl prior to Hijra to Medina and being older than Annas bin Malik is supporting this 9 year old claim. On the contrary they all contradict it and as she said in hadiths attributed to her, she saw annas as a young kid at Hijra and som she was either in her late teenage years or a young adult.

I don't usually comment but I feel this is important to take away misguidance. We should be proud of our history rather than distort it for the approval of orientalists. There is undisputable consensus on the matter amongst the scholars. It is well-known that scholarly consensus is protected from error, because the ummah cannot agree on misguidance. At-Tirmidhi (2167) narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: “Allah will not cause my ummah to agree on misguidance.” Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami‘ (1848)
It is sufficient evil for a person to fabricate a view that was not uttered by any of the scholars throughout the centuries. This indicates that this view is wrong. Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymyah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Every view that is held by only one of the later scholars, and not by any of the earlier scholars, for which there is no precedent among any of the earlier scholars, is wrong, as Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal said: Beware of developing a view that you have never heard from any scholar.
Please read the attached link. The evidence is overwhelming from the earlier scholars. And the rejection of an older age being attributed is clear and concise. May Allah ﷻ guide us all.

In Islam, Marriage does not mean ‘sex’ (or sleeping) at the first place.
The prophet’s wife had been staying at her father’s house until she became matured to lead a conjugal life, then she went to her husband. That marriage was initiated by the bride’s father.
Marriage is a bonding of trust, responsibility, dignity and love between two matured persons of opposite gender upon their conscious consent through a written agreement.
Only after that, physical conducting depends on their puberty, physical fitness, mental maturity & further consent.
After getting married, It may take time from 1 day to even years.

Most early church fathers believed Mary was married off when she was 12 years old and Joseph the carpenter was a very old man. Here is the list of fathers who believed that Joseph was fourscore years old when he married 12-year-old Mary: 1. Epiphanius (310 - 403AD) 2. Hilary (Hilarius) of Poitiers (300 - 368AD) 3. John Chrysostom (Born between 344 and 349 - Died 407 AD) 4. Cyril of Alexandria (376 - 444 AD) 5. Saint Euthymius the Great (377 - 473 AD) 6. Theophylact of Ohrid (also known as Theophylact of Bulgaria) (1055 - 1107 AD) 7. Cecumenius 8. Eusebius (263 - 339 AD)

All the narrators of this hadith are Iraqis who had heard it from Hisham. Allama Kandhulvi says that the words spoken in connection with Hazrat Aisha’s age were tissa ashara, meaning 19, when Hisham only heard (or remembered), tissa, meaning nine. Maulana Usmani thinks this change was purposely and maliciously made later.
Historian Ibn Ishaq in his Sirat Rasul Allah has given a list of the people who accepted Islam in the first year of the proclamation of Islam, in which Hazrat Aisha’s name is mentioned as Abu Bakr’s “little daughter Aisha”. If we accept Hisham’s calculations, she was not even born at that time.
Some time after the death of the Prophet’s first wife, Hazrat Khadija, Khawla suggested to the Prophet that he get married again, to a bikrun, referring to Hazrat Aisha (Musnad Ahmed). In Arabic bikrun is used for an unmarried girl who has crossed the age of puberty and is of marriageable age. The word cannot be used for a six-year-old girl.

It’s simple and easy . Her father (Abu Baker) gave approval and witnessed the marriage after her own approval. What else more than that could give legitimacy to that marriage !!!!
Not to forget how much Ayesha loved the prophet Muhammad ... it was a real love story. Is that not enough for you to realize how willingly she was to marry the prophet .

    • @thatman4924
      @thatman4924 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

said khleif I do not believe Prophet(SAW) married Aisha(RA) at 9, that's inaccurate according to opinion of many scholars based on other traditions.
I have considerable evidence to dissaprove that.
*Scholars unanimously agree that Hadith/Literature is not accurate source to define details like, Age, Physical features like facial details, time or weather etc.*
      Now coming to Literature..
The age of Aisha(RA) according to other tradition i.e. hadiths and scholars.
The compiler of the famous Hadith collection Mishkat al-Masabih, Imam Wali-ud-Din Muhammad ibn Abdullah Al-Khatib, who died 700 years ago, has also written brief biographical notes on the narrators of Hadith reports. He writes under Asma(RA), the older daughter of Abu Bakr(RA):
*“She was the sister of Aisha(RA) Siddiqa, wife of the Holy Prophet, and was ten years older than her. … In 73 A.H. … Asma(RA) died at the age of one hundred years.''*
This would make Asma(RA) 28 years of age in 1 A.H., the year of the Hijra, thus making Aisha(RA) 18 years old in 1 A.H.
*Most historians agree that Aishah(RA) passed away when she was 67 years old. Moreover, Hisham ibn Urwah (763 CE), the grandson of Aishah’s(RA) sister Asma(RA), gave the date of her death as 50 AH/672 CE.*
*Khalifa ibn al-Khayyat al-Usfuri (854 CE), an authority on lineage and biography, and Imam Ahmed ibn Hanbal (855 CE) also tell us that Aisha(RA) breathed her last breath in 50 AH/672 CE.*
So we have 2 sources from 2 different angles confirming she i.e. Aisha(RA) was 17-18 during 1 AH.
The importance of this date cannot be underestimated. If she was 67 years old in 50 AH/672 CE, then at the time of the Hijrah in 622 she must have been 17 years old (and born in 605 CE); this again backs up the conclusion that she was 19 at the time of her marriage in 2 AH/624 CE, and not 9.
      Also,
_(610 CE), Abu Bakr(ra) had initially engaged his daughter Aisha(ra) to Jubayr ibn Mut'im, but when Jubayr's father Mut`im ibn `Uday was informed that Abu Bakr had adopted Islam and rejected polytheism, Mut`im no longer wished his son to marry Aisha._
Now if Aisha(ra) was getting married to someone else in 610? how could she be born in 613?_
*That was evidence from Hadith literature with 3 different angles confirming she(ra) was at least 18.*
*Now let us come to evidence from The Holy Qur'an itself*
Qur’an 78:31-33-Indeed, for the righteous is attainment - Gardens and grapevines- And full-breasted [companions] of *equal age.*
      (Qur'an 4:6)
And test the orphans [in your charge] until they reach a marriageable age; then, if you find them to be *mature of mind* , hand over to them their possessions; and do not consume them by wasteful spending, and in haste, ere they grow up. And let him who is rich abstain entirely [from his ward's property]; and let him who is poor partake thereof in a fair manner. And when you hand over to them their possessions, let there be witnesses on their behalf - although none can take count as God does.
*The point is, when Allah(SWT) is setting the standard of ''equal Age'' and ''Full breasted'' i.e. mature as standard of heavens, and at least ''Mature of mind'' on earth that is most pious and most adequate, can the Prophet(Pbuh) of God go otherwise and not fulfill single of them?*
Quran 4:19 “O ye who believe! Ye are forbidden to inherit women against their will. Nor should ye treat them with harshness, that ye may Take away part of the dower ye have given them, except where they have been guilty of open lewdness; on the contrary live with them on a footing of kindness and equity. If ye take a dislike to them it may be that ye dislike a thing, and Allah brings about through it a great deal of good.”
Consent is an Islamic requirement and a female not of legal age can't give that, since marriage is a legal contract in Islam not some event, she has to be mature enough to be able to insert her choice of conditions in the contract.
Just like any other legal contract between two parties.
The Qur'anic standard over-rules everything else.

@Meshari The reason people came up with this is to reject some of the authentic ahadeeth. And if you reject one or two ahadeeth from let's say Bukhari, what more can you reject?
Slowly but surely, they become Quranists. And after becoming Quranist, they become atheist.
And gullible people like that individual share that misinformation.

    • @thatman4924
      @thatman4924 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Meshari I'm not ashamed of anything that seems to be an apparent lie against the Prophet(SAW) by his enemies.
There are too many hadiths and they all give a different age.
I reject the hadith on basis that it is wrong tool to measure age and minute details like facial features.
Some hadith would say the Prophet(SAW) had big eyes, some would say ''they appeared big cause he used an eyeliner''
      Which one would you take?
This is not the right tool to measure that.
Allah has given us the best book, Al-Qur'an to deremine that.
When Allah(swt) himself is not giving a particular age number.
Who the hell are scholar to give any?
Any hadith that does not go by the Qur'an is to be thrown at the wall.

    • @thatman4924
      @thatman4924 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      2manyusernamestaken I think that's incorrect.
There were many hadiths and sira recorded in the 7th century but it was around 8th century Scholars came up with a scientific mechanism for validation of hadith.
It in no way says that these hadith can be 100% all perfectly validated. Only Allah(SWT) is perfect, while we are prone to mistakes.
I can say the same about hardcore sunnis. They follow hadith as if it's word of God, which it is not.
Then they make things haraam that Allah never made haraam, and make things halaal that Allah never made halaal.
Then they become Shias , Ahmadis and Sufis and whatever you said.
None of them strives to become a Muslim.
      They lose the balanced way.

According to the Pro-Gospel of James and the History of Joseph the Carpenter, Mary was betrothed to Joseph at the age of 12 and gave birth to Jesus at 14 years old. On the other hand, Joseph died at the age of 111 while Jesus was still alive. In short, as Jesus died at age 33, this means that Joseph was over 90 when he became engaged to a 12-year-old girl.
As we know, Jesus is not the founder of the Catholic religion. This religion was built "on its back" if one can say, but the founders of this religion took care to select the writings that went in their direction and in their interests.

You will not find it in the Quran, so why do we all believe that, because it is in the historical records of Islam and if you just look up the age that most scholars agree on, Marry was roughly 12 years old.
I don't see your problem with that.

. Merril D. Smith says that the age which a girl could marry was 10 to 13 in most societies,
“To that end, from ancient times to the present, many societies have acted to try to safeguard children from rape and other forms of sexual degradation, though they might define sexual degradation differently from era to era and from place to place. One way societies have tried to protect young girls is through laws that designate a statutory age of consent. Such laws prohibit men from having sexual relations with females under a specified age on legal theory that they are too young and immature to make informed decision and, therefore, are incapable of giving a legal consent. Historically, the age of consent was set at 10 or 13 years, depending on the era and the culture, and tended to coincide with female puberty, which was also the age at which a female could marry without parental permission.”
    . Melissa Hope Ditmore
“United States, the age of consent was much lower. For example, in New York, the age of consent was ten years until 1885. After 1885, age of consent laws changed around the country, reaching 16 in New York in 1889 and 18 in 1895. Prior to these changes the age of consent in most places in the United States was 10 or 12 years.”
    . Caryn Neumann
“Historically the age of consent was set somewhere between 10 and 13 years, depending on the Era and the culture, and tending to coincide with female puberty. In modern United States, the age of consent ranges from 14 - 18 years with 16 years as the standard.”
    . Martha Rosenthal:
“During colonial times in the United States, the age of consent was 10 (except in Delaware, where the age of consent was 7).”
    . Paula S. Fass
“Age of consent laws rose from as low as ten to between thirteen (France 1863) AND SIXTEEN (England and Wales 1885).”
. Edward J. Wood says that Thomas Lord Berkley was contracted to a girl who was at the time 7 years old and were to consummate the marriage 4 years later, but due to illness the marriage was consummated the following year,
“Thomas, Lord Berkeley, was contracted to Margaret, daughter of Gerald Warren, Lord Lisle, in the forty-first year of Edward III.; and by reason of her tender age- she was then only about seven years old- it was arranged that she should remain with her father for four years; but sickness happening in the family, they were married in the November following.”

Muhammad was indeed a perfect example of a man on this Earth.
In Islam we are obligated to follow those laws of the country we live in IF it doesn't contradict the teachings of Islam. So if a Muslim lives in England, he can only marry a woman when they have reached the age of 16.
Muhammad showed us that we can marry an elderly woman which he did, but he also showed us we can marry a younger woman if she's reached the age of puberty and everything that is obligated for marriage to take place.
He showed us that depending on where we live we should marry a woman at the legal age. That's why he married both an elderly and a younger woman.
Back then it was normal to marry a younger woman when they reached the age of puberty. It was also normal for a woman to prepare to get married at that age. So because every woman would prepare to get married when they hit puberty, most of them would be ready at that age. That's why it was perfectly okay for Muhammad SAW to marry the 9 yo woman.

In the Bible, God said clearly, expressly and simply: "I am God Almighty" (Genesis 17: 1).
Why Jesus did not do like his father and says clearly, expressly and simply: "I am the God." It's very easy to say it. But Jesus said clearly, expressly and simply in the bible : "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." (Luke 19:10), "But now you are trying to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God " (John 8:40).

This christian lady's point was that "if the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was a perfect example for the rest of humanity for all time to come, then why did he do something that is not conform to today's time?" ..
There is something that these people don't understand. The prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was a human being. He got married, that was his intimate life. How can he make his intimate life conform with all time? Cultures and traditions keep changing from time to time. So how can they expect him, as a human being to satisfy the intimate standards of all future generations to come? He applied the principle that can be applied for the rest of the generations to come, i.e the age of puberty, and other rulings of Islam. These principles fit in everywhere in the world and will always fit in. We should take the principles and add it to our present age requirement for marriage. This is why we say he was the perfect example of humanity. He showed us the perfect principle that can be applied everywhere and anytime.
Whatever age he married his wife was never a problem during his time. During that time it was normal. He had many enemies during those time. They used to call him with different names. Even those enemies did not use this age issue against him. Why they didn't do that? Because it was normal practice.
Christian missionaries have always been looking for something against Islam. But before the year 1900, no one use this point against Islam. Why? It was there in sahih bukhari for more than 1000 years. No one saw that? No christian missionary saw that for more than 1000 years? No, they saw it. But the thing is that before the 1900s, it was still normal practice. It's just that today they are acting as if they have discovered the moon. They are taking out the historical knowledge to move in their agenda. And they say that they have the holi spirit. What holi spirit? Holi spirit guiding you to lie? This looks like satan's work. Maybe their qareen is too powerful in them!

Anytime they talk about marriage age it’s in their bible they are pretending that it’s not in here but they can assume that a man is God even if the man never claim to be God..
    1 Corinthians 7:35-36
35 And this I speak for your own profit; not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction.
36 But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry.
According to the above verses if she pass the flower of her age which is her first period which can start from 7 years upwards depending on the environment and her nature ,she can marry.......

"In 1880, the majority of the
United States agreed that a person who was ten years old was old enough to consent to sexual relations ... It is interesting to point out that Delaware had set the age at seven" (Jeremiah J Bowden, 2010)
Only thing I can think of that's changed since then is the amount of sexual immorality. As in there is much more sexual immorality now and the people know it so they raised the age restrictions. 140 years ago we didn't have music clips of half naked people that you could watch from your phone let alone some of the "other" things you can do with your phone these days or on TV or on posters billboards. Society has changed and perhaps so has people's ability to reach sexual maturity.

"And test the orphans [in your charge] until they reach a marriageable age (puberty) : Then if you find them to be of mature in mind/sound judgement, hand over to them their possessions.. " (Quran 4:6). Please pay attention here. Marriageable age along with Puberty also alludes to sound judgement, an age in which along with puberty a person can responsibly handle their possessions. So the argument against Islam falls flat on its face here. If western countries choose to dumb down their children in family rearing affairs and only focus on making them economically sound, that's not Islam's fault that marriage and family is given as much importance, if not more

asalam alaikum brothers and sisters.

    • @myko702

Meshari ya Habibi. This is not my position this is a position of ulama. As for rejecting sahih Hadith that are in conflict with Quran, yes we do, since Quran is the literal word of Allah and is therefore the supreme criteria.

If the woman was 90 and the man was 21 and the man would cause harm to the 90yr old woman then its not allowed.
Young marriages wasnt isolated to the Arabs it was a worldly practice of the human race across all cultures. In the US today, some southern states say 12 is ok with parental permission. In Africa its beginning practiced in Non Islamic lands. Age of consent just became relevant in the last 100yrs in the west. We are talking about Anicent Arabs in the 6th century here. People need to understand that human existence, how we mature has shifted and changed a lot of the thousands and thousands of years.

The virgin Marry gave birth to Jesus(PBUH) when she was roughly 12 years old and she married Joseph who was 90. In the Quran, Marry is seen as an example to all of humanity to follow, now do we now say that Marry was also a bad example because she lived by the customs of her time. Obviously not, they did things back then which were normal at the time and were within the boundries set by Islam. To say that they were bad examples for the ages they used to get married would mean that we need to criticise everything they did. Becasue they lived according to the customs of that time period, they got married young, they rode camels, they ate certain things, they dressed a certain way, they lived in a certain culture. So this in no way denounces either Marry, or prophet Muhammad as examples for us to follow today.
