4:44 I guess Doc will have his men hold a whole flank. Map looks shaped like a nut crunch. I'd guess he's mostly concentrated on the NW foothill with some overwatch higher up the NW. it'd be easy enough to drive you back down into the minefield, and to me, looks like only one easy way to slip through. He wants you up the hill on the NW, so I'd give it to him. Start some fires to massage my approach. The fires would obviously be where I would be. There's not a man on earth that can resist fire on a cold winter day. Then I can sit and observe what his probing forces look like. It'd be my tactical style of lazy. They already attacked, no advantage in concealing position. The mission is to determine OPFOR strength and size. Make em' walk, and then I'd go directly through where I was to get to where I know they now are. What Doc doesn't do is as revealing as what he does. Surprise me and resist a fire on a cold day. Revenge is a dish best served cold. I could easily craft some delayed firestarters. I can't imagine Doc hiding the bulk of his forces behind a minefield. So what if he is? Prepare an ambush and bag a prisoner if possible. If not, risk nothing, dead em' and grab whatever is on the bodies. As far as revenge. Do we have anything in the way of mortars? If they're bigger than we are we've got to bomb em' and withdraw until they spread out beyond easily defensible. Let's see if I f*ked up the guess and missed the guy standing right in my face with a rifle like Brent can.
Grunt Proof... It's already forming into an INTERNATIONAL Man Up University!!! ... I heard there's some dumb "ex" Jarhead training volunteers in Ukraine who relies heavily on channels such as this one, Corporals Corner and others (and yours too) to help transition as much knowledge and wisdom as possible to real people who are pressed into struggle against evil and suffering. Over here the name of the game is literally Evolve or die
I need these courses in my life! I dig the one shepard vibe and style and what they teach! Outstanding stuff! And this is the 1st time i seen anyone offer anything like this during the winter!
@Brent0331 This one was action packed!!! Favorite vid from the One Shepherd coverage by far!Love the map visuals. really helped put the picture together as to what was happening and your obj's and reactions to changing situations.
I love it, of course, its not for the mentally weak. There is an embrace the suck factor! If you don't have a positive mental attitude and a Ghung Ho spirit, stay the away, this event isn't for you.
God I love snow!!! Where I live it hardly ever happens!! GD bugs all year!!! When I hear people complain about it, I think you so got no idea how great it is!!!! Heat is overrated!!!!
As a northerner, I would have to caution you on the dangers of the cold and snow. It will kill you ruthlessly if you aren't prepared and sometimes even if you are prepared.
Sometimes things are just meant to be lol, i can only imagine the ribbing and conversations after that last battle 🤣. When you were in the road squatting down and looking right before first contact I fully expected you to say.....get down....shut up! 🤣🤣 outstanding job 👍 and looked like a blast! I always appreciate these videos!
I didn’t think a month out of the infantry I’d be watching a whole ass fucking ftx video… but here I am 😂 Amazing video, damn, nothing like embracing the suck and doing training like this. I think you know why I’m watching this vid haha sadly I can see this going on in Poland very soon. Already know sf is out there (SBU) Anyway, thanks for the content! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
If you want some good ass winter camo, I suggets the finnish winter m05 camo. I maybe bit biased since im finnish myself but that things is really effective
Have those same "multicam" overwhites, use the top while tracking deer after we get snow during the season.... like wearing a trash bag, don't breathe at all. Good to see them from a third person perspective though, they blend in really well.
@S&S Training Solutions unfortunately no. That would be fun to attend. In the meantime my two brothers and are planning to support the mission by going to one shepard hopefully this time next year. Keep up the great work.
30:50 Right as your point man walked out of the trees onto the road to our 6 o'clock, he just about walked right into me as I was walking the perimeter. Thankfully I got my gun up first and took him out before retreating back to the bivouac and raising the alarm 31:15 That "large enemy QRF" was 2 guys flanking the enemy assault, one of whom was me. We got 2 of the attackers, and a hasty ambush from the rest of our team finished them off further up the road as they were retreating. We also took no casualties during that assault to the best of my memory All in all, a fantastic training event that I'm honored to have had the opportunity to attend. Absolute blast all around, can't wait to do it again. FOLLOW ME!
I talked to Mike about this and the casualties on your guys side were self admitted casualties. I.e. they knew they were close enough to each other and they would have been killed if not for the short falls of miles. Might have been the Damico brothers idk.
@@chrisreed676 We sprang the Ambush on our pursuers. Also while I agree your QRF wasn't massed, there were a few different teams that were engaging us. I know of at least 3 at this point.
@@Brent0331 @Reed I also know of at least 1 confirmed Miles kill we made on 1S patrol while trying to recover one of our fallen. Lost another in the process unfortunately. All said and done, we lost 5, killed at least 4 ( some "gentleman's game" ) Yeah not great, but not lopsided.
Awesome video!! Are going to do a post winter forge video on the gear? How the new stuff worked, what gear didn’t work as well as expected and how layering went? Did you have to layer up/down frequently?
Coming from a well rounded backpacking, through hiking and climbing skill set, which the latter included all facets from mountain, alpine, rock, ice and my personal favorite, big wall climbing, it's ridiculous how non abundant 100% synthetic camo is. You'll see camo pants that have a fleece lining, but a cotton exterior. 😆 Cotton is death.
I wouldn't say that, just have some training and experience both in the Marine Corps as a grunt and attending several One Shepherded and S&S Winter Forge training event.
Hey Brent love your content! I have a few questions about how you operate. First how do you distinguish friend from for in these winter conditions? Second do you generally only shoot when you have the enemy in your sights, or is there alot of spray and pray just to cover your ass! I have a ton more questions but I'll only ask one more, are you limited on ammo quantity or are you able to bring as much as you can carry to the FOB. I'd love you take part in some of these events but I'm still recovering from a broken back. Keep up the great work, and I'm looking forward to future videos!
Multicam/woodland/ dyed brown UCP vs OD at Winter Forge. Snow camo is optional. ALL ammo is issued, you get about 7 magazines (standard combat load), that's it, make 'em last. You should know what you're shooting at before pulling the trigger. Train like you fight...
There is one medic per squad, if the medic makes it to the dead, he can reset their miles gear and they're back in the fight. Each man has a total of 3 revivals by a medic. A 9 line has to be called in at the bivouac site to reset any mans lives.
We custom make them here at Lightfighter Studies Group for each A.O that we train in or support. One of the Benefits to training with our organization or one that we support is that you get higher quality maps. All our maps are proper MGRS and are higher fidelity than standard USGS maps.
ok super grezt exercise. but do anyone tryed to simulate an ennemy woth thermal sight or just simple drones? i think it is time to integrate the ukraine experience in the trainings
29:33 What happens if I think that's a shit plan, Sir? You know what. Fuck-it. Depends on your way of looking at it. Is the duty to survive or kill the enemy? I'm no longer a young man, and I pray I'll never have to become a soldier. If required, I can only die happy at 5:1. I had an anxiety attack once, and all I wanted to do was tell some people goodbye. Yeah, I thought I was dying, and all I could think about was let them know I said "goodbye". As I've gotten older, I realized I won't be missed. Still, mail the letter.

Sounds better than the pos college I went to!
I think every civilian able bodied male should be armed and attend summer and winter training every year.
Wonderful representation of the FTX to Winter Forge! Take me back!
Brent, as always the hard charger. As soon as the leash is off he is sending out patrols to snap at the heels of the enemy. Love it.
I need this in my life.
This needs to be offered in every single state in this union.
Some heavy metal, some heavy snow and heavy motivation!
Hell yeah!
Excellent footage on this one, Brent. Great stuff!
I need these courses in my life! I dig the one shepard vibe and style and what they teach! Outstanding stuff! And this is the 1st time i seen anyone offer anything like this during the winter!
Outstanding!!! Slayin' bodies done right heheh, awesome that y'all got some proper snow this time around. Can't wait to go back for next year!

@Brent0331 This one was action packed!!! Favorite vid from the One Shepherd coverage by far!Love the map visuals. really helped put the picture together as to what was happening and your obj's and reactions to changing situations.
Outstanding content again!!! I’ve got to get my ass down there for it!
Good video as always marine
Great job on the videos, Brent!
Thanks
Rock and Roll
Love ya Sempi Fi
Excellent! Hope to see some of the guys at A coy this fall!
That looks just AWESOME! Really would love to have that experience. Huge fun and great training.
I love it, of course, its not for the mentally weak. There is an embrace the suck factor! If you don't have a positive mental attitude and a Ghung Ho spirit, stay the away, this event isn't for you.
@@Brent0331 Loin heart here, my friend! Great challenges build character. It's mainly about getting away from work for me.
Just finished watching, wow does that look like fun.
Depending on your definition of fun! Ha...but yes its challenging, rewarding and fun.
How fun!! Awesome
Outstanding AF!
Thanks brother
Looks like a ton of fun! Thanks for sharing Brent!
Thanks for watching brother.
Very detailed explanation and action packed too
Thanks
Fantastic video brother.
Awesome team work 👍
This is excellent content, thanks for all you do!
round about 28.30, I see you turning pages with your gloves on 👍. Your winter warfare skills are truly impressive.
Awesome training Brent. Looks like it was full of good information and experiences and a blast as well. Beautiful scenery to boot.
Nate
It was!
Excellent video. Very motivating!
I didn’t think a month out of the infantry I’d be watching a whole ass fucking ftx video… but here I am 😂
Amazing video, damn, nothing like embracing the suck and doing training like this. I think you know why I’m watching this vid haha sadly I can see this going on in Poland very soon. Already know sf is out there (SBU) Anyway, thanks for the content! 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks for watching and commenting brother.
awesome brent
This is great timing Mike over at Garand Thumb just did a winter warfare video as well.
Can we get a winter camouflage effectiveness videos too? Curious to where some of these camos I seen come from and how to obtain them.
I have several up already, most can be found on Ebay.
If you want some good ass winter camo, I suggets the finnish winter m05 camo. I maybe bit biased since im finnish myself but that things is really effective
Damn that was great 👊
I grew up doing it
Have those same "multicam" overwhites, use the top while tracking deer after we get snow during the season.... like wearing a trash bag, don't breathe at all. Good to see them from a third person perspective though, they blend in really well.
I can't wait to go to the next one.
Hell yeah.
My favorite bit is still the first second.
Need to bring a desert mountain training center to nevada
It would be nice to see this done in areas like Wisconsin,Minnesota, or the Dakotas.
That's the long term plan. Also the inclusion of snow shoeing & skis. Know anyone with a few hundred acres we can use?
@S&S Training Solutions unfortunately no. That would be fun to attend. In the meantime my two brothers and are planning to support the mission by going to one shepard hopefully this time next year. Keep up the great work.
@@sstrainingsolutions3832 I'm still trying to fanagle some connections up in the AO to get access to that kind of space, it ain't easy heheh!!!
@S&S Training Solutions there are a lot of fallow fields this time of year is renting space an option? Maybe reservation lands?
Just spitballing I feel like I came off as an ass in my first comment which wasn't my intentions.
30:50
Right as your point man walked out of the trees onto the road to our 6 o'clock, he just about walked right into me as I was walking the perimeter. Thankfully I got my gun up first and took him out before retreating back to the bivouac and raising the alarm
31:15
That "large enemy QRF" was 2 guys flanking the enemy assault, one of whom was me. We got 2 of the attackers, and a hasty ambush from the rest of our team finished them off further up the road as they were retreating. We also took no casualties during that assault to the best of my memory
All in all, a fantastic training event that I'm honored to have had the opportunity to attend.
@@Brent0331 I was not aware of this, but that is definitely something I could see Joe doing
@@chrisreed676 BTW Great sparing with you buddy!
Awesome video!! Are going to do a post winter forge video on the gear? How the new stuff worked, what gear didn’t work as well as expected and how layering went? Did you have to layer up/down frequently?
I did a gear video for last year. I dont plan on one this year because its most the same gear.
A Russ Anderson wheel would work great for moving those crates in the woods, that what I used to move bodies in Wilderness SAR.
Yeah I suppose that would have worked well, however, I don't think we have a grand to spend on that! ha Interesting piece of gear none the less.
Cotton is death.
wow, you're a brilliant tactician
I wouldn't say that, just have some training and experience both in the Marine Corps as a grunt and attending several One Shepherded and S&S Winter Forge training event.
Remember to conceal your ingress and egress routes! Extra important in the mud and snow.
How does a person like me join up for this? How much does it cost? Thank you brent
Website is in the description box and linked comment section.
@Brent0331 what is the horse shoe type canvas with the overhang tarp that you guys were sitting in? some type of concealment or beddown area?
Seems like a blind to keep people from seeing movement inside the bivouac ???
Von Reck Shelter make with old surplus canvas shelter halves. He has a video on that shelter setup.
@@DJTheMetalheadMercenary nice! thanks bud. i'll search for it
@@kuyakonggaming No problem!
22:10 I don’t understand what you were doing when you took contact.
Were you trying to get closer to the enemy camp to observe it?
Probing attack.
Try north Minnesota.
nice !! wahts the name from your snow tarn clothes, wehre i find to buy it ?
suprised how well ocp does for winter camo
Yeah, it does pretty good.
What are those muzzle devices?
All I hear is Josh's Machine Gun going.
What was the temperature here?
When moving could you get away with lvl1 + lvl2 + outer girerei shell?
Was it necessary to put on lvl7 when stationary?
34:36 during this engagement would have going prone been the better choice instead of kneeling?
To expose less of your body
There is one medic per squad, if the medic makes it to the dead, he can reset their miles gear and they're back in the fight. Each man has a total of 3 revivals by a medic. A 9 line has to be called in at the bivouac site to reset any mans lives.
@@Brent0331 ok thanks

AOR2 pcu lvl7
🤤
What happens when someone dies?
Is he removed from the operation?
I wish miles systems were cheap and abundant.
How do you know you have casualties?
The use of MILES.
@@Brent0331 I'm not versed on this stuff. We do self reliance type stuff on our channel. Is MILES a laser system?
Yes
@@Brent0331 cool looks like a fun time

Where do you get your maps?
We custom make them here at Lightfighter Studies Group for each A.O that we train in or support. One of the Benefits to training with our organization or one that we support is that you get higher quality maps.
All our maps are proper MGRS and are higher fidelity than standard USGS maps.
ok super grezt exercise.
but do anyone tryed to simulate an ennemy woth thermal sight or just simple drones?
i think it is time to integrate the ukraine experience in the trainings
Its all used.
@@Brent0331 great 👍
thank you for the answer
@@Brent0331 ca you do a video about what it is important from unraine and the solutions you propose?
if it is nos a sensible argument for you.
So when you guys shoot at each other, theres a flash and casings so clearly this isn't airsoft, what are you guys actually shooting at each other?
MILES gear.
Middle aged guys reliving their glory days.
You are surrounded 0331 .well you now know where the enemy is. 🇺🇸💯👍🦅🌎⚓👹🐕🦺🪖🥾❄🌬⛄
