- Daily driver engine fail, Facebook removing my monetisation, and many more recent disasters means I'm broke, so stuff has to be for sale, inc the 3 turbos in this video.
They're on my eBay, but if want them you can also get hold of me on Instagram or Facebook or whatever too.
Gutted, but that is life sometimes!

As someone who came across and Frankenstein'd an unknown Holset "just pulled off some bread truck diesel somewhere" I really appreciate this series and the wondering which went on because it felt like the Holset labyrinth I stumbled through. Thanks!
Really cool stuff. Unless I'm crazy though, that's definitely an 8 blade wheel.
Yeah that was driving me nuts. Kept doubting myself 🤣 think I counted 5/6 times to be sure 🤣
Apologies, it is, I was being thick. Just a very very weird offset blade design 8 blade where they aren’t opposite each other 😂
@@StavTech Hahaha all good I did the same thing filming my last turbo vid and cut out the 3 takes where I counted wrong. The curved blades def make it look strange.
@@802Garage those curved blades are super interesting, waay more interesting than the weird WH1E we came across and modernized. I'd love to get my hands on/ 3d scan this design to have it machined for testing...
Here's hoping you stumble bass-ackwards into a pot of gold, like, tomorrow. It sucks to see the guy behind the channel that made me appreciate turbocharging have to give away such a cool piece of kit without being able to use it.
Well wishes from the other side of the Atlantic.
Bought your blow off valve, good luck dude.
hope you get back on your feet soon cash wise, your videos are sick.
Me too! Just lots of shit has gone wildly wrong in the space of a month, which has unexpectly cleared me out !
@@StavTech I feel you man. Just dont stress it and stay healthy . Money aint nothing but a thing, you should set a buy me coffee link. ill buy you a coffee madman.

would be an absolute shame to let the suspected hart turbo go. stupid suggest would it be worth givig Geoffrey page a message as he does work on old 80s f1 cars or even the guy over at drive61 on youtube as his father owns a 80s f1 restoration company and work on the old hart engine might be a wealth of knowlege to you questions
Awesome details. Sorry about needing to sell it.
I think stick it on. I was watching an old rallycross video a while back and one of the cars was running an an f1 turbo in the walkaround video of it. Think it was a mk2 astra might be wrong.
Quite a few did back in the late 80s early 90s era. They’re a fairly good match in size for a slightly larger but slightly lower revving engine like the stupid shit we do and stuff like Rallycross cars etc
Astra 4s, ran nothing from 350hp to 750 cool as fuck car
I would love to see you find out what this thing can do
So would I. Perfect for a future all out 1.8T build, but I’m broke as right now so it’s for sale unless something changes
Maybe it does stand for hybrid, 14 being nr 14 or rendition 14 of 1985.
Why stamp that into every part if not for easy of reassembly among other turbos.
Indeed. It’s all stamped for good reason, but exactly what it means, who knows.
Hybrid does make sense even in Hart terms as when you look at the engines, they often ran full HX50s frame turbos when they needed a smaller turbo, or full 4LGK frame turbos when they needed a bigger turbo, but this is indeed a hybrid of both.
The odds of ever knowing for sure are slim, as I bet 99% of the existing Hart F1 cars don’t have genuine spec turbos anymore.
Hey stav could you maybe make a video on how to make a more budget friendly build like your turbos are dirt cheap compared to some of the "branded stuff". could the same apply to lets say intercoolers or piping if done by a local welder or pipe fitter. what other bits could we save money on. i know big companies cant source alot of these bits since there arent many in existence. Could going to a scrapyard work if i pull off stuff from a bigger car to save some money.
That sounds like all by builds tbf. I don’t spend big money on any of that stuff and almost all DIY
I wonder if it was set up for a specific track ?
They defo used different turbos for different tracks so potentially yes
Hi stav, love your videos.
Could the marking HY 14 85 simply mean HY = hybrid
14 = 14cm exhaust inlet
85 = 85mm compressor wheel
Just a thought
Doesn’t seem likely as the numbers don’t tally up. Hybrid possibly. But could stand for Hot Yoghurt for all I know 😂
@@StavTech could it have been a skunkworks project that never got fitted?
@@TD5rage well who knows, that’s the trouble. Could’ve been built as a test or dyno mule, could’ve been built for a spec that was never used, just don’t know.
The most commonly seen Holset turbos on these engines were full HX50 frame turbos, or full 4LGK frame turbos, but this is a hybrid of both.
@@StavTech if this is a hybrid of both then maybe someone got drunk one night and came up with this?
@@TD5rage whoever did it was very serious about it as making that adapter alone was no small task. But who knows
Sad, that turbo would be nasty on the mr2
I think you want to donate it to my Audi S1 hahaha!
Pretty please! 😘
If you can afford an Audi S1 you can afford to buy it more than I can afford to keep it
Thats normal old Holset compressor design. Doesnt flow very well at higher shaft speeds.
Off what? People say a lot of things with nothing to back it up.
@@StavTech 4LGK , turbine is also 4LGK size. Predecessor of HX55
@@V8Lenny not like any 4LGK compressor wheel I’ve seen. Got a part number, as none are even close to that that I can find.
@@StavTech they all look the same, cover also. HX60 also has that type of compressor.
@@V8Lenny you on about the housing? I’m on about the wheel. I know what the housing is.
Hey weld me some schedule 10 log manifold for 1.4l lol ik lots ppl to buy em
