@zest1989 When Benedikta force prime Garuda out of desperation it create a Vortex. Same as Wajias in Leviathan create a waterspout vortex sign of desperation. That where Clive reference came from.
This fight on FF mode kicked my ass, but then again, Leviathan has long been my favorite summon and I'm glad they got the respect of having what was perhaps the hardest fight in the entire game.

Yeah a sliver for me, just beat leviathan today not even three hours ago. For me this is by far and above my favorite fight of 16 and I have not even beat the game yet
Played through both DLC's back to back about a week ago and it really cemented this as one of my favourite games of all time. The soundtrack is obnoxiously good as well which just hammers everything home. I can't wait for it to come to PC and playthrough the whole thing again with higher FPS and crispy visuals. Thanks for posting this, absolute god tier music for an epic encounter.

I beat Leviathan on Final Fantasy mode. Hardest boss in the game, and honestly, even by Elden Ring and Dark Souls standards, it is very hard. They truly wanted to show us: "Think we can't make this game challenging?"

And since Waljas couldnt control the raging power of Leviathan itself inside him, the Eikon itself took over his small, frail body to wail out his frustrations and go berserk because of the previous sin of the people who used Leviathan's power for wrong purposes and Clive here really is doing everything he can to wake Waljas up from this nightmare just so he can save Waljas from eventually being swallowed completely by Leviathan

Getting through that DPS check after 6 previous attempts by spamming every backdraft finish combo that I could and utilizing a last second refilled Brimstone Eikon ability at the very last count of one was probably the most exhilarating experience I've had in FF16.

I have never seen anyone mention this, but this theme was only ever used in the very first trailer for the game, the reveal trailer, until Leviathan. I have a very strong belief that they in fact had both DLCs planned from the very beginning, or at least early enough in production, despite them saying they didnt had any plans for DLC. This theme supports that theory for Leviathan DLC and for Omegas DLC the little door that you go thru in the deadlands that takes you inside the tower was already there since day 1 of the game.
more like leviathan was cut content until now. This game went through it man, and so did the development team, the peak of the development cycle for this game for this was also during peak pandemic time, and the composer Soken was also battling cancer, everything had to be done remotely and a few things had to be cut because of that, some of those things being Leviathan and a few songs, this DLC gave us what was lost if you will.

I had less than 1 sec on the bobble break and no pot for the last ohase, took me so many tries, was impossible for me to avoid the tsunami without chogging pits and you had to be perfect at dodging and iframing the start of final phase

Thanks for this. I'm amazed that I genuinely hear elements from 15's Apocalypsis Sk---I mean, Aquarius, and it's incredible. All of it, it manages to tell a story where if we hadn't played the game or seen what happened, you could give a nice little synopsis or paragraph... and as long as you HEARD this? You'd get it. Story is passion, emotion, stupidity, bravery, endurance and sacrifice. All the stuff that we for ourselves really probably shouldn't be into... but fuck if it doesn't make what's true into something we've been given. We're just honestly most of the time too selfishly baffled to get that, due to everything else around us. Listen to this song made by your fellow humanity, there's hope in there. This was the only eikon fight I had to actually try on. Love it so much. The others are cool but I can just spam R1 on them. With this one I had to actually think through my moves (Especially on that monster of a DPS check).

I beat the DPS check first try but i did die after cause the first part of the fight was so much harder, rverything else was just challenging but fun the music goes so fucking hard. What most people dont know is when doing Ifrits combos, the third amd fourth fire blast, hit the button again and youll do a special attack that does alot more damage. It helped me out immensly without that, i would have failed the dps check too. Also use the skills as soon as they are ready!!! Edit: Also when i died i thought id have to do the whole thing over, so glad they let me continue juat after the dps check!!!!

Elden Beast ran away for 90% of the fight and has a mix of long windup attacks and coupled with the fact the player doesn’t get anywhere near the kind of movement Elden beast has, it’s not that enjoyable. Meanwhile Leviathan and Ifrits movement is at least on an even playing field, and the actual combat and moment to moment engagements are great. But to be fair, comparing Elden Beast to Leviathan is like comparing a Lion to a Tiger; sure they belong to the same family and share a couple traits, but they’re still fundamentally different.

Getting through that DPS check after 6 previous attempts by spamming every backdraft finish combo that I could and utilizing a last second refilled Brimstone Eikon ability at the very last count of one was probably the most exhilarating experience I've had in FF16.

I have never seen anyone mention this, but this theme was only ever used in the very first trailer for the game, the reveal trailer, until Leviathan.
I have a very strong belief that they in fact had both DLCs planned from the very beginning, or at least early enough in production, despite them saying they didnt had any plans for DLC. This theme supports that theory for Leviathan DLC and for Omegas DLC the little door that you go thru in the deadlands that takes you inside the tower was already there since day 1 of the game.

more like leviathan was cut content until now. This game went through it man, and so did the development team, the peak of the development cycle for this game for this was also during peak pandemic time, and the composer Soken was also battling cancer, everything had to be done remotely and a few things had to be cut because of that, some of those things being Leviathan and a few songs, this DLC gave us what was lost if you will.
Omg this was like the hardest Eikons to beat. I yelled at my tv for almost 3hrs Straight. No not the village all because of the water shield

I had less than 1 sec on the bobble break and no pot for the last ohase, took me so many tries, was impossible for me to avoid the tsunami without chogging pits and you had to be perfect at dodging and iframing the start of final phase
It was truly a hard fight imo.

Thanks for this. I'm amazed that I genuinely hear elements from 15's Apocalypsis Sk---I mean, Aquarius, and it's incredible. All of it, it manages to tell a story where if we hadn't played the game or seen what happened, you could give a nice little synopsis or paragraph... and as long as you HEARD this?

This was the only eikon fight I had to actually try on. Love it so much. The others are cool but I can just spam R1 on them. With this one I had to actually think through my moves (Especially on that monster of a DPS check).

Dealing with the Leviathan DPS check then wondering what I was doing wrong 😭 literally never died in this game until this DLC

I beat the DPS check first try but i did die after cause the first part of the fight was so much harder, rverything else was just challenging but fun the music goes so fucking hard. What most people dont know is when doing Ifrits combos, the third amd fourth fire blast, hit the button again and youll do a special attack that does alot more damage.
It helped me out immensly without that, i would have failed the dps check too. Also use the skills as soon as they are ready!!!
Edit: Also when i died i thought id have to do the whole thing over, so glad they let me continue juat after the dps check!!!!
The game is pretty good with checkpoints during boss fights.

Elden Beast ran away for 90% of the fight and has a mix of long windup attacks and coupled with the fact the player doesn’t get anywhere near the kind of movement Elden beast has, it’s not that enjoyable.
Meanwhile Leviathan and Ifrits movement is at least on an even playing field, and the actual combat and moment to moment engagements are great.
But to be fair, comparing Elden Beast to Leviathan is like comparing a Lion to a Tiger; sure they belong to the same family and share a couple traits, but they’re still fundamentally different.
