We welcome your comments on the open blog thread for this show.
    ► freethoughtblog...
TH-cam comments are at present disabled in our channel, to the displeasure of some. However, each video has a prominent link to the associated open thread that appears on our blog. In the past we've tried opening up the channel to comments, but we found that a very high number of episodes wound up being flooded with a combination of spam, long winded apologists, and various obscene or misogynistic comments directed at various hosts by people with an axe to grind. This seems to be the nature of TH-cam comment sections, in our experience.
We do moderate the blog, the same way that we moderate chat during the show, as well as comments on our Facebook group. For comment sections that are "officially" associated with our show (and, to a much lesser extent, channels that may give the unintended appearance of being official), we prefer not to play host to straight up ad hominem attacks and bigotry. As a general policy we do not block commenters simply on the basis of disagreement with our point of view. However, we do prefer discussion environments that don't actively chase off more reasonable contributors.

It literally couldn't be simpler. It's written in the book. How sociopathic do you have to be to argue so calmly about this like he is. To be SO dishonest to put slavery on the same tier as divorce. I feel for his wife if that's the case because this is an awful human being if he is serious. But I get the feeling you are right and he is just plainly exhibiting cognitive dissonance. At least I really really hope so.

To zero in on or specifically target christianity is unfair. Especially when what they were talking about was Jewish law. My point is it's not just christianity, it's any religion and the belief in one or many gods that you have to jump through mental hoops to justify it. Think of it this way, belief in god or gods is the Olympics and all the different religions are the different events in the Olympics and each competitor in each individual discipline, has to perform different mental gymnastics to justify their particular sport/religion.

It's hard to believe there is actually a god that's capable of creating the universe and everything in it . And yet be so stupidly insane and confusing when it comes to dealing with his so called favorite creations . If the christian god were actually real I'd want nothing to do with it .

    • @Nocturnalux

In Uncle Tom's Cabin- a novel that is hardly without severe problems, even if it is pro-abolition- the Christian author refers several times (and I believe in the introduction, too, where this is more clearly clarified) that the church as a whole is profoundly pro-slavery.
It was Stowe's intention to change this as she was painfully aware that Christianity was not just allowing slavery in thrive as it was endorsing and justifying it.
Like so many Christians she saw this as a failure of man and not with the bible, hers is just one of the many examples that show that historically the church has supported slavery with a few outliers who were often heavily persecuted.
Stowe was sent a human ear, from some poor black person, a savegery committed by a devout slave owner wanting to teach her a lesson. The horror of it all matches the profound irony as it only proves how utter inhuman slavery was.

The reference to God bringing the Israelites out of slavery as his forbidding slavery, there are three problems.
    1. Calling himself the god who brought "his" people out of slavery is used only to describe God, it is not a command.
    2. It only describes saving "his" people, it doesn't say that enslaving others is bad. He later condones - even orders - his people taking slaves. Jesus said "Slaves, obey your masters".
    3. Historical evidence points to the fact that the Israelites were never enslaved by Egypt.

It's because he wanted to murder that guy himself, and nobody should do it but him. Same here. 'I don't want the Israelites to be slaves. I want them to be the slave owners.'

    Jubilee Bible 2000
"And the LORD repented of having made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart."
God made a mistake and repented? God is not perfect?😕
An all knowing perfect God should not make mistakes because if he is truly an "All knowing God" then he would have known that the creation of man would not be perfect. God flooded the whole entire earth to only save a couple people to only get those same couple of people to repopulate the earth?.. ( Sounds like I huge mistake to me.😏)
And if that is true who else would have lived to tell about it? God flooded the whole entire world and how was Noah and the animals plus the others in the ark able to breathe oxygen without any trees 🌲 to give oxygen? Everything was covered in water no plant life=no oxygen
No oxygen =No oxygen breathing beings are able to live because they cannot breath without OXYGEN. 🤷🏽‍♂️ I'm not looking for a debate just wanted to point out my 💡 😀 critical thinking moment. Also God asked Satan where did he come from in
    Job 1:7 "
The Lord asked Satan, "Where have you come from?" "From roaming through the earth," Satan answered Him, "and walking around on it." I thought Satan was a serpent I'm Genesis so now I'm Job Satan is "walking?"
If I serve a God that is supposed to protect me and know everything about me then why does God have to ask Satan where did he come from?.. I don't want to serve a God that has to ask my enemy where he came from.😂 🤷🏽‍♂️ I choose not to beLIEve.
