Rob Halford is in his 60's in this video. They have been around for over 50 years. He is in his 70's now and still going strong.

You should definitely check out more Judas Priest! The back catalogue is really impressive and they have alot of "softer" music.

Rob's about 64 years old here, Glenn (the 1st soloist) is about 68.
My absolute favourite Priest song is "Run of the Mill" from their debut album in '74. Rob spends good deal of the song in his mid range before the dramatic climax, which you' surely appreciate. Be forewarned that there's a long, hypnotic & enjoyable instrumental that my not be the best for a vocal reaction.
2 more songs that brilliantly display Rob's vocal range come from their 2nd album in '76. "Victim of Changes" is a rocker, "Dreamer Deceiver" is a wonderful ballad. Both are vocally brilliant.
Perhaps the best song to display Rob's octave range of clean vocals is "Here Come the Tears" from their 3rd album in '77. It's a slow lament with lots of vocal lows & highs. It seamlessly leads into the proto-thrash banger "Dissident Aggressor", which is also quite a vocal feat, so I definitely recommend letting it play through both tracks.
    Cheers!

Halford is 72 and still hitting crazy highs. The man is a legend.

The drummer, Scott Travis , is American. He is from the great Racer X band. He joined Priest in 1990 for the Painkiller album.

The studio version is much better - recorded years before as, by this stage in their career, though still great, they are no longer the force they were. Halford can still sing to a high level, as Priest's just released record confirms but the standard is high, as he has one of the greatest metal voices of all time. His consistency on this live performance points toward a diminishing of the great powers he once had.

When you realize that Glen Tipton (the guitar player) played that painkiller solo and he have Parkinson it makes more heavy and epic than never. Some years ago Richie Faulkner (the other guitar player) was playing the same solo and had an HEART ATTACK and he didnt stop the song. This music is simple Heavy Metal and there are no other words to describle!

that voice speaking to the crowd is their drummer Scott Travis. He is from the US. Rest of them are from B'ham. and you should have used the studio version when Rob was younger, not to say in his prime.

Ok this is my brother's favourite band! I never got too much into them because too high of a voice! You know me 😝 But I am so happy to see you exploring more into metal! Metal vocalists are some of the best out there. Great reaction and analysis as always 👍👍👍👍
Since you are into the metal lane and with the holidays around the corner maybe you would consider a reaction to Sabaton - Christmas Truce? 🤞😉
And for Christmas I would certainly recommend Home Free as always. Full of cheer (original) or Grandma got run over by a reindeer (cover) both hilarious!😂

Rob Halford has the best voice in all of metal. This performance isn't the greatest to show off his vocal abilities, i would definitely suggest listening to Dreamer Deceiver/Deceiver live at the Ole Grey Whistle or check out anything from live at the Seminole concert like Victim Of Changes, as he can travel up and down the scale with a 4 octave range very easily. He is now 72 and they have a new album coming out in March of 2024 and they have released 2 songs from that album

That weird crouchy pose is his new way of singing after blowing out his voice and completely relearning how to sing healthy 20 or so years ago. Old style sounds amazing, but i wasn't very surprised to learn it was unsustainable. Silent Screams is an absolute must after this

Sam.. Yes, instrumental and vocally. ❤️ If you want to see the most impressive drummer I've ever seen, it's Dusan from "2Cellos". He's got a video of his drumming bits. He is simply amazing.
Have you checked Deep Purple "Child in Time"? Ian Gillan voice on that is spectacular. And the instrumentaisation is undeniably quality 1960s and 1970s.
