Thank you for informing us about your health scare earlier of this year and the reason why you would need to take a break and come out and post a couple videos a month
Good morning Randy. The 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo is a good looking car. The Ford Focus is a good looking car even though it's got a little front end damage on the passenger side.
I have a Monte that I inherited, that’s very similar to that one. Good to know that it can go that many miles. Mine just turned to 70,000 miles. Has the blend door issue too.
on those 2005 dodge rams, they dont usually survive any more than a love tap when being rear ended, the rear dif and drive shafts are like sun baked popsicle sticks. they snap and seperate easily and cost upwards of 2k to fix. So there is a very real chance that rear end cosmetically ruined that tailgate, but created a disaster on the underside of that rear end. along with the fact the transmissions after a good bonk sometimes start gear searching. I love dodge rams, but they paper tigers when it comes to any time of collision.
I had a Focus S as a commuter car. I bought the extended warranty and at 70,000 miles the clutch slave cylinder started leaking. A $100 deductible and everything replaced in the bell housing. Sold it with 126,000 and it still ran great. I drove it fast on a 44 mile each way commute for six years.
Get well soon Randy. Randy I've been preparing a 1989 Ford F-250 XLT Lariat regular cab with a really nice interior in blue for a guy like Monkey wrench Mike. I serviced the passenger side exhaust manifold and other barn find issues. It was owned by an old Equestrian fellow here in the big Mo. Ozarks. The frame is good and the body is in good shape. The truck has the factory towing set up and later a filth wheel pin was added by a pro in the bed. Here is the kicker. It's got only 81,000 miles in the dial. I'll make contact when it's timed and back to smooth soon.
I had a 1995 Dodge 3500 Dually cummins. I'd buy one of those again in a heartbeat. Let my ex convince me to sell it when it needed a new transmission after 350k miles... biggest regret was selling that truck
You always have to wipe a dipstick. Just because there is oil on the dipstick does not mean that there is enough oil in the crankcase. It just means that there is oil in the crankcase. have you ever heard of an oil splasher?? Most engines have them. You must always wipe a dipstick. Otherwise it’s useless to even pull it out. The only time you can check it without wiping the stick is after it has been sitting for a long time.. You should know this if you know anything about vehicles.
If there was no oil in it, it wouldn't be splashed all up the dipstick like that. There's enough there to start it up and idle it. It's not like he's putting the engine under load.
I've owned and own several of these 6th gen Monte Carlos and for whatever reason the dash pads absolutely love to start peeling up at the corner near the second center vent. It's never if, it's when
If it's the blue with the flames that's not a Dale Earnhardt edition, that's the Jeff Gordon edition. The black is Dale Earnhardt, the red is Dale Earnhardt Jr, and blue was Jeff Gordon. In 2005 there was a Tony Stewart edition that was black with orange trim along the bottom..
Having a piece of evidence sitting in an open auction lot probably destroys any chain of evidence whether it be a civil or criminal proceeding. If someone is facing a serious penalty I'd scream bloody murder in a court of law if any evidence stored like this was introduced into the proceeding.
When you sold that Merc to Monkey wrench Mike, that was the 1st video I saw of yours. Had no idea who Mike was at that time. Been a fan of this channel ever since. Keep up the good work.
A refresher course on the GM 3900: The LZ9 and LGD versions that I would buy are in Buick Terrazas for 2007. In 2006 the 3900 was an option. I also have a 2011 Buick Lucerne (converted into a WILDCAT) with the Flex Fuel LGD. The 3500 from 2005 to 2006 was not as reliable. I recall seeing this engine in Pontiac G6s from almost twenty years ago.
Sorry you’re under the weather today and having to work when you should be taking it easy really sucks. I liked the pickup truck. Hopefully, you’ll win it. - Thomas
The algorithm knows..I just brought my truck back from there a few days ago after insurance adjuster totaled it. it's still got the metal band with my keys on it around the steering column 😅. Neat place if you like treasure hunting.
Ok … you Did alright , up until you checked the oil level… that’s where you miss the crucial issue ! That oil on the dip stick shows me that there is anti freeze mixed in with the oil !!! Now , that tells me that there is a bad head gasket or cracked head or block ! That’s why the engine lights came on like they did 👍🙏🇺🇸…
The noise coming from the AC might be a receipt or something that was in the glove box got sucked into the fan. It happened to my brand new 96 Chevy Baretta. The service center said it happens all the time
Good afternoon Randy I just got done watching your Copart walk around video that you posted for us to watch. My family has had mainly fords, and we have never had a trans problem. we have a 2009 Ford focus, got fresh off the lot, and never had any major mechanical issues 6:45
Don't buy a Ford with a 10 speed trans. There will be lawsuits 💯 percent as you have to rebuild it ever 100k miles and it's known. The rebuild is like 7 grand if you don't have warranty.
1st car you would spend $2k at a cheap shop fixing or $1k doing it yourself. For a 200k mile car. if you got it for $100 and did work yourself for an around town car may be worth it.
Fixed alot of those Impala and monte Carlos Blend door behind the glove box and used Panel bond with paint sticks wedged against the windshield to fix the dash till it dries
A manual Ford Focus is absolutely reliable, its a tank. They have very few, minor issues and with the MTX75 5 speed and 2.0L, it'll run forever with basic maintenance. I do own a 2014 SE w/ 5 speed with 85,000 miles. I bought it new and couldn't imagine getting rid of it. its a really good car. With the automatics there does seem to be an actual fix for it and it can be done fairly easily, and its not crazy expensive.
Impala would be a good a to b car. I know you told us about the cars in red bags. Like you said the Benz really nice except for the front end damage. Dodge truck be a good one for MWM. Like the shirt.
The dentside Ford looks clean. Its missing a carb and air cleaner assy (probably some Holley stuff the donor kept, which is not uncommon). The rest looked nice. Not showroom, but odd that it was donated. Engine looks like a 390 to me, but hard for me to tell example on trucks.
7:32 This is the worst thing one can do - cover a car with a plastic foil and let it sit for years. Condensation and high humidity occur under this foil. All steel parts start to rust.
Wrapped up so when insurance or police do an investigation, the cars haven’t been gone through, pieces taken off, nor can someone say that evidence was planted, or someone doesn’t leave their innocent finger prints on potentially a crime scene! I feel like Randy has said this a few times in old videos.
I have a 08 Altima and a transmission in it is fantastic very tight smooth people take them in and out of gear too fast that's how trouble starts in them in the first place
My wife was in an accident and my pickup had to be towed, snd somewhere between the towyard and IAA in Justin, Tx my pickup was burglarized they stole everything from our clothes to tools to the cat and dpf being stolen naturally IAA and the tow company blamed each other with no one divulging the name of the company that transported pickup from tow yard in mckinney to iaa in justin. 2017 Ford Focus hatchback 2.0 litre engine with 345,000 kms still running smooth ! Regular maintenance is the key. And a little luck 😁
I bought a 06 G6 at auto auction and restored it. Turned into a nice little car. Has the 3900 LZ9 engine in it, 200K miles.

World wide toyota and honda are the best chevy or ford or dodge they are ok only for the first 3 years after that they are belong to the junk yard
The older ones are, these new turbo motors are junk. Untested, unproven, and already recalled for debris in the motor from machining.
