My only disappointment with neon dynasty was that they didn’t print any new arcane spells. I had a pretty sweet splice onto arcane spirits deck that I was really hoping to get some new spells for.
I think the problem with both tribal/kindred and snow is that it doesn't make sense unless you're all in on it. For example, why isn't Inverted Iceberg snow? Why isn't Deeproot Pilgrimage a Merfolk? It is flavorful, but it adds unnecessary complexity and inconsistency.
And in Commander, it's busted in Zask decks as it's an insect that you can keep recasting from your graveyard, as it never "dies" to trigger the shuffle in.
Masked vandal is also often played in pauper as a single copy in moggwarts (rakdos goblin combo). Goblin matron can tutor any goblin and this card is also a 'goblin'. It serves as tutorable remtival if needed.
@@NizzahonMagic Well then you should probably have counted Mutavault as well^^ Though they probably would've shared the same slot for the sake of keeping the list interesting
Maskwood Nexus also doesn't give changeling, it gives all creatures you control, all creature spells you controll and all creature cards you own all creature types
Because of layers, any effect that says "target creature gains changeling" doesn't work. The creature will have the changeling ability, but it will not be all creature types. That's why every effect like this says "target creature gains all creature types" instead.
I don't like how arbitrary is. Basically every card that creates a token will then have to be kindred of that creature type, which then makes noncreature spells more easily searched for by some creature tutors. Making tribal/kindred evergreen will fundamentally change how the game works.
My understanding is the only reason they stopped using tribal is because they didn't want to retroactively change a bunch of cards again (Great creature type update)
4:14 they actually haven’t changed the card type Tribal to Kindred, they’re just trying to change the out of game term (as in “my deck is dragon tribal”)
Nope, they are changing the type entirely: magic.wizards.com/en/news/announcements/card-updates-coming-with-khans-of-tarkir-on-mtg-arena They are using typal for the deck type.
Ahhh Changelings, I'ma be real, I have never cared about them. Maybe it's seeing that obnoxious Taurean Mauler in every aggro commander deck, but I'd very much prefer to just play the creatures over the changelings, unless it was changeling tribal. But in the spirit of this list, this comment is a changeling that also asks for "Top 10 Vintage Cards (Minus Power 9)"!
My only problem with changeling is that some people will use the key words' existence as an excuse to say any new 'lord' is viable no mater how few actual creatures it supports.
@@JasonOshinko because this is the 3rd time (i belive) they want to change it and no one realy cares so just leave it as it is printed on the physical cards.
My gripe with this change is the fact that it's mostly on old cards which might never get reprinted again, and so now we have a new name (existing solely in oracle text) for an old mechanic that people will still be probably calling by its old name. Not necessarily because they don't agree with the change, but just because... they won't be able to remember the new one.
@@sallomon2357They said they specifically changed it to reprint it. They probably just mean an occasional Bitterblossom in a bonus sheet, but yeah, we are getting some.
@@fernandobanda5734 I dunno, they announced they would be replacing the Naga subtype with Snake along with the other changes connected to KtK's release on Arena and... they still haven't done it while the Rakshasa change was made immediately (unless it's an exception cause they had to commission new art for it beforehand. But then... the Naga change is simple, it's just swapping the typeline, so it's weird that they haven't touched it).
6:33 I was not aware that MtG had been around since the Third Century CE. 😂
I liked tribal spells, I wish they came back.
But then I also liked arcane, there is design space there

G/W spirts splice on arcane was my jam!
I love and miss arcane and spirits and old kamigawa in general
Should be noted that changeling outcast also is legal in historic, where it might end up also making a top 8
Realmwalker and Masked Vandal also see some play in Historic.
Nameless Inversion also counts as two card types for Goyf or Delirium
And in Commander, it's busted in Zask decks as it's an insect that you can keep recasting from your graveyard, as it never "dies" to trigger the shuffle in.

Glad you finally covered Ouphe tribal!
Have loved Nameless Inversion ever since Haakon in standard!
Top 5 basic lands? I’m curious which colors have had the best tournament results over time.
(6:11) Wow, Chameleon Colossus has existed for over 1800 years?! :P
(Maybe you meant 2006 instead of 206, except Morningtide came out in 2008. Welp.)
lorewise, the strongest changeling leads the Dimir guild on Ravnica and his/her/its name is Lazav 😉
Bruh just say "their" 💀
@@iamthetable8131 no. As a changeling can be an he, she or it. Not a they. (Dumb Americans)
Also, they sing if someone accidentally targets it illegally with a removal spell.
Somewhat surprised to not see Faceless Haven on here with its activated ability.
It doesn't technically have Changeling, but I probably should have counted it.

I have a interesting vein ripper/ Ovar deck to make a shit ton of vein rippers then just wipe. Made a life gain deck that was 98 life scoop
One of my favorite Kaldheim decks was a changeling deck! Excited for this list!
Does this include cards that had all creature types before the “changeling” keyword began? Mistform Ultimus comes to mind.
Isn’t the outcast in historic? I just played against it yesterday
Wait what? Tribal was changed to Kindred? Can I get a source on that?
I'm sure it didn't make the list, but were you also considering Mistform Ultimus for this one, since it was basically the first Changeling card?
Just found your channel and like how you explain things and how you present things.
Thanks!
Changeling colossus came out 1800 years ago?
Yep.
top ten sideboard?
*GIVE US THIS LIST!*
I expected Faceless Haven. Turns out ; it does't actually get Changeling when animated
Shoutout to one of my favorite cards, Cairn Wanderer
pauper is honestly the most fun format
Wait im not in the loop, why are they changing tribal? I like those spells
Only the name is changing. They still function exactly the same.
Cause "tribal" is offensive or something it's stupid and was offending no one or at least no one that actually played the game
No Birthing Boughs, Mutavault, or Faceless Haven?
Edit: I guess Mutavault and Haven don't have Changeling, but how about Maskwood Nexus?

Maskwood Nexus creates a token with changeling though, just like Birthing Boughs.
Good Doors song too!
Can you do Top Ten cards that were made for commander that broke other formats
I wish they'd actually fix tribal & turn it evergreen. There's potential there.

Changelings do at least have a function in that they fill out semi-under supported tribes for tribal commander decks.
Thanks for being real instead of not real.

Huh, fair.
