not once did i ever consider that a large format photo could be a one of one piece, without even a digital scan. really interesting to think about.

Yes! It was something I only really thought about when I started to use 4x5 and since then have done a few pieces where the negative is the actual work of art. For 4x5, you could even use slide film (if its still available) and display that as the piece so no printing or digitization needed!

I am starting to use my crown graphic for street work. I use a later version with the graphic (top mounted) rangefinder. They are quite cheap and would probably resolve a lot of the issues you are facing with the Polaroid.

Hello and thank you for the comment and suggestion! I have used some press style cameras in the past and really enjoyed them for photos I can take my time with. For street I always thought they would be a bit too big and cumbersome but if I get a chance I will try it out.

Nice! I hope the video could give you some reference for your own projects. For the right subject matter and with a more proper camera I think it could be a fantastic option! Let me know if you go through with it and how you got around any issues with 4x5.

There are adapters in the market that don't leak light.

I haven't tried other modifications, but from what I've seen the more sturdy ones add quite a bit of bulk. The appeal for this modification was the size but of course that proved to have its own challenges. If possible I'd like to pick up a cambo wide which should be a better solution for my needs. Thanks for the comment!

The bulk issue not at all true, certainly not in every case. In the start, years and years ago, bulk, problem, yes and yes, some of those are still around. They are no longer the only ones. Your're welcome for the comment!@@TheWholePicture
