    Love the modularity of your setup. Give's plenty of choices. It also helps if you have the gear to easily remove and put back the canopy and/or RTT when needed. Have you thought about any support for the centre of your RTT? With the brackets at the very extremities of the RTT, it could bend. Plus, I'd recommend placing a locking mechanism on your rear hoop to the tray. Depends on the environment you'll tackle while using it, it could vibrate/bounce itself to damage.

      Thanks mate! I did some testing before mounting to make sure it didn't say in the middle, the shell and floor seem to be plenty rigid for 2 people. Probably wouldn't go jumping around in there though just to be safe!

    Its looking awesome mate...all you need is some lockers and then you have an absolute weapon ready for any type of wheeling, im guessing you going to Tasie all i can say if your planning the $1.000 track your going to be winching the whole way without lockers especially winter time...Just some advice use nylon nuts when mounting tent and awnings they tend not to go loose easy when doing rough wheeling 😉...

    Nice work, great video. Seems the RTT is really becoming OP - easier set up and pack up. No one wants to be setting up for more than a few minutes in the rain.
    My last camping attempt with a tent ended in a disaster - 50 mm of rain, our allotted camp site was low lying land that had all the water washing through and our old tent had holes in the top and bottom. Needless to say the tent went in the bin and my family doesn't want to try again any time soon.
    I still want to try again but with some newer tech sleeping arrangements (and I don't want a bloody caravan).

    • @ianweal3081
      @ianweal3081 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Mate, once you get a quality RTT with total simplicity to set up pack down you'd happily throw the swag & stretcher some place never to be used again.
      We went from ground onto stretcher just because age was making ground dwelling difficult (40 years of swagging it, you're up there too just as we were).
      We'd all but given camping away until I discovered a TH-cam channel of an older couple utilising a Bundutop RTT. Followed their lead, sourced the Bundutop, camping or glamping as I call it now is now an option again.

    I like the concept of three different setups but I can envisage that rear bar giving you the sh!ts every time you hit a pot hole or the corrugations, it's likely to slide up and down somewhat, potentially causing damage. Also, in my opinion the RTT should also have some support in the centre of it like another rail or some rubber perhaps. It's ok when there's no weight in it but will flex when you get in it. I would at least put a couple of tie down ratchets to keep the rear bar in place for the interim whilst you figure out the best way to anchor it. Other than that, good work and good setup.

    i said the same thing about a swag ( never get one ) when i had a tent, then said same thing about the swag re a camper or van...sometimes, one moves on to suit you. health issues for me, i have a van.. yes, granted, it may reduce my ability to get to some spots, i will glady trade that off to avoid 30 minutes of setting up canvas and shit in the pissing rain when i can do it in less than 2, let alone the pack up time.
