everyone is talking about how to aim at a target but no one is talking about how to set t poid or maverick on a new target elsewhere
I'm finding the hardest part is to get the target in the tpod

If memory serves me right the IR Mavs can not force correlate. The EO Mavs are the only ones that can. It's the same with the hog. It's nice to do longer range shots by locking onto the ground of the target. Not as precise but it does work well
Gets pretty precise though through the TGP, of course only against static targets.
I love F16 so much, with maverick it is more powerful

Is there any way to stabilize the pointing (before locking) on the ground without the tpod (and pre mode)?
You're supposed to blow the dome cover before you can see the maverick picture. Also what about boresighting the mavericks because mounting them to the aircraft creates inaccuracies between the spi so the maverick wouldn't be looking in the same place as the tgp when you first turn it on

So I’m having an issue where I’ve got the HUD as SOI but the box won’t slew with my assigned RDR cursors. If I make the maverick SOI it slews on my MFD. help? I want to use the box on the HUD and not the MFD but the sucker won’t move.

I'm always stuck at the "T" indicator as described at 10:10 , it never changes to "C", what could be the reason? And besides, does the slaving to the tpod work the same way for all mavericks, no matter if laser or TV guided?

I have the answer to that question. You have to boresight your AGM on the Ground in order to use them with your TGP. Just watch YT you find a tut!

ok you explain everything great but in no video did you explain how to direct the floor to the center or the direction in which you are flying i when the applied target t the floor stays in place and I cannot return it to the starting position

Learning how to use the F16 properly is quite hard! I did not understood how to transfer the tgp point track to the maverick but I think watching the video a couple more times will do it.

If i do not use TGP, just slave/move the Maverick crosshair to the target and change back to NAV mode(after kill the enemies), then the steerpoints absoluteli become inaccurate.. How can i reset the cursor(steerpoints) to Zero (without TGP,) ??

The t-pod for the F-16 underwent some updates before and its harder to use after that, except if you do pre-planned. Not sure if the current state of the F-16 t-pod is considered the final state.
Loads of changes for F-16 TPOD coming.
I just observed a problem,i don't know if other people have it too.If the F16 is loaded with AGMs,after i press the A-G mode,then i loose the waypoint marks on th HUD and they do not return even if i exit the A-G mod and enter in NAV mode.So the only way to follow the route,is by looking at the HSD.The autopilot also,doesn't follow the route,although set to STG.This only happens with AGMs.With other kind of load,everything is ok.

I m having an issue with the d or h variant locking up. I follow provides to the T and they do not lock. Everything is as it should auto and pre. No auto lock. Operator error or could it be a glitch?
I love flying and fighting the f 14 and f16. The mavericks have been my biggest hangup on the 16 though and some of the other air to ground stuff. I just can't seem to get a good keyboard mapping done for the f16 so I spend alot of time in the 14. I'm hoping tonspend some more time on the 16 soon and try to get some of it down better to use it more

I might have missed it but I don't think he talked about how to make it so the maverick display idk how to say it like doesn't go along with the aircraft like to lock it into the ground so it doesn't move nvm I figured it out
still, sometimes I loose sync between maverick and TPD and cant get it back (mav does not react to TPD movements anymore).
Also, when I aim at something with my TPD , dive, get close and want to shoot the Mav, it is not on target (somewhere near instead)

I know this is a old video but ive run into a issue with the F16. No matter what AMG65 missile i use when they hit the target there is no explosion or damage from the missile. My GB10 bombs work perfectly. Any advice would be amazing. Many thanks.
Hi all, just learning the 16 having spent the past year in the 18 but having a few problems with mavs in the 16.
When using the HUD and VIS mode to select a point, then SOI down to the mavs screen, the mavs doesn't always track.
I thought I need to uncage like the 18 but apparently not?
When it does slew the mavs on target and I aquire a lock, weapons won't release.
I feel like a muppet here but following this and other videos to the word. What an I doing wrong? (yes, master arm is on) 😂

I NEVER could get it to uncage or to fire. I was playing the F-18 mission for Maverick training.
F/A 18 is different than the f16
A lot of times the handoff with the TGP isn't working, the process stops at T with the auto handoff many times and manual the crosshairs vanish instead of closing when trying to lock the mav. Have you found this problem and if so any hints or if a bug a work around?

I found same prob, I don't know enough about why it's doing it.
range I think? I kept doing it at max range and getting that and then I tried moving closer and it seemed to fix it every time.

Isn't it the same as used to change the radar elevation? Try the RDR ANT ELEvation keys.

I seem to be having an issue with the slave bit of this using the Tpod, I do everything as instructed but am constantly finding the maverick seeker to be pointing a couple of hundred feet above/below/to the side of where the Tpod is pointing. So can never get a consistant lock to fire. I seem to have fluked it off a couple of times and made it work but sadly they've been rare events. Any help? (no issues with using the seeker head to lock on, just Tpod issues)

It basically involved locking on to something with the tpod and then putting the maverick into boresight mode and locking on to the same thing so that when the tpod does the hand-off the maverick ends up looking at the same place for the target. Might have changed since, I've not tried for a while

The problem that I have when using the PRE mode is when I'm flying using the active pause in the air (where everything is turned on) all work perfect but thing changes when I take off from a runway, when I turn on the mav seeker and use the TGP as well, the seeker maverick doesn' t lock the same target as the TGP and to correct that I have to manually lock the target with the mavericks, even though I do the same as in the active pause.
*In active pause= works
*In norrmal fly= doesn' t work
Could you please do a video using the PRE mode (slave) from the beginning you take off till you reach the targets and fire the agm 65D?
Late response, but yeah to use mavericks in PRE mod properly you need to "boresight" it
While flighting to target zone lock one random building or something else, do the same thing to your TGP pod and then press BSGT button on MFD with maverick seeker, this applies only to one station, so make sure to do this with all stations

cant speak for the f16...yet. but in the a10 it doesnt always lock right away. may need to be closer and keep spamming the lock button

By the time I get ready to lock I would be past 5nm from target lol. So many button axes. I'm running out of buttons to assign here.

So if someone already has the JF-17, would he be gaining anything by getting the F-16 as well, like any new capabilities, or would it strictly just be the cool factor of having an F-16? In other words, does the F-16 really bring anything new to the table (now or after it's supposed to be completed) in terms of weapons or systems that the Jeff doesn't have?
VERY similar aircraft. Slightly better quality module. Can carry slightly more. Bit prettier.

Is it possible to shot multiple targets at once?
For example you are circling in about 20nm distance and there are 4 tanks
You give every maverick its own target and you start turning in for one single approach.
I believe he said its not a function YET.
You can use the TGP to target, fire, transfer to next target, lock, fire, etc. I find AG in the F16 frustratingly clunky. Seems to be a symptom of the early access module.
Hey cap, is it possible to do AGM lift tossing like you do with bombs?
Neg, they just level out immediately, but you can get 15 miles if you force correlate from 25k feet.

@@grimreapers I'm using the auto function on the TGP. I get the message "handover in progress" then the T Symbol appears on the TGP. I can see that the Maverick is looking at the point that the TGP is locked onto but the maverick doesn't lock on to the target that I've designated on the TGP & made a point target.

Controlling the TPOD on the F16 is a pain in the arse
I can't get my TMS-UP to lock any target. As soon as I do, it goes' (not soi) Super frustrating.

@@kaden612 No, I have not encountered that issue yet. TMS down should unlock your house\target. Or you can try and cycle air to ground mode, as it will reset the system and slew the curser back to the centre. I hope that helps.
Maybe TMS up and DMS up are mapped to the same thing in controls?

Anything that you get a lock on. I prefer IR mavs.

F18 if you want it 90% complete F-16 50% complete. Depends how long you want to wait for completion.

I am able to follow all the instructions in the f16 maverick training mission but when I go to an online server and do everything the same I am unable to release the maverick. I am locking on within 7nm its successfully handing off from the pod to the missile. But the missile will never release for me.
I think you mean, GYRO, Stabilized.. Not ground.. I could be wrong but Ground stabilized, sounds like ground assisted.. or something.. Hornet needs that slave mode for the Laser Mavericks, Difficult to laze, and then while lasing, switch, SOI, To mav page... uncage, then. While lasing, weapon release. Dam Falcon, or, viper got a Hog load of Mavericks..

A,D,E,F,G,H,K at moment. Viggen uses the A and I think another one that I don't know the code of.

@@allemattio u need to go into control settings, you will find two dropdowns in the upper left corner where you can select all different aircraft and their respective keybinding categories. The command you are searching for is in the "GUI Layer" i think (where you choose f16 or any plane)

STT-TWS lock for the mirage 2000 STILL DON'T WORKING!!! Even after this update you can't lock any target with the radar. Bore-vertical and the other scans are working fine

Hell I can't even get my maverick's to launch let alone get them locked up on any of my mfd's. I can lock you through the hud just fine. My tpod totally different story cant never get it to work let alone lock anything up smh
What changed with the Tpod? I've been flying the A-10C for a while, but I remember using/guiding the Tpod in the 16 for targets of interest was easy with LGBs. Now I'm struggling.
@@icin4d I've been working with the F-16 viper getting to know it. Last Time I flew the 16 was wayyyy back to falcon 4.0 if I remember lol. But the tpod on the 16 can't get to work dont know if it's a bug or what. Works fine on the F-18. 16 NO! But other then that I can't get my maverick's to launch

@@icin4d I can get a good lock in soi with the hud. But I still can't get my maverick's to launch even though I know it's a good lock. My mfd's no luck. And the tpod just dont work
@@Dachamp2001 I've only been using the MFD for Mav lock (IR). For me, a HUD lock (DMS Down) only gets the Mav looking in the area. I then slew to the target in the MFD, and TMS forward to lock the seeker head. That's what has been working for me so far.
