      Use detergent and soap up the two top corners. Place those two corners into the frame at 45 degrees or less if you can and slide an rotate the fly screen. Once they are in position, lift the fly screen up as far as you can and the bottom two corners should simply pushed into the frame.
      The detergent really makes a big difference.

    Thank-you Bill! I made 5 flyscreens on the weekend. All installed and for the first time since we moved into the house, we've had the windows open! Makes such a difference as the weather is warming up.
    Next problem - the windows are from the 70's, with these corkscrews in the sides of the frames, and presumably 2 of them have failed, because a previous owner has pop riveted them closed! :}

    This was a terrific simple tutorial. I have no window recess and a handle that protrudes beyond the frame how can I get around this. A roller shutter wouldn’t work unless I take the roller blind off the window. Any ideas? I’d love to see how you fit this to your own window too

    Great tutorial. Question though, I want to install a window air conditioner unit into a sliding window with the flyscreen, can I make a frame that incorporates the ac unit (so it has a few extra corners rather than a normal rectangle) and install it that way?

    Thanks Bill. Such a clear and easy-to-follow video! I have made my fly screen and it's perfect. However, I have awning windows and have to cut a chunk out of the bottom (leaving just the trench for the spline) to fit over the wind-out mechanism. Do you know what tool I would nee and how I can achieve this? The hack saw can do the vertical cut (although it is tricky because it is higher than my angle-cut thing), but I can't work out how to successfully make a horizontal cut. Any ideas?

      @@rafac13 I'm guessing make it a millimeter or so bigger. I'm going to make one in a week, I'll report back if I remember. If it's a little loose, you can get little swivel tabs that flip open and shut to hold the screen securely.

      I had a plastic channel system on my windows. They seemed like a good idea - the screen slides up and down but they were removed for a painting job and now I need to try and make new fly screen frames and thinking clips might be easier? Not sure! Need a demo video Bill 🤓

    Hey mate.
    How do you install a long narrow fly screen like the one you made In this video?
    I have replaced the bigger square ones before with easy. but when it came to my bathroom window. I couldn't get it back in. Seems the small ones are way harder to install cause they have less give.
    Anyways my bathroom has been fly screen less for 2 weeks now
    Any tips?

    Nice video bro, I skipped ahead coz I've done the flyscreen repairs part. However I was wondering how much overlap you like your frame to have as to nestle into the flyscreen slot on the window frame? So if window is 700W would you add say 10mm either side so it slots in nicely?
