At this point you probably know this already but the ed song of season 2 actually shows the relationship between kiritsugu and Irisviel. It shows how kiritsugu has changed Irisviel's life and why she loves him so much
Enjoyed the reaction. My sadness with Fate/Zero is that Irisviel is my favorite character, and I knew she was doomed from the start (: (Of course, I also like other characters.) At this point in the story Berserker really is an enigma, and I realized he was the only Heroic Spirit that hasn't had their identity divulged. I think Saber is supposed to the heroic spirit that viewers are expected to be rooting for the most, given that she is front and center in the OP and also that, unlike most heroric spirits save the now gone Lancer, she's the one who experiences inner turmoil and uncertainity as she tries to reconcile her ideals with her situation. This also made me wonder about the rest of the Arthur Legend and how it works with a female Arthur. The most popular legend had King Arthur, his queen Guinevere, and his greatest knight Sir Lancelot in a love triangle ... and ended with Arthur's bastard son (from an earlier relationship) Mordred betraying him. Wonder how that would work in Fate's version with Arthur being a woman? (Assuming, of course, the gender of none of the other figures were switched).
Here is the explaination about Arthur and Mordred, its not a direct spoiler to anything, especially you wont find the answer about Arthurs gender in any fate anime, but Mordred will show up in another fate anime: Here is a "easy" explaination without explaining too much about the fate/nasuverse: Even though Artoria is female, she kinda isnt on the same time. Mordred also became "female" and is summoned as a servant in fate apocrypha (netflix adaptation). Yet Artoria is still her father. Sounds confusing and it kinda is considering that the male king Arthur version also exists within the fate/nasuverse. I think its easiest to just pretend that Artoria is just like male King Arthur from the legend even though she looks female, because her wife Guinevere still exists in the fate version. If you want to know the complex explaination that includes some major knowledge of the entire fate/nasuverse which might contain some spoilers that are unrelated to fate zero, yet might be related to other fate/nasuverse works: She is from a different timeline where the male king arthur doesnt exist. Her real name is Artoria and she pretended to be a dude because it was obviously easier for a man to rule a kingdom than for a woman. Guinerve knew, yet still married her. A few members of the round table also figured it out most likely. Merlin also knew. The reason why she is from a different timeline/world is because the earth in the fate/nasuverse is actually alive and has its own will and functions like a multiverse on its own. All these timelines exist simultaneously upon the same physical planet (aka the earth in the fate/nasuverse). Every single timeline is considered to be canon though and in the end, there are no major differences between Artoria and King Arthur, as they are pretty much the same person with the same legend, yet different genders. So King Arthur is both male and female. Oh and btw, if you wonder how Artoria can have a Child (Mordred) as a "father" even though she is female: Merlin likely gave her a dick, so she can hide her true gender and have a child with another female. It was never really confirmed, yet is the only thing that would make sense. It was also only temporarily. You want to know how we know? Well, you can see that she doesnt have a dick anymore in the fate/stay night uncensored visual novel lol
Merlin's illusionary magecraft made everyone see Artoria Pendragon as a man not as a woman. Although few were suspicious about it, none of them dared to prove it out. Morgan planned to make a homunculus baby who'll look similar to Artoria, so she asked Merlin for his help. Merlin gave Artoria a temporary pseudo male sex organ aka penis from which her essence was extracted by Morgan.
@@aqrxv From what I recall, it probably came from the game Fate/Grand Order considering that's where Merlin and all the other Knights of the Round Table appear.

@@scares3859 Interesting! Does that come up in other anime, or is it game only?
