The ultron on the animated series existed for a long period of time, while in the movies about what two weeks? A month at best. So ultron is very inexperienced yet with "it's" capabilities.
I call this one the "popcorn movie" of all the Avengers films. It's a fun little, mindless romp. Sure it sets up major plotlines for the rest of the Infinity arc, but for the most part, it's the "calmest" of the four movies.
You can tell Ultron was made by Tony just from the way he speaks. How hes able to crack jokes and constantly make fun of the avengers despite his goal being the extinction of humanity

It wasn't that he found Thor to be boring when he was making those movies. He ALWAYS enjoyed the role. He was just getting tired of playing the same role the same way. He did consider retiring the role after his contract was up, but decided against doing so. He credited Thor: Ragnarok with revitalizing his interest in playing Thor, as he was allowed to take some risks and experiment more, which he continued to try to do in Infinity War and Endgame. Now he's open to extending his contract and continuing to play the role.

I miss this MCU. Don’t get me wrong, the new MCU is really promising with things like the multiverse and cosmic stuff but I miss it when it wasn’t all complicated. We literally thought that the biggest threat was Loki and Hydra at that time lol
My issue is that before, you could watch each franchise and sorta not have to watch ALL of the others. From what I've heard, in order to fully get the new Dr. Strange you have to check out the entire Wandavision, the previous Spider-Man, Loki, the Eternals (I think), and like 20 other things before being able to appreciate the most recent release. And it's like, "guys.. this is one of the main reasons comic sales began dropping, when you make a casual fan have to fucking do research to watch a dumb two hour movie, they're not likely going to do it." Or at least I'm not. When you have a family and work 10-12+ hours a day, that's less time dedicated to TV/movies.

A lot of the dialog in this movie is so full of depth and personality; I don't think it gets enough credit. It's honestly better than a lot of the current MCU stuff. The biggest criticism is how "unepic" it feels compared to the comic story-line. I have the same issue with Secret Invasion; the story-line in the comics is an Avengers level threat, not a Nick Fury side quest.
I really love how they actually didn't have Ultron explain his evil plot. They even said explicitly that they wouldn't. How many of us haven't complained that literally every villain ever just goes on a monologue about the evil plot, and this just gives the protagonists several minutes to calmly work. It's so annoying. It's better this way, Ultron is a very complex villain.
He's not really all that complex; he's just not an idiot. The line, "I'm glad you asked that because I'd like to take this time to explain my evil plan," was Whedon (through Ultron) making fun of all the movie villains who have done exactly that.
As a writer, the problem is if you do not find a means to inform the reader/watcher of what the plan is, you leave them in the dark until events happen. The plot device exists as a means of exposition to the reader/viewer, which is required by some means. While in universe it makes little sense, it's a failing of the medium rather than weak writing. (at least most of the time.)

I love how Ultron tells Tony that he might want to catch up to Bruce, It's like your in your room and you tell your brother or sister to not take that one step, but they smirk and take that step into your room, it makes you so angry. It's like that Tony is in his room and Ultron took that step and crossed that line by a centimeter.
Also, Thor has great reflexes. He did sense that Pietro was in that direction, and threw Mjolnir that way. Also, the Thor in comics could easily track Pietro while he moves. Thor was extremely OP in the comics.

I call this one the "popcorn movie" of all the Avengers films. It's a fun little, mindless romp. Sure it sets up major plotlines for the rest of the Infinity arc, but for the most part, it's the "calmest" of the four movies.
You can tell Ultron was made by Tony just from the way he speaks. How hes able to crack jokes and constantly make fun of the avengers despite his goal being the extinction of humanity

You're right in many things you just said but I don't think Captain America secretly desires war because of the devastation, death and suffering that comes from it to the innocents, but he does know that all he is is a soldier and a fighter. In a peaceful world there would be no place for him and that truth makes him uncomfortable because he never really learned how to live or do other things, to fight for others is all he knows.
You're right though in that Ultron made them all doubt their own characters and to look in the mirror for once, and that aspect of Ultron is so underrated, not even Thanos managed to get in their heads like that

It wasn't that he found Thor to be boring when he was making those movies. He ALWAYS enjoyed the role. He was just getting tired of playing the same role the same way. He did consider retiring the role after his contract was up, but decided against doing so. He credited Thor: Ragnarok with revitalizing his interest in playing Thor, as he was allowed to take some risks and experiment more, which he continued to try to do in Infinity War and Endgame. Now he's open to extending his contract and continuing to play the role.

I miss this MCU. Don’t get me wrong, the new MCU is really promising with things like the multiverse and cosmic stuff but I miss it when it wasn’t all complicated. We literally thought that the biggest threat was Loki and Hydra at that time lol

My issue is that before, you could watch each franchise and sorta not have to watch ALL of the others. From what I've heard, in order to fully get the new Dr. Strange you have to check out the entire Wandavision, the previous Spider-Man, Loki, the Eternals (I think), and like 20 other things before being able to appreciate the most recent release.
And it's like, "guys.. this is one of the main reasons comic sales began dropping, when you make a casual fan have to fucking do research to watch a dumb two hour movie, they're not likely going to do it." Or at least I'm not. When you have a family and work 10-12+ hours a day, that's less time dedicated to TV/movies.

I can’t help but notice how this line has depth
A lot of the dialog in this movie is so full of depth and personality; I don't think it gets enough credit.
It's honestly better than a lot of the current MCU stuff. The biggest criticism is how "unepic" it feels compared to the comic story-line. I have the same issue with Secret Invasion; the story-line in the comics is an Avengers level threat, not a Nick Fury side quest.
I really love how they actually didn't have Ultron explain his evil plot. They even said explicitly that they wouldn't. How many of us haven't complained that literally every villain ever just goes on a monologue about the evil plot, and this just gives the protagonists several minutes to calmly work. It's so annoying. It's better this way, Ultron is a very complex villain.
He's not really all that complex; he's just not an idiot. The line, "I'm glad you asked that because I'd like to take this time to explain my evil plan," was Whedon (through Ultron) making fun of all the movie villains who have done exactly that.
As a writer, the problem is if you do not find a means to inform the reader/watcher of what the plan is, you leave them in the dark until events happen. The plot device exists as a means of exposition to the reader/viewer, which is required by some means. While in universe it makes little sense, it's a failing of the medium rather than weak writing. (at least most of the time.)
Loki didn't get to monologue. Hulk isn't into monologues. If you need to give the heroes time to work, I suggest a dance off.
