No wonder so many people said she’s drunk during her videos. She always gives me second hand embarrassment but these Christmas videos are something else.
LOL, those feather Christmas trees were popular in the 1800’s and the mass produced trees from the 30’s had branches made with brush bristles, not just toilet brushes. Thank you so much for this fun series!
Hi, I'm from Riga, Latvia, and there is a landmark in one of the Old town squares where the first decorated tree was set in 1510. Don't know, don't really care tho if it's true :p
I bet whoever had to clean up those ribbons was *pissed*! She's so short-sighted and spoiled that she thought she was 'spreading joy' w/ that, or just doesn't even think to care about who had to clean that up, later. Also, Tiny Blue, I get your intro song stuck in my head, and can't tell you how many times I've sung that song to myself in my apt while making food, etc.🎄
Pine tea isn't that expensive......maybe if you go to a tourist trap type place in Oslo? IDK I never liked it, but I never seen it sold for so much EDIT: SHE DIDNT CONVERT IT. 150nrk is about $13 usd
@@charleena.callais5447 yeah for basic tea that sounds about right. Good specialty tea blends run for more but per cup?? Maybe if she is getting scammed in Troms LOL
These were so fun, thank you. My family decorated sugar cookies and gingerbread men and put them on the tree. I've ads been watching and enjoying Lindsay
I can guarantee that Anna found a single website with Christmas facts on it, and just regurgitated every last one in these videos. ETA: you ARE “extra”. And that’s why we love you.
Totally, it’s like she’s actually toned it way down over the years because I know it’s sped up, but she’s acting so hyper and constantly moving around and now she usually just stands in one spot and talks
From Google “In the 1930s, the Addis Brush Company created the first artificial Christmas tree made from brush bristles. The company used the same machinery it used to make toilet brushes, but dyed them green.” She forgot to put all of it.
History of Christmas ornaments, I have found nothing in a few years of searching about cakes, gingerbread, or any of the other wild claims she makes for the "sweet treats" people put on their tree. What I DO see is the original ornaments were apples, and this progressed to special shaped pastries, with the sources I've found suggesting they were probably either hard gingerbread or salt-dough, though finding evidince before the glass oranements start showing in the 18th century has been a little tricky, since there's not really anything labled "Christmas ornament recipe. However, it seems like they were often stars with the occasional hearts or flowers referenced (though those might be actual flowers.) By the 19th century you start seeing a lot of dried fruits being put on the tree, probably things you wouldn't want to eat because when you bake them they tend to get pretty tough, but what do I know. Gingerbread seems to come in at this time, again, hard gingerbread, not what we know as gingerbread. It seems to be the Victorians from my research (though I haven't done a deep dive here) that did popcorn, and seeing as corn wasn't even a thing in Europe until colonization of America, just throwing out there that seems unlikely to predate glass baubles. And cranberries seems to possibly be Victorian too? So, basically she may be right, but a lot of the stuff she's referencing seems to come after the glass baubles were first created for decoration on Christmas trees. It's something I saw make the rounds every year for a while, so I've been kind of into the deep dive of debunking the Christmas ornaments myth for a long time.
all the yikes and all the nope to that- abso-frackin-lutely not! lmao guess that idea just solidified that i'll will definitely be sticking with synthetic trees for sure. 🤣🙏
Really surprised she hasn’t been doing holiday clothing hauls. Aren’t those the mainstay of her channel? Just keeps featuring those damn sweaters of hers.
🎄I know you have her sped up, but all that gesticulating suggests to me that she was at least a little tipsy. Who does that while shooting a video? I’m starting to give credence to the rumours of her being an alcoholic (in the past, at least). She doesn’t seem like that now, but she’s more manic. I wonder if she quit drinking and started a Starbucks addiction instead. So now she’s hopped up on caffeine, and still drinking those calories. But, yay! You finally got through the series. I’m so happy for you 😂
The Christmas tree farm down the road from me calls them Weinachtsbaum, not Tannenbaum. Tannenbaum can be just a plain fir tree as well as a Christmas tree. So I give her half a point. Balancing it out I'd give her half a point for the world being weird (though not for the goose feathers). Been reading reddit stories and the world is definitely weird!
Oh yes, and we used to put real candles on our Christmas tree (branches). But they were only briefly lit and we watched like hawks. No fires, fortunately!
She posted a story of her apparently genuinely running, like fast (ish) and it said something like “What you see on the internet” and then the next clip was her standing there using an inhaler she apparently has now and it said “What’s actually happening behind the scenes” I’ve been following her for probably 6 years now, and I’m 99% sure I’ve never once seen her use or even mention an inhaler before
@@lavendersunshine9648 ooh, thanks for that! I only follow her through reactions, but I was particularly interested in her running arc and I don't remember inhalers either. As an asthmatic runner myself, I'm intrigued...
Teddy Roosevelt did ban trees from the white house but the cooler bit is his kids hid a tree in the Whitehouse to show him. But at the time putting a tree up wasn't the default for all households it was more often done if you had kids. This comes from the forest history society of America. They have first party sources talking about the details and history
🎄we have a real one but it comes from a family owned business that just plants Christmas trees. As for the bug fact l don’t know about that because we have never had a problem with that because they shake it to death before the wrap it so 🤷🏻♀️. They honestly aren’t as big of a hassle in our experience but that could be because of where we live (not the city).
Can you please post those shorts you were talking about? Please? The Grand Central Station and photobomb videos/shorts... I can't find them. If it's not to much trouble. Thank you, sweet lady!
Grand Central station was out of her walking 2 mi to get a bagel video and the one where she's photobombing someone else's TikTok cuz on their page. I don't have either of those downloaded or anything.
Pine gum is great to chew; it gets rid of cigarette smell from your breath. I know, I learned that trick when I was 10 and sneaking cigafettes from my Mom when we visited my Grandmother in Nova Scotia. 😂 🎄
I feel like her source is probably some long forgotten listicle or tumblr post which is a very 2016-esque source of info. I also wonder what the wikipedia pages youre using looked like in 2016 ie less info or more unconfirmed info. Not excusing Anna's lack of research, but the results that pop up now in google have changed since 2016. And will probably continue to change due to ai (insert side rant about that).
I’m not great at color coordination but the red shoes being a shade off from the red of the sweater is really bugging me. The “sexy” dancing and singing is so cringe.
I don't like cut flowers or cut trees because I'm an avid gardener and I like living plants and it seems... cruel (don't know what the word would be) to kill a plant for a fleeting pleasure of people. A few years ago I crocheted a 1.5 foot tree and decorated it with mini ordaments and you can stuff and unstuff it and it's awesome. I've schlepped it all the way from the US to my country but have not put it up yet for any Yule. Always sad about it but mental health and circumstances worked against doing it. My point in all of this is - neh on living trees cut down for a few weeks' enjoyment.
Well her “ facts “ are at least getting better, closer to actual facts?. If nothing else she is entertaining?. She could have so easily done actual research and made herself look more intelligent with her information. 🎄
Anna's fun facts tend to come off like she received them in a newsletter.
When she and John part ways, I hope he does a tell-all!
I’m looking forward to that book 😂

They used ostrich mixed with chicken feathers primarily
Martin Luther may have had 99 problems, but a lack of Christmas spirit wasn’t one of them.

It astounds me how much weight she has gained!
You are right Tiny Blue. First recorded tree was Riga, Latvia in 1510. This is fun.

The crisp R's she's doing is driving me crazy. Idk how else to describe it but you can't un-hear it.
Festive vandalism 😂
🎄🎄🎄, those jeans she’s wearing are soooooooooooo tight…..
Anyway, good series! I learnt all sorts of stuff, if not all the things Anna tried to teach us...
