    The World About Us was a BBC Two television documentary series on natural history which ran from 1967 to 1987. The show was created by David Attenborough.
    The series marked the evolution of natural-history broadcasting "to the point at which constantly improving photographic techniques, allied to a seemingly inexhaustible supply of subject matter," make recurring series possible

    Thank you for this. One of BBC2's best series of old, and this is one of its best editions too. The World About Us was great tv and really I wish it were still on today! But at least we have these uploads instead, so all is not lost. Well done too!

    Many thanks for posting, this was an enjoyable watch. With TV shows of the same era eg The Good Life, The Changes & especially Survivors, its interesting to see how real, ordinary people were able to deal with going back to basics. They were quite stoic & just seemed to get on with it.

    Excellent program as was the whole series if I remember right. The theme music is very evocative, takes me right back. Documentary making has changed over the years, for the worse I think, don't think I'm alone in thinking that. Thanks very much for uploading. I wonder how many more of these programs have survived?
