Do you bring any form of protection in case of bear/fisher encounters? I'm from the kingston/ottawa area of Ontario and very new to rockhounding with my fiance. Bear sightings are fairly regular around here so I am curious to know how rockhounders prepare for such things.
You are the first person who I have encountered who is worried about fisher. They can be nasty, but will run away unless cornered. If you have a little dog, might be a different story.
