    In this video I will show you my step by step instructions on how I texlax my hair. Also want to mention I do the back of my hair first just in case it gets a little more process than I wanted. That way it will be in the back area and not the front. Also note soon as I finish putting the texlax on the last piece of hair I started to wash it out. So it was only in until I finished with the last piece then I took it right out. Always use a neutralizing shampoo right after use it maybe two or three times. After that you may use any kind of damage control products you use on your hair to protect your hair from damage. Also make sure you condition your hair for 1 hour or more so that all the moisture can get back into your hair.
    What is a texlax?
    The Definition of Texlax.
    “Texlaxed” hair refers to hair that is is intentionally under-processed with the same chemicals as relaxers. The final look is more textured than relaxed hair, but straighter than natural, chemical-free hair.

    ( I see that my comment "Good quality hair" has ruffled some feathers.
    Good quality hair is not Cacasian hair. Good quality hair is not mixed hair. Good quality hair is not Indian hair and so on and so forth. Every hair texture and types has good and damaged or hard to maintain textures. So when I stated "GOOD QUALITY HAIR" I didnt mean you couldnt have 4c or any other grade hair for it to be good. What I did mean was hair that was more manageable with no hard tangles. You may or may not agree with my def of what I feel is a more manageable texture. That was just my opinion and everyone is entitled to one. )

    I know this is going to sound so silly but I have to thank you for this vid. Not sure how I found your vid but it was what I needed. I have been natural for 20 years or more. I am the caretaker for my mother; she has colon cancer and Alzheimer's. and I need to manage a ton of things and my hair should NOT be one of them. I purchased the texturizer kit many months ago and almost every weekend I found myself watching your vid with kit in hand. Well, last night I DID IT. I followed your method and oh my goodness, the texture I have ! I cried at the ease of just running my fingers through my hair. Combing, twisting didn't take an hour only took 15 mins. So thank you for making this vid and for making at least my hair more manageable (for me) God bless you .

      Thank you Toni. I have cut out all processed foods. Everything that goes in her mouth I make. We have coffee each morning. I was going to cut that out but he loves coffee and I am not going to take that from her. We love greens and I fix some sort of "green" food item for her each day. This is the hardest thing I have had to do. Thank you so much for your comment. I do appreciate it. Best, Mitzi

    I have no problem with people relaxing their hair, I actually want to texlax my hair myself but when you use words like “nappy” or “good quality hair” that’s when you go from just trying something new to being self hating.

  • @Ahdree23

    I have been natural for 9 yrs and I am over it really. Top notch hair care, deep conditions + protein treatments + protective styling no longer than 2 mos......and each time I do a flat iron (1-2x a year) my hair is toe up from the flo up. I moisturize religiously, been through about 50 different moisturizers, both natural/organic and regular products. So no I am tired of it and really considering doing this.

    • @bluebird1694
      @bluebird1694 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @IcandyLuV12
      @IcandyLuV12 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe you should try not to use protein treatments because not all hair responds well to it. It makes my hair feel very hard. My hair is very strong and healthy and long. I do minimal to it. I just wash n deep condition with good products every 2-3 weeks and I wear my hair straightened on a lower heat with heat protectant and wrap it or wear protective styles. I’m not even that great of a natural by TH-cam standards but my hair doesn’t break off at all, my ends are very healthy, it’s always growing, and I am very gentle with my hair.

      +mspinkytee no it is not an option that's why I said you need a neutralizing shampoo you can also use a regular shampoo afterwords is what I was saying. I also wrote all the information in the description box. You're the second person that said that so I guess that part is confusing I'll leave an annotation there just in case

    I'm not a natural "natzi" but you didmt have to say "good quality hair", you basically putting down other women with your natural hair type. That was unneeded, unnecessary. Just say "you dont like your hair or can't handle it" not "now I have natural looking hair/good quality" when your real hair is also considered "looking natural" -.-

    • @JenJenTracey
      @JenJenTracey 7 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      Exactly and on top of that, all hair that is healthy, soft, resistant to breakage/strong, and has great luster is called good quality hair. The natural texture itself has very little to do with it. You have people who have straight or wavy hair who have bad quality hair because of over styling with heat, & over processing due to chemical bleaching. I wish black women would drop that negative mentality of 4b/4c hair being bad quality hair/nappy hair because it is coarse. If it is so coarse, & tangly, then that is due to how THEY take care of it, not because of the hair itself. Matter of fact, I've had thick, long hair the majority of my life, whether it was relaxed or natural, and I've found my hair to be softer in it's natural state than it was relaxed. I've seen women who have 4b/4c hair that is beautiful, soft, easy to manage, great shine, etc because they know how to take care of and style it accordingly. It's the ignorance of not knowing, but once you do know, it's a game changer.

      @whyyoureadinmyname5145 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Meme Thaxter not me. But I plan to hydrogen peroxide to dye my hair which is natural, relaxers cause fibroids. It's not the chemicals for me but the type of chemical. If the chemical makes u sick u shouldn't use it. Which is why I wont be using bleach because it causes cancer.

    • @ladylove3270
      @ladylove3270 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      exactly technically nobody is natural.. because its some type of chemical in your hair.. not all relaxers are harsh chemicals. this relaxer is very light

    • @r.e.m1074
      @r.e.m1074 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      But dying your natural hair a certain color won't change your curl pattern, putting in a relaxer will, so your comparison isn't valid. And that's people OPINION, if they don't agree and they think it's wrong they have every right to say so.

    this is my question a lot of people can get their hair 2 lay with out texturizing it, but it don't stay
    so texturing makes it consistent so u can wear different styles other than a bush. what's wrong with that? it don't mean u hate your hair you just want it to STAY put and stop stribbling and striking. she really didn't change her texture just tamed it. this is still natural imo

      Dont do it girl. I'm texlaxed now. yeah my hair is really long and big but its almost impossible to keep your hair a consistent texture (breakage).

      But of course, experience is the best teacher. I did enjoy my hair for 4 years, while texlaxing my hair. Now i would rather just have long natural hair, seeing that the different textures gets annoying. insta@LaNaturalLaura

    I tried texlaxed and messed up my hair...i think.So I have been transitioning for almost a year but I wanted to try a texlax. Now my roots are natural but then some of my hair is straight from the relaxer, then some of my hair is natural then the rest in relax. I made a big mistake and now my hair has a weird pattern. What should I do to fix it, just leave it and continue to transition??? Please help!!???

    Made me a bit sad 😔You already addresses the good quality hair statement but also: it’s not about anyone “knowing” or not knowing if you did a relaxer or not. It’s about you-how you feel about your own hair and your health. It’s amazing to me how many women don’t know about the correlation between black “hair care” products and fibroids. There is a reason other cultures don’t have fibroids at the rate of Black women. I have 2a/2b hair so I’ve never been faced with with decision to do a relaxer but my children have 3c/4a hair. I just had to figure it out. I think when you weigh the pros and cons of a relaxer and when you know the truth (the cons go beyond increased hair breakage), using such a product is not an option. These are toxic chemicals. There are consequences.

    As much as some black women have downed other black women for NOT going natural and having a relaxer it just amazes me that this is even an option for some. I have been relaxed since I was 15 and am not 31. Never got caught up in the natural hyper or let anyone influence me to go natural. It was NOT the best option for me and I was not going to do sometimes just because everyone was doing it. This texlaxing mess is pissing me off because of all the criticism relaxed sisters have gotten. Either you natural or you not. Cant have your cake and eat it too.

      +Granny 85 yes u can have your cake and it eat too. what are your going to do just stare at the cake? that's like saying women of all races can't color their hair, wear wigs, weaves, braid it up, etc....It's just hair. You can do ANYTHING YOU WANT WITH IT. God is not concern about your hair, he is concerned about your heart. And I'm glad you never listened to anyone regarding your relaxed hair. I always encouraged relaxed hair women to keep it relaxed because if it's not thin or falling out, then you're good...so Kudos to you for having your own brain and not falling for the natural hair movement. I AM A NATURAL but support ALL WOMEN's Decision regarding their hair. I have seen some healthy looking relaxed hair...so go figure..
