    Has anyone else been procrastinating on washing their hair and thinking of just getting a texturizer or straight up relaxing it?
    I'm sitting here with an itchy scalp. 😭

    I too lost the natural battle but feel as if I won the war with my hair after I texlaxed last night!!! my hair just felt healthier and easier to manage. I have been natural since 2010 but due to my stylist putting too much heat in my hair I had severe heat damage on my ends and they looked relaxed. I watched like a million videos the week prior (not literally) and received so many tips. I used Silk Elements lye regular w/ Shea and I mixed ORS conditioner and olive oil in my relaxer. I put olive oil and conditioner on my straight ends and sectioned each section in thirds twisting the hair I didn't want relaxed so I knew where to stop the relaxer on my hair shaft. I based the hell outta my scalp with motions relaxer base and put vaseline all over my face neck and back!!! Lol I didn't want to take any chances!!! I relaxed the back first and washed it out in 10 min. I was scared to reconstruct before neutralizing so I washed with the neutralizer twice 1st then applied the Apoghee 2 min reconstructor, rinsed, neutralized again until suds were white, then added more reconstructor and let it sit while I relaxed the front. I did the same thing to the front and let the 2 min sit for 5 mins before rinsing it all out. The textured pattern came out perfect!!!!! I mixed the silk elements conditioner mayonnaise and shea moisture deep condition mask and put all this in my hair and twisted 3 sections and left in overnight under condition cap. during the entire process I did not comb or brush my hair while wet to keep from pulling it in its newly texlaxed state. in the morning I will rinse out and use Herbal Essence Hello Hydration to detangle and comb under running water. I know this is lengthy but I wanted to share some ideas used that make this process so easy being my 1st time. Thank you for your inspiring and extremely helpful video!!!!!

      @wayawuffin 5 ปีที่แล้ว +45

      well, it wouldn't be natural anymore, but i think that's fine! i think the issue comes in when people start shaming other people about THEIR decision they made with THEIR own hair. like, the texlax definitely is not affecting you in anyway sis, i promise 💀 its not contagious, and you don't have to get one if you don't wanna

      We dont know what natural is. It really is something untouched. So all of the so called naturals, who put so much of this and that (to condition, manage, tame, beautify or whatever we want to call it) in their hair; that is not natural. Why cant we just say stuff like permless or not relaxed so people can just realize that it is a choice or preference, not some immoral code to being a black person with hair. And I am without a perm or relaxer. But I realize either way that we all do toil over outter beauty to some degree and it's not always wrong.

I resisted the temptation then and just decided to try to get along with my hair. I'm now pregnant with triplets (after TTC for over 6 years! ) and was thinking of chopping off the whole hair then I remembered you! I'll go for the texlaxing first and see how it works out cos I ain't got time to be spending on natural hair anymore even though years ago when I went natural, i literally swore off chemicals for my hair.

    Phew, this had me so nervous. Usually when I see texlax videos the hair just looks stringy heat damaged hair, but your curls came out so cute! Honestly looking at your hair before the texlax, your curls are still loose enough that you probably didn't need to go to these extremes. A good deep condition, or the max hydration method would have made your hair more manageable to me. But either, this look is very cute!

    I feel like IF I texturized my hair I’d use your technique! I like your application- not a lot of the relaxer used. Seems like it allows for better control. I’ve been “natural” nearly 30 years, my life has changed so much that I would like to loosen my curls for ease of manageability & maintenance! I’m hesitant to texturize my waist length hair, myself and & have “trust issues” regarding if a stylist would be able to texturize my hair to the desired texture.

    BEWARE of this method - unless you intend to continue chemically relaxing your hair, this method may result in an unintended "big chop"! I did this at the beginning of the summer and loved the results. However, 4-5 months later, my hair refused to return to "natural" evenly, became stringy on the ends and kept tangling and breaking, so I had to cut off inches.

    So I’m black I’m a 4c guy I live in cold ass Alaska and I feel like as a man I can do whatever I want with my hair and no one comes at me crazy I think black women get attacked more about their hair(by each other) but my texture got thicker in my 20s and it’s been natural for the last 6 years and it breaks more natural than when I relaxed it especially when it got long and when I’m relaxed I still rock the same Afro ponytail it’s just easier and needs less product.

    my hair isn’t even curly but i still use this because i am not good doing my own hair. so all y’all who say she’s shouldn’t do this to her hair, it’s not your hair she can do whatever she wants because it’s growing out of her head.

    The natural hair community also talks down on colored hair. I’ve bleached my hair and dyed it about five times over three years, now my hair is the same texture as texlaxed. Way more manageable.

    So are you supposed to blow dry your hair first ? Or can you just texturize it on natural dry hair ? Because I think it makes a huge difference for the curl pattern

  • @FallnAngel07
    @FallnAngel07 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I don't understand why people think it takes forever to do hair. My wash and go's take an hour and a half, that includes drying (air dry) and diffusing. My twist outs are take longer because I have to wait all night for it to dry, but once it's dry boom. I just hate to see women texturize their hair because it's just a perm that isn't as strong. 😫😫😫 But it's your hair, if a professional says your hair is healthy after you do this that's great.

      DRW 45 texlaxing is just like applying a relaxer but you rinse it and wash it out earlier so the curl pattern relaxes or stretches but does not become straight.

      That is FALSE information. That's why so many are complaining afterwards about it getting damaged or too straight. You do NOT apply it 'just like' a relaxer. Meaning u do NOT SMOOTH it. If u do yr hair will get straight as u are 'smoothing' out n 'relaxing' the curls/coils ( whichever u have). Sm1 said do not comb it. Thats also FALSE. U ARE TO slowly comb thru with a wide tooth comb to loosen the coil THEN wash out n proceed to the next steps. 💚🌻God Bless
