Respect to you for structuring your learning ambitions in a sensible order. I can say from personal experience that playing this song becomes so much more difficult after you die. 🙂
That is great. I thought it would take me at least 2 years of practice before I can learn this piece. But I am sure I can manage this version right now. Super cool.
I've played this iconic song sooo many times, I could play it with my eyes closed. It is very beautiful tho, and I do a lot of different things with it as well.

I'm currently using your tutorial to learn Music Box Dancer, but want to learn this one as well. My back story: the only formal instruction I've ever had was one semester in high school (age 16). Prior to that, I was completely self-taught. I started playing again after my last birthday, my 51st birthday
We used to play this in orchestra all the time when I was younger. I played the violin and this was always my favorite piece of ours. I also loved playing "Shenandoah" too. Both such beautiful pieces.

I married twice. At the first wedding I had “here cones the bride” and purely by luck the county’s most famous concert pianist, known throughout the world, was playing in the church, something he did at times for free. Now the family of my husband was very much posh, everything should cost a fortune and you should show all your bling to the entire world. Me and my husband was very very young and also extremely poor students, but I never forgot their faces after the ceremony when we stood outside the church and this famous pianist came out, congratulated us and walked away. Their jaws just dropped because they thought we had hired him. Of course we did not deny it. 😂 Twenty years later I married my second husband as the first turned out to be an abusive bag of turd. We had Canon in D on organ and trumpet and it was magnificent! The way it filled that small ancient stone church from 1700 was magic! It was also the start of the wedding of the century (according to all the guess) and a good relationship and marriage. There are many ways to enter the church and I find it beautiful that many choose different things. It is the privilege you have as a couple to choose the first setting around your union. Should she enter quietly like the summer wind, with a pop song dancing, or choose something very regal? It is the moment you always will remember, it is when years of planning, excitement and nervousness come together and you walk towards your life partner to make a life long commitment. So choose wisely. 😊
Can you play Gengar in D? 😆 Thanks for the video, I've been working on this piece all summer. I'm a newbie, so this is an extremely helpful addition to the video you all released earlier with the overview of Canon in D!
WOWWWW... it was definitely well worth the wait! This is by far my favorite piece. I fell in love with it when I was playing violin, now, to play it finally, fully on piano I am in 7th Heaven! 😍❤️🤩
Thanks so much! You take so much pain off from reading the sheet to practice this versatile masterpiece! This will my warming up piece for a while! 🥰 Ps: would love to see a tutorial that include the part 2 Gigue 😁
ive jus printed: on to my next piece to learn from Pianote the first was interstellar. The tutor makes it not intimidating to learn. thank you pianote!
finally after a month i skipped learning then i got it in a day. thanks for a tutorial.. i just learned piano 2 months ago, and i’m interesting to learn intermediate one.
Great lesson! I was wondering about the fingering for the left hand but was able to see how you did it from your video. Looks like 1-2-1-3-2-5-3-2? Thanks, for posting this lesson.
Awesome, love this simplified version, thanks. Bars 13 to 20 are my favourite part. I am also learning the (much more difficult) Lee Galloway arrangement but bizarrely these bars aren't included in his arrangement and the bit before the "famous bit" is a little different. I have an orchestral recording and these 8 bars are included, so it's nothing to do with this being a simplified version. Can anybody tell me why the Lee Galloway version is different in this regard? I find it puzzling and am perplexed by the difference... and wish the bars were included!
Download the sheet music for free and learn a little more about this piece's history >> www.pianote.com/blog/canon-in-d-piano-sheet-music-tutorial/
thanks, shame the sheet music requires a password to print if you download it..., but it does print if you print directly.
