My Widow Journey After Losing Everything

- I've been struggling with getting this story told... So sorry for my long absence. On March 27th 2023 I lost everything. My husband was killed in a car accident. Here is my journey over the following 2 months and my plans for our Alaskan Homestead.
I feel your pain. I lost my wife of 30 years 6 months ago. I have many of the same feelings you are expressing. Praying for you and your journey.
You're bringing me back. When I was 22 my husband died. He was 23. I cried and cried. It made me sick to hear people laughing or see the sun shine. My world was gray and black. It took many years. Our daughter was 18 mo. old when he died. You have no choice but to keep going. It hurts though. Love to you. He would want you to be happy. ❤❤❤

I lost my Mr Wonderful to cancer in October 2019. Then the pandemic hit and I lost any chance of keeping our home so I sold it and moved into a van. I looked for a place to land and after 3 years finally bought 117 acres in Virginia. I’m still technically homeless until I can get a septic system in and be able to use the address, but like you said, one step at a time. But I have a place to park and start over. I’m working out of state right now but I can’t wait to get back to my new “home “. The grief of being so alone in the world is crushing sometimes, especially in a crisis. I’m working as a home health aide taking care of a patient who is dying.I would love to find love again but it’s not likely. I subscribed.
I feel your pain... My wife of 18 years suffering from mental illness walked out on my ten year old son and myself and have no idea where she is or what she is doing... Our plan is to move to Alaska in a few months to start a new life... We look at it as if she passed because the person we knew is gone forever... It's really hard to watch my son go through it...

As a man who has endured a similar experience, I have to say that you're doing the right thing. You are well ahead of me on your journey, but my sons and I will make it in due time. Be sure to keep your focus on your unlimited future, rather than on your loss. I know that's a tender subject, and a very personal one, as everyone is different. One thing that I learned very early on is that though I lost her, she lost more than anyone. It is a way of shifting your perspective in a positive way. I know this video is older, and you seem to be doing much better now, I hope that continues and I'll be following along as we become "neighbors". Best wishes for a bright future. -Dusty
My heart goes out to you. I lost my girlfriend of 20 years 2 1\2 years ago. I am still struggling to this day. I have isolated myself from everyone and having trouble keeping a job. Enough about me, keep your faith keep moving towards your dreams. Good luck.!!!

Hi, I just came across your channel and saw this video. I am so sorry for your loss, I know how it feels to lose someone close to you. My loss was Dec. 4th 1968, I lost my two best friends and shipmates when we came under fire in Vietnam. I admire your tenacity to still hold on to your dream. I’m so sorry you lost your best friends. Vietnam was so horrible and all of you who served deserved so much better than what you got.
My guy died of cancer 6.5 years ago. You hit it on the head when you said you lose your past, present and future. All dreams go. I am now 73 but we had dreams, a wooden cabin in a rainforest...plent of land with it. We had decided to go up there for a substantial length of time to do what we needed, just like you. He went on his 'last' trip - he worked anti-narcotics in South America. He never came back as he was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and did not want me to see him in his depleted state. He was so strobg, physically and mentally, I never thought he would die. His letters stopped - I was officially informed - time stopped still and has not really moved on. Yes. We are fine to the world - I do what has to be done but my house has been flooded, I sorted that but it has not been cleaned in over 2 years. I plan what I really must do tomorrow but it is hard to get up so maybe I do 1 or 2 hours, so am more or less standing still.....
Give your life to Jesus and He can take your burden away. This life is but a vapor. We’re never promised another day yet we can be promised eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ

So today I started binge watching your channel until I got to this video and realizing your best friend passed away my prayers go to you. I know it’s been a year . There’s a lot of people that will be watching your videos to help in supporting your journey. Thank you for sharing.
I feel your pain. I lost the love of my life. She died in 2007. She was everything to me and It changed me. I was single for 11 years after that. I had no interest in anyone else. No dating, no causal anything; I just didn't want it. Then I put myself out there in 2018 and met someone that made me feel again. On 03 December 2022 I lost her too. I do not have it in me for a third round you know. I am trapped in the state of Kansas in an old house I own here. I am just all over the place - my mind racing all the time. I bought 5 acres in Alaska, but I do not know what to do with it now. I think one day soon I am just going to pack up my car, lock my house here and drive there and then just figure it out once I am there.
Baby steps though. I just got to a point where I can manage but there are still days I just break down and fall apart. I absolutely empathize with you and your story made me cry...I hope you get to find happiness again.
Hi, I have had one experience like that, I simply cannot imagine two. I completely understand the "no interest" part you mentioned. We had talked about Alaska, but had nothing set in place, then, without warning, everything changed. Since then I decided that nothing was going to hold me back any longer. I was turning circumstance into opportunity. My sons and I have not made it yet. Right now I'm halfway packed but stuck in a similar way as you mentioned. I'm sorry to tell you this I lost my parents in 1989 (Mother) and 2008 ( Father) and I still haven't got over it
My husband passed away when i was 33, our child 5. I died that day too. All we did, all our dreams, projects, future vacations - all was gone in one moment. I still think that my future died that night. I live for my daughter, i never lived myself from then on. Its 11 years of not living. I am dead. And unfortunately i know i would not be normal again. My body lives
So very sorry for your loss. In Feb 12, 2022 my wife of 40 years passed away after recovering from a double lung transplant at Stanford hospital here in California. She was on 4 life support machines keeping her alive when on the 12th of Febuary I had the machines turned off. I hugged her and kissed her goodby till her heart stopped. So I know what your going through. Your in my prayers.
The hardest part about losing your life partner is the slow burn inside. You grieve with each new loss: the loss of their smell from their pillow on the bed, letting go of having their toothbrush next to the sink, their shoes on the porch, the mug in the cupboard. The small things that become so huge!
You CAN do this!!!! You are resillient...you WILL get through this...I promise you ❤ I cried for 5yrs solid when my husband died suddenly when I was 47 and just had my 3rd chemotherapy for breast cancer...Im now 67. I miss him still..but Im OK..you will be too. You are amazing ❤❤❤
I lost my bf 12 years ago and have since found and married my solemate. The initial shock and pain does gradually become a little less over time. I am so sorry for your loss. I also had zero support from my family so finding a therapist really helped. I really hope you have some support. Best of luck to you ❤️
Oh sweetie, I don’t know you…I don’t know why this video showed up for me today; however, I’ve grieved for many years and I know that “grief is love with no place to go”. Yet, with time it will shift from every second of the day, to minutes, to hours and after a while days…it’ll always hurt, my dear, but you will start to look for a laugh and not feel guilty because you haven’t cried. Bless your heart! Life is going to insert itself in between those moments of grief and feeling low. And slowly but surely it will create the much needed distance to this life altering moment. I truly wish you all the strength and luck in this world and hope that you will find comfort and happiness in Alaska! Stay strong…yes, you have a lot of life left to live and from someone who had to bounce back many times “there are a thousand reasons to live this life and every one of them is sufficient”. I'm so sorry! 2 of my friends are having a very hard time becoming widows so I referred them to this channel that shows your strength to move on. Ty.
There are some fb groups that really helped as well because it truly is a one man journey. Look at those groups and see if they are applicable to them. Some are dating groups, some are for older folks or younger. I was in love still lives I think. It might still be around, but that was 8 years ago and it may have changed since then. Sounds like you can do it. I've been up here 32-years year-round. Not off grid, but first years in a dry cabin.
My wife passed back in '17 and my very sincere condolences to you.

Excuse my language, but holy shit this video broke my heart. I’m 13 years older than my wife and we dream of relocating to Alaska. We are actually planning to make to move in the next couple years. I often think about her life if I am to pass before we can make our dream come true. Our hearts go out to you and we both look forwards to following your adventure. Been there. I know. It took me 5 yrs. to want to live again. Slowly you crawel out of the darkness. I got into another love of my life, nurse aide. Love of my life i never new about. It helps to get out and help others hurting. You will find life again , just takes alot of work grieving. Hardest thing i ever did.

If God have given me 2 option to choose from.
Option 1 is God himself will grant me anything I want in the world.
Option 2 He will return my wife back to me.
I will say to God without any hesitation that i will take Option 2.

They look down and hope that we are able to find that in our lives
That pain and loss will never go away, we have to learn to live with it

Sometimes it's just a matter of perspective, and trying to make sense of it by thinking about it in spiritual terms...
What brought you to this point is not just the dream that you both shared - like you said, "it was my dream before we even met..."
So don't think for one minute that he'd want you to stay where are and become immobile...taking that "giant leap" is what will help you to heal...and become confident in yourself...again
