Interesting system but the only down side of it makes it quite redundant as a safety device.
The light is also a pretty bad design flaw as much easier to notice even with OBDII port out of sight.
One would get alerted the car is being started and few seconds later tracking would likely stop :)
You do have a good point there with the light as for a delivery business I can see it working well to keep an eye on your vehicles, these devices seem to be really popular here in the UK

@@jamesr50 Yeah defo got some use in tracking professional stuff or even you're own if you mostly want stats I guess.
Love your channel, but thieves use the obd to clone keys in under 30 secs. Guess what they will find as soon as they go to it. Then they throw it out the window. Literally 100% waste of 💰.

Both are good cars in their own way
For tuning and out and out performance the M140 that b58 really is a power house And the zf box is so smooth the way the power is delivered and how it picks up speed is no joke and the top end well thats what it’s best for straight roads it’s overall a nice car to be in even the seating position is right
To live with every day and for performance on demand the golf it’s really easy to drive normal and fast also you don’t have to worry about the road conditions like in the 140 if it’s cold or damp just forget it you’ll be fighting that back end ohh and fuel don’t get me started on that the 140 is no good for fuel as for the golf I found it really good 😁
For every day use the golf takes it if you want a fast RWD car that can be a handful the m140, most people would go golf r as for a package it’s much better to live with
the 140 is special in its own way no other hatch back has a i6 3L lump in it😁
@@jamesr50 thanks for the reply. I have a stage 2+ golf r at the moment dsg box. And honestly only had it 4 months but I find the golf really really boring mate. I was looking at a m140i shaddow edition for sum fun ? Sounds like the 140 for the fun I would say it's good fun fighting the tail ?
The golf is great coming out on round abouts and corners👌🏻 ohh it’s a lot of fun it’s a strange feeling when the rear feels loose but in a good way even with the ZFauto it’s still lots of fun and that’s with the Traction on, I find you really gotta focus even on a road with a slight bend in it but it’s not for everyone I know that, I do miss the golf in wet and cold conditions 😁
@@jamesr50 haha yea in the wet conditions so basicly every day nearly here in the UK lol. Yea I agree the pull out of corners is brilliant. I just hate my golf on a roll just feels like it's lacking. Yea that zfauto is a superb Box. The M140i is it controllable the tail tho ? Do u find its a safe slide if you get me I know that sounds daft. But sumtimes I feel driving sum rear wheel drive cars the tail is controllable and then the next I just a tray of dishes.
I got a rewiresecurity db2 tracker gps installed by rabs car alarms and you pay to use the service either monthly or year plan is £60 a year and gives alerts like ignition movement etc works great

I think they would be too high on coke to realise it's plugged in, I got ghost 11 on my 140i fab piece of kit

Shame it useless as a theft tracking device,,out the window lol
Same goes for all these kind of tracking devices in the OBD ports as for the S1 it’s right under the dash so not to bad on that
Completely pointless these devices for theft reasons anyway if you want a car to stay put just buy a ghost system
If they had say a engine cut off,if a theif removes the GPS unit from the obd without first putting in a code etc
Just don't see any point to these devices as you can't even shut the obd port door to hide the device and on alot of cars it's in full view
On the 140 it’s in plan sight on the S1 we have it’s under the dash but I agree about the ghost, if I had a business with vans etc this would be cheap handy way to keep customers up to date where the orders are as for theft device but so much
