Brilliant filming! And I just loved the twilight shots of the two double engines at Minffordd. The quiet drama at 22:25. JS's driver, tired at the end of a long day, climbing back up on to his wonderful steed. Brought a real lump to my throat.
The best FR event Iv ever been to. Credit to the staff and volunteers, I miss volunteering at the FR but I always feel welcome when I step onto harbour station
Thank you for sharing this video! I celebrated my 50th with a train ride from Porthmadog to Blaenau Ffestiniog in 2006. I then made a promise to myself to return on the occasion of my 70th birthday. Unfortunately, I won´t be around to keep this promise.
A great weekend, even if a little damp on Friday! We were the gentleman in the tweed Inverness Cape and his lady in the black Bussel coat and black hat (and on crutches!).
Stunning record of the event! Did the up trains unhook the boat in the platform during the regular Tan y Bwlch stop or was there a brief pause above the loop after departure? Also, was the twilight service all the way up or only halfway? Thanks for this

This has got to be one of the best FR videos ever made; the ‘atmosphere’ of this production is fantastic.
Thank you very much.
Excellent camera work and editing, a great record of a brilliant event, even I managed to be on one shot!

Some great early morning slippage from Lyd, with cold damp rails, a tight curve and a decent length train. Some good control from the driver!
Great event!
Excellent video as expected, loved the gravity boat car. Ray.
Fantastic film, great shots, loved the drone footage in particular!
Excellent videography as always. Every video has new angles and shots to keep it interesting. Bravo!
Excellent!
Love it! Great weekend and a great vid!

Fabulous Festiniog……….as usual!
Fair play to FR management having the common sense to still run the gravity train
Love the sound of a steam engine!!.

The boat just unhooked while the loco took water. The nightglow was just a photographic event at Minffordd.
Steam engines have a sound that makes it seem like it's alive!!!!!!!!.I love it.
Beautiful rail-side town
not gonna lie, I'm really jealous
I'm an American so seeing a small, steam powered, railway town in 2023 makes me giddy
