With due apologies may I say that Baba Kabir did not say Punchi. He said "Panthi" which means a traveler.
People use to travel by foot or by bullock carts etc. and to take rest they would find shadows of dense trees. Whereas date or khajoor trees are although very tall but are far from being of any use to a traveler or Panthi.
I hope you will take it only as my humble suggestion and continue to enthral your audience.
