It’s a shame they aren’t here as I can and do eat them if I have them every day. There are many ways to cook them but baking is the easiest and tastiest. What a harvest!
If you like cooked greens, sweet potato leaves trimmed of the vines are a lovely substitute in any recipe that calls for spinach. (Leaves only as the stems are tough if you don’t peel the outer fibers off them.)
It's apprx 3'x20', might be 3.5'x24'... somewhere in that range. In the first 40 seconds of this video from June you can see what the bed looked like 2-4 weeks after planting. th-cam.com/video/melFli8IunI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-hcnqQzAB4BDv86- 2-3 plantings were whole sweet potatoes with a few slips growing on them. (Those look bigger, bushier.) The rest where single slips. I would say around 2' part. They all get big and grow whereever they want to anyway.
Thank you for the quick response. I don't have as big as a bed as yours. Mine is 3' x 6' but how you've planted have given me a good starting point as how to how I should proceed next season. Thanks again. 😊
How do you prepare sweet potatoes? I'd love to try several new recipes this winter.
I don’t love baked sweet potatoes, but I love to chop them up and roast them with carrots, salt, pepper and olive oil.

How long and what temp do you roast them at? Or just until browned on outside?
@@Boringcountrylife well, I would say 400° for maybe 20 min and go from there.

I still bake them the way you taught me. :-)

No, we aren't cooked green lovers here. (Maybe one day though.) We prefer greens in salads, smoothies, or baked in dishes.
It’s better to let them “cure” awhile and then they are much better.
Wow! What a bountiful harvest! What size bed is this and how far apart did you space your slips?

You're welcome!
Sweet potato fries are good

Do you have a favorite way to make them or should I google it? I do have a little airfryer.
