Try using a wire brush and scrap the metal a little bit where the batteries go cause I just bought 1 couldn't get it to work either and I tried doing that and it started working

I really want one of these, but unfortunatly, most are in not working condition. How hard would it be to fix one thats not working? Based on this video, Im guessing the issue would likely be a corroded battery holder or a faulty motor. Are these motors easily replaceable?
Anything is repairable, if you have the skill set, or the money to have it repaired, in some respects they are quite simple , but you need someone who is ceaful and sympathetic when working on vintage toys and equipment

I found the issue, which is easy to repair, but I was wondering, while I still have it open, maybe I should replace the motor. Do you happen to know what type of DC motor they use? Hard to find any data, and I also noticed it has a small cog on the tip. Is that removable, when replacing the motor? The best i could find, without the cog is one called "Mini DC motor - 1,5-3Vdc / 300mA 14200rpm"

How did you remove the clothing and fur initially? Did you have to melt any glue?
no i used a razor blade to make a careful cut where it is glued

Yes, they're not corroded or leaking though. I just can't seem to grip them in any way to get them out.
@@riplink possibly try pushing the housing from witdthways together to try and widen the case slightly and they may loosen up
