Man, this is old stuff...love it. I remember the first song I heard E. Tubb sing, "I'm Walking the Floor over You" and Lil' Jimmy Dickens first one recalled was "An Old Cold Tator and Wait". I love watching the Opry on TV...much better than most of what's on TV today.
Most of this was made before I was even born and I love listening to this because there is something missing in today's country that was present here and I think a lot of is the pure soul of what country is. There is too much genre mixing and such to where it's pop anymore. Not everyone is a Blake Shelton or a Toby Keith--or a Joe Nichols or Miranda Lambert. they are distinctive in their sound and retain some of the rebel spirit that country has. As far as I'm concerned, Goldie Hill is comparable to Patsy Cline in some ways. She definitely was a pioneer legend in the genre.
i couldn't agree more! its a peace of crap music! I could care less about hearing about jacked up trucks! and big green tractors! I'm 32 years old I'd rather hear George Jones Ernest tubb ! red Foley !webb pierce ! hank Williams jimmie Rodgers Carl smith Roy acuff!! than these new country pop rap sounding punks!
One of the few of my generation who enjoys this music and still listens to this music

This show was great, filmed in color, which was rare back then. ET was the bomb.
