I was Al's archivist and chief editor from 95 to 99 Al and I spent 100's of hours transferring his footage from film and magnetic 1 and 2 inch tape to digital medium. There was a warehouse full of it and I spent a year organizing and catalouging it all before we edited and put together the memories final collection. There was also an AMEN Gospel collection filmed at Twitty City in the Auditorium there. I have digital copies of all these.
Indeed. Thanks for sharing this. I'm too young to remember these stars BEFORE the "Nashville Sound" (e.g. Faron Young backed by a smooth orchestra) and it is a revelation to see their roots. Great music, great dancing, and fun all around (apart from the marital intrigues behind-the-scenes!).
Has anyone other than me tried to access "The Country Show" in the last few weeks only to find what looked like the same recordings titled as something to do with the Grand Ole Opry?
No drums on this. This is reall country music. Not that garbage they play today. I have all this videos and play them quiet often. Actually there is no more COUNTRY MUSIC!!!!
