Got one, and in Qc Canada also. PRICE was unbeatable at the time I reserved it (Dec 2000, got it 11 months later). Saw other options since but it looks like each of them has its drawbacks like the many of the ID.4. I think for example of the absence of a rear window wiper on the Ioniq 5, a disqualifying issue for us in Canada. ID.4 has a lot of small nagging issues, you did not miss any, but as you said it remains a very affordable, sturdy, quiet, comfortable and roomy vehicule. Isn't it what people are looking for when thinking about making the move to an EV instead of making a light, sound and street racing show to friends and neighbors with its 80K$ marvel?

Exactly, albeit its issues, it's a good purchase.

Thanks for the video... The infotainment concerns me. I am however even more concerned with situations where say the safety features are turned off due to hot temperature (I live in Texas) or that the car switched itself off when it detects the person has left the driving seat to say just get something from the trunk. True problems?

Yes but the passenger can turn the AC back on.

I agree the VW software needs a lot of work. My new Tiguan has lots of glitches.

What pisses me off is that VW just takes options away and tells no one . Like one of the basic services it’s supposed to have road sign recognition. I had it and it was working one time while using ACC, then having the ACC just quit, the choice for turning on sign recognition was gone. Not making great customer relations. I’m looking elsewhere for a EV now. VW didn’t even have the curtesy to inform the dealers of these things. Another crap move from VW is comfortline is supposed to have the auto lift back door option, NOT!

In the US we do not even get the heat pump as an option... Interested to know how much the AC degrades the range with a heat pump. Here in Texas, which is pretty hot, you can not get more than 200 miles (300 Km) in the summer time.

I know this is your style of presentation but if I could give you a tip. Take some presentation skills from Alex on autos. If you are going to review and go on for 4 mins straight about how terrible it is: then I would just loose interest and move on from the rest of your review. Though I promise, I will watch the rest and if it’s such a terrible vehicle I am sure other reviewers would say the same as you.

Any by the way the range now as per some EPA numbers are rated for 280 miles RWD for the 2023. I watched the rest and it was okay. Thanks for your reviews

Not a fan of the awd, but I am considering a id.4 rwd

It's even slower in RWD though.

This is a nice car but the public charging system is a mess. Cell phone carriers were like that in the beginning but quickly came up with reciprocity agreements so travelers didn't have to have accounts at every network. Public charging needs to do the exact same thing. It's should be "plug and charge", that's the experience Tesla customer get and that's what they will all expect. It's bad enough charging takes longer, a frustrating delay trying to get payment and activation working is not going to work.

    • @claveyscorner3220

Public charging in the province of Quebec is perfect because it's government-mandated and all under one umbrella: one app, a low, fixed price and adequately maintained.

Charging in the US is actually quite decent thanks to the Electrify America charging network built by VW. Additionally the car comes with 3 years of free charging at this network.

This guy really hates the ID.4. Makes me want to burn VW to the ground.
However I still believe the ID.4 is a better buy than any other EV on the market.

@@claveyscorner3220 Yeah, at the bitter end of the video. By then you've turned people off of the ID.4. Luckily for me I've already set my mind on a ID.4 or a Fisker Ocean.
